Grace: Apparently at some point when Simon and I were flirting with each other but not quite in a relationship, he asked me how I felt about pet names, to which I replied "Well you have to call them something".
Grace: The fact that I have managed to end up in a relationship is really testament to Simon’s patience.

If you don’t like a show, you can just stop watching. I don’t know when people forgot that but if a show makes choices you don’t like or don’t agree with you can drop it like a hot potato and move on. You don’t have to flood the tags of said show with bad faith criticism and doom posts about how “actually the whole show was always terrible and you’re terrible if you watch/enjoy it”. At that point just move on and find something more to your taste, it’s really not that hard.
モクモクれん/Mokumokuren @ mokmok-len.bsky.social Anyway, what I want to say is please stop denying the aroace element in order to protect the homosexual element. Both elements are equally important. January 18, 2025 at 7:46 AM Everybody can reply

モクモクれん/Mokumokuren @ mokmok-len.bsky.social I'm not angry about anything! Manga is fun because many people can interpret it in their own way. However, I want to say that the elements of AROACE are not queer baiting, and that a romantic interpretation is not the only correct interpretation. January 18, 2025 at 12:00 PM

(do not fucking reblog my post telling me about how you were aphobic and thought that the series was trying to make things less queer until you saw this post or whatever. I don't fucking need to know about your casual bigotry towards my orientation, people doing that shit constantly is why I don't really go into the tags for The Summer Hikaru Died)
listen, i don’t usually take commissions, but if someone’s gonna pay me to draw characters i designed..? i can be tempted.
ty hannah for commissioning me to draw this lovely duo from my licensable character design tier on patreon, which have found a wonderful home as NPCs in your game!
this is me just talking out of my own observations and has no research behind it (and is coming from an american pov so your mileage might vary), but i feel like one of the reasons diet culture is SO entrenched and powerful is because christianity is so soaked into mainstream culture as well.
like yeah of COURSE your body is inherently an enemy to master. that's the original sin lazy weakness in you. of course you have to go to the gym and work out until it hurts and you feel sick, especially if you sinned indulged with something of the devil bad for you. you have to repent burn those calories off.
and you have things like gwen shamblin and her weigh down workshop where the link between the two is blatant and disordered eating got a shiny rebrand as spiritual mindfulness, but even out of christian program contexts, i feel like the entire mindset of, "punish and control your body because you can't trust it and pleasure is bad for you and means you're doing something wrong" is SO fucking christian in origin even when the serial numbers have been filed off and replaced with a weight watchers logo.
Warnings/Themes: Friendship, Humor, ACAB but I do love using Hop as a plot device

The whole situation started with Gareth. Which was a bit of a shock, because he was the least likely to come up with a shenanigan of the four of them.
"That's bullshit and you know it," Jeff scoffed.
"Listen," Gareth held up a hand innocently, before pulling a spiral notepad from his jacket. "I've been keeping a tally over the years. Eddie's almost gotten us arrested twice, you and Dave once. I think I'm owed one."
"Ok but you've landed us in more detentions than anyone else!" Dave argued.
"Shut up!" Eddie shouted as he rifled through Wayne's toolbox. "It doesn't matter who the evil mastermind is. Are we doing this or not?"
What started as a late night run through the McDonalds Drive Thru to get burgers after a show at the hideout, turned into a weeks-long campaign to collect them all.
"McNugget buddies," Eddie had scoffed as he pulled the van into the line of cars. The promotional image was dingy in the low light of the parking lot, cartoonish and silly. "That's the stupidest thing I've ever seen."
10 different characters all with different jobs; how was a chicken nugget supposed to have a career?
"They should've made them look like they were all dressed with the different dipping sauces," Jeff pointed out.
"Yeah that would've made sense," Dave agreed.
But Gareth? Gareth stared at the display with a childish desire that he was almost too embarrassed to voice when it was finally time to place their order.
An assortment of burgers and fries and sodas. One filet-o-fish for Eddie to bring home to Wayne. And finally...
"onehamburgerhappymeal," Gareth grumbled when Eddie looked at him expectantly.
There was a pause.
"Sorry, say that again?" Eddie cupped his ear and leaned backwards.
Gareth took a breath and repeated himself, much clearer this time.
"One Hamburger Happy Meal. With an orange soda. And if they have the Drummer McNugget for the toy, I want that one."
He expected his friends to laugh at him, call him a baby, anything.
Imagine his surprise when Dave finally whined, "ok I wanna change my order, I want a happy meal too. With Sarge McNugget."
And Jeff and Eddie both followed suit shortly after.
It was silly, four practically-grown-men eating from tiny little boxes with portions meant for kids. But they were silly. They played games of make-believe for fun, why wouldn't this be something they'd do.
It was silly and a novelty as they made their McNugget buddies fight and act out stories.
Then the next week rolled around. They all sat in the same drive thru, hesitantly glancing at one another. Once again, all too afraid to voice their desire for another happy meal.
"Fuck it," Eddie finally broke the silence. "I'm getting two this time. And a large fry. I was still so hungry, I ate all of Wayne Sour Cream and Onion ruffles when I got home last week. You know I hate ruffles."
"You just want two toys!" Jeff accused him.
"I want two toys. Sue me."
Once again, all of them were in agreement.
Week after week, they found themselves in that drive thru line, collecting their toys, one character at a time.
Of course, the inevitably began to happen: they got duplicates of their buddies.
"What if..." Eddie munched on his french fries thoughtfully. "We do a campaign set in McDonaldland. And all of the kobolds are actually just McNuggets."
They certainly had enough.
But there was one figurine that eluded them all.
Boomerang McNugget.
They even drove down the highway to the McDonalds out by the truckstop in Marion. No luck.
"We just need one!" Jeff whined. "We can share it."
"It can live in the van," Eddie grinned.
"Or in the Garage," Dave suggested. "Like it's a part of the band."
Gareth had an idea, though, after watching late night rat pack movies with his dad.
"What if..." he started, "we stage a heist."
Unlike the cardboard display out by the drivethru, there was a real display inside the restaurant that proudly showcased every toy there was to offer.
"We get in, cause a scene. And get out with Boomerang before anyone notices."
The plan was simple: one person clogs a toilet in the bathroom-- "No problem" Jeff grinned --while someone else pretended to choke on an actual McNugget. And while that was all going on, the other two would break Boomerang from his plastic prison.
Fate was just...never on their side.
Because, they literally ran face first into one Sheriff Hopper.
It was chaos. French fries and ketchup spilled all over the floor. Along with the tools they brought for the heist. Hop sighed tiredly as he stared down at the mess, and then looked up at the boys with an unimpressed expression.
"I take it you boys haven't suddenly become amateur handymen since the last shenanigan you pulled," he hummed judgmentally.
"You never know!" Dave held his hands out innocently. "We could've."
"You can't take our weed and firecrackers this time, Hop," Eddie said smugly. "We don't have any...probably."
"Either way, we're not here to cause trouble."
"Really? Then please tell me why there seems to be a free hammer with my Big Mac Meal," Hop crossed his arms over his chest and stared at the boys expectantly.
It didn't take long for them to fidget under his intense gaze.
"It's not our fault, it was Gareth."
"We just wanted Boomerang McNugget."
"Please don't call our parents, Hop!"
Hopper sighed, looked at all of their pathetic faces, then turned on his heel to head back to the counter, muttering something about avoiding paperwork as he did.
"Can I get another Big Mac meal?" He asked the cashier, then gestured over his shoulder. "And a mop for these boys to clean up this mess. And..." He pointed to the Happy Meal display. "The...booming mcnugget, if it's no trouble."
I saw a post I left tags on talking about how a key element of Naziism/fascism writ large is the identification of subhuman leeches on society who must be eliminated in order to achieve perfection. naturally someone in the replies said "this isn't true of billionaires tho" and the OP had to remind them that the Nazis thought the Jews were the wealthy elites who were holding them back from perfection. naturally, the response to this is "well but they were wrong. the Jews were innocent and billionaires are not" and it makes me want to put my head through a wall
You're right and you should say it. I swear a lot of people on this site and on the internet more generally just do not understand that other people have just as much interiority as they do. They think everyone else is just a Mass Effect npc where you input the correct dialogue sequence and get the desired result.
You also can't trust anyone who thinks that being a billionaire is an innate condition that people ought to be killed for. You can get rid of the condition, "billionaire", by appropriate redistribution of wealth (you don't even need socialism to do it; taxes exist under capitalism as well), but actually literally killing the billionaires would solve nothing. The kind of people who think billionaires are subhuman leeches who should be killed will easily redirect their ire to millionaires, many of whom actually did earn their money (entertainers, for example), and from there to the upper middle class (doctors, lawyers, accountants, small business owners), and somewhere along the way they're going to decide that actually the Jews are not innocent, because that's how this shit works.
Frankly I feel that the conditions "cannot detect that other people have agency and thoughts of their own" and "wants to kill some class of people" have enormous overlap, and make a person inherently untrustworthy.
"I wanna kill pedophiles!" And convince every child who loves their abuser -- which is a lot of them because child sexual abusers groom their victims -- into keeping silent because "you don't want me to die, do you?", or else burdening them with horrible guilt if they do accuse the abuser and the abuser dies. Not to mention the fact that if you redefine being queer in public to being sexually abusive to children, then every queer person is a pedophile! And what about all those autistic weird men who stare oddly through people and have speech impediments and are just generally creepy? Probably they're pedophiles too!
It doesn't matter who your Two Minute Hate is being whipped up against; if you do not understand that other people have interiority, you can be convinced that anyone needs to die if the right buzzwords are used or the right accusations are made. Unless you are steadfast on the principle that the state does not have the right to commit murder. No, not even {insert category you hate here.} And people who see other people as NPCs often do not have that principle.
(This problem is older than the Internet; the Internet has just made it somewhat more obvious.)
Look, this is my litmus test: I pretend I am the original Earl of Sandwich. I have asked for non-bread foods to be brought to me inside bread, that I might more easily consume them one-handed while gambling.
This does not enable my wretched regency habits. This is not what I asked for. I do not deign to grace it with the name of my house.

In my weak defense I’m in a lot of smaller or old fandoms and you take what you get. Also i don’t usually use the exclude option and i love when the crack is treated seriously.
