Juggling classes and research has been extremely difficult. I’m now in my 3rd year in my PhD program and the imposter syndrome is in full effect. Having an organization system and a creative outlet has really helped my mental health. Wish me luck everyone 💕

IT’S VIRGO SEASON! 

Grad school started this week so I figured I should get back to using my bullet journal to stay organized! I’m working in a bladder cancer research lab this semester and I’m super excited! Wish me luck!

Our grocery store has giant robots now.

As you can see, they put giant googley eyes on them to make them more endearing and less menacing. Except they’re on the side of the robot’s “head,” so you can’t see them when this 6 ft black obelisk with glowing blue eyes starts rolling up on you and your small defenseless child while you’re innocently standing in the baking aisle looking for pancake mix.

Today a woman at the grocery store passed me and said “That stupid goddamn robot!” and smashed her cart into it. The first blow in the human/robot war has been struck.

WHAT. ARE. THEY. FOR.

hey y’all, Stop and Shop employee here. Let me explain these things. This is “Marty”. A bunch of martys were installed at stores all over the country. When we were first told of Marty the managers said they’d be used to clean up small messes and to help customers find products. They don’t do either of those things. They putter around the store constantly beeping and getting in the way. If they find a ‘mess’ on the ground.. (a mess being anything as small as the stem of an apple) they don’t clean it up. Instead it starts saying to be wary of the hazard and broadcasts over the PA system for someone to come clean it up. They have no interface to help customers find items and they don’t clean anything themselves. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT THEY DO!?! Spy on workers. These things are just an extra security camera that can move all over the store and watch the employees to make sure we aren’t doing anything the company doesn’t like. And here’s the real kicker… each unit costs about $40,000. And these were unveiled a week after we came back from striking about unfair policies they were trying to push onto us.  So tl:dr, Marty fucking sucks and so does Stop and Shop

Also, I’m finally done with my application process and will be starting my PhD in New York in August and I am BEYOND EXCITED!

February Spread is Done!

Sorry it took so long to get this done. It’s been a hectic past few weeks. I’ve had 3 interviews this past month. I’m coming up on the last few so I’m excited to start narrowing down my schools! 

I hope you guys enjoy the spread! I went back to the minimal bullet journal monthly spread just because I’m super busy and felt the calendar was just not working for me. Any cool ideas for monthly spreads?? Let me know!

2019 All Set Up! 

I really like the way the light purple came out in these spreads. I initially wanted to keep it black and white, but somewhere along the line I ended up adding more and more color, oops! 

I want to get my January spread going as well, but I haven’t thought of a nerdy theme yet. Any recommended themes? I was thinking of doing an organic chemistry spread because I love the hexagons, what do y’all think?

Setting Up My New 2019 Bullet Journal 

I got a few pages done for 2019. I’m starting in a new notebook after a few years so I’m excited to see how this one comes out. 

I still want to do a 2019 goals page and year at a glance page. Gonna try to get my January spreads set up too. I’ll try to upload those soon. Send me your favorite spread ideas, I want to explore different ideas and see how they work out for me. Let me know what your guys think!

Hola! I’m super excited to start posting. I’ve thought of doing this for a little while now so here’s me shooting my shot.

I’m Puerto Rican 

Florida native 

Graduated from USF with a Molecular Biology degree and a mathematics minor 

Lab manager in a cancer research lab

Currently in the process of applying to PhD programs (*begins sweating)

I have a cat named Mila 

I’ve been bullet journaling for about 3 years now and it was really helpful during undergrad! Ready to take my favorite ideas and use them in grad school
