For everyone complaining about how these two can get arrested and it won’t affect their careers, you’re right. It most likely won’t hurt their careers. That’s why they keep going out and doing it. They’re using their platform to their advantage. They’re both white, of an older generation, and famous enough to be recognized. They’re holding their generation accountable and making an effort to show up and enforce change. This isn’t them advertising a TV show or some bs, they’re there to help

Jane Fonda has been involved in protest since the America Vietnam war

Jane Fonda’s activism did, in fact, hurt her career, and she’s out there risking it all again. She wasn’t just involved in protest since the Vietnam war (tho that is what did her career the most damage, some lawmakers were actually calling for her to be tried for treason over it)

She was already under government surveillance before that for her support of the Black Panthers and her show of solidarity with two separate first nations re-occupations (Fort Lawton and Alcatraz). 

She’s not being silly or doing a bit or pulling a PR stunt. She’s just not letting the cops scare her. Because this is far from her first rodeo.

She was arrested on trumped-up drug smuggling charges, which an officer later admitted was their only way of booking her because god damn Nixon wanted her arrested for her anti-Vietnam War activism. The FBI and the CIA, and the NSA had been surveilling her for months without her knowledge.

If there is any celebrity whose activism is not empty lip service, it’s Jane fucking Fonda.

I think I’m too invested in the supernatural s16 drama.

Last night I dreamt that I was at Halloween store where there were giant Angel wings, I thought they were to big. Then I met Misha Collins, who is 6’0 and took a pictures comparaient the giant wings to his full height. Later I went with my family to Denny’s where we were told to leave since it was already at capacity. The whole time I was making s16 jokes and explaining the spn drama to my mom. Misha laughed and joked with me.

I have only seen one episode of supernatural in my whole life, the pilate episode, which was shown to me by a friend six years ago when I was in high school. How did I get here. Why am I still re-watching sarahz’s 2 hour long destiel gate video.? Why do I check the supernatural and destiel tags multiple times a week? Why do I care so much about a show I’ve never seen, to the extent that I’m dreaming about Misha Collins?

I’ve been disconnected from my family, how can I talk to them when all I think about is spn drama on tumblr, they would never understand. The word destiel has no meaning for them. I am lost. Who am I?

Honestly this is just a testament to the batshit influence that SPN has had on our generation. I have seen nine-odd seasons of the show years ago and I am just as purturbed by the finale and season 13 drama as anyone else

Just had my nth conversation with someone about mask-wearing today - yet another well-intentioned moron who was like 

‘But the virus is gone now’ (it isn’t) 

‘But the mask is uncomfortable’ (ventilators are worse)

‘But you’re young, you won’t die’ (having this thing could impact my health for decades to come + it’s my responsability to protect those who’re more vulnerable than I am because that’s how society works)

‘But are you going to live in fear for the rest of your life’ (taking concrete safety measures actually helps me feel more in control and less worried)

‘But are you going to give up everything and stay inside like a rat’ (no, but I’m definitely going to decide what’s worth risking my health for, and shopping for bread rolls is not very high on my list of literally-to-die-for activities)

‘But what if they never find a vaccine’ (then we’ll get used to the situation just like we got used to a thousand other things like seat belts, bike helmets, and increasingly weird true crime podcasts). 

I know it’s tiring to have people call you paranoid all the time - but you’re right and they’re wrong. Check the news, keep a safe distance from others whenever possible and keep wearing your mask!
