the teen wolf movie killing off a character who has been kidnapped, tortured, groomed and sexually assaulted at 15, forced to kill his first love, whose family burned to the ground… by burning him to a crisp. no words.

You forgot to mention how Jeff had him burn himself alive for people, a majority of them who did not care for him and only kind of care for him now, in front of his only child. Jeff really thought that was OK.

You know, after everything that you mentioned;

The sexual assault

The torture

The near-death

Kind of dying a few times

Being lied to

Having his body used against him (A super shitty metaphor an allegory for the initial sexual assault that he had to go through at 15, because he trusted someone wholeheartedly and cared about them so much he never thought that they would hurt him and guess what? They used his body against him.)

More sexual assault and lying and using his body

Having to kill somebody he loves

And then having to do it a second time to his uncle, (his uncle, whom he loves whose his mental state is all messed up because of the fire that he indirectly unfortunately kind of was a part of because of the original sexual assault that happened when he was 15 years old by a 25-year-old woman who prayed upon him, used him and was pretending to be a Substitute. Teacher.)

etc. etc. trauma etc. etc. needs therapy etc. etc. deserved better etc.

And I agree with you, Derek still lives in my head. In fact he lives to the rest of the fandom. I don’t know what the hell kind of fanvid mess that was that Jeff decided to put up there because he hates Derek.

Or he hates the fact that Derek is more popular than Scott?

Or the fact that he hates that Stiles and Derek are more popular than Scott, especially together?

Or maybe he just hates the guy he based Derek off of and he’s mad at us for not hating the Derek character because he still hates the guy he based Derek off of?

Wait wait wait forgot to add the other time his body was used against him and guys…it’s a twofer featuring Lydia Martin, whose body was also used…

…for the purpose of bringing Peter back who harassed, lied, gaslit etc to Lydia for months and then used her body to resurrect himself by having Lydia blow wolfsbane in Derek’s face to knock him out, drag him back to the house where his body was and use the moon and mirrors to bring him back because of Derek’s unconscious alpha spark…

So lets count them

Kate when Derek was arguably between the ages of 15 to 17

Kate again when she kidnapped and strung him up

Peter via an unwilling and possessed Lydia

Scott McCall lying to him in order to force him to bite Gerard and poison him because of the wolfsbane in his heart pills.

Jennifer Blake for sexual purposes because she was a deranged lunatic that convinced herself that they were in love and because she needed him to help her in case her plans went screwy.

And Kate again?! And this time she deaged him so it went right back to the start.

So a whooping…well holy shit…

Derek’s body was used against him six times and arguably four times were sexual assault-we dont know if kate had time for sexual canoodling with deaged 15-17 year old Derek but she made out with him and there was a bit of time between her kidnapping him from Scott’s and getting to the school so…it’s just gross.

So so gross. And before y’all @ me, Kate likes them young. She implied it with Jackson, she made out hard with deaged 15-17 year old Derek, she mentioned that he grew up in all the right places to mock him but when she recalled all the “wild sex” they had she got hot for it which is horrible considering his actual age at the time the “wild sex” happened and she was reported to be in her mid to late twenties at the time (it’s mentioned that in the police reports about the mysterious woman seen around the time of the fire and being in her mid to late twenties.)

At the time of this mention she is torturing him, did the lick and he’s about 24 and she should be, if we go by 15-17 and the fire being between 7-10 years ago and she would have been, at the youngest 24-25 at that time…she’d be 34-35? No wait. Wait… wait I’m wrong, hold on they said mid to late twenties didn’t they? So during the torture scene she should be between 35 to 38. Because again. Mid to late twenties.

Fucking. Ick.

Also poor Lydia who went through trauma and torture and having her body used against her for actual months. Lydia also deserved so much more than what happened to her in the series and the movie.
