people love extolling the virtues of ball-and-socket joints and how it makes us more advanced and all that but I don't see any fucking octopuses in slings now do I. Bones are overrated and I want a refund.
how dare you lay this curse upon my home
you don't frighten me
Everyone in the notes saying "this is a 10k post to me" "posts that have 100k energy" "posts that are 30k to me" or whatever - alright, fine! Put the fuckin' work in then! You'd better have this queue'd up every day for the next six months! You'd better have all your friends queue'ing it up too!
You want me to suffer?? You want to treat me like my own goddamn bones do??? MAKE AN EFFORT
okay we're not defending transphobic-ass shit like "theyfab/theymab/etc." in 2026. how am I seeing posts unironically being like "oh it's not THAT bad" and "ummm akshully SOME nonbinary people deserve to be mocked (read: misgendered)"
the term originated specifically as transphobic slur coined by transmedicalists (on 4chan, but also on tumblr and twitter) to make fun of nonbinary people who "weren't trans enough"/"weren't REALLY trans"/etc. if you think it's okay to use these terms for nonbinary people you are siding with transphobes, full stop.
the following images are from a 2018 4chan thread specifically asking "what is a theyfab":
there's no magical category of people who it's okay for you to misgender btw. whether or not a nonbinary person is a bad person or not still doesn't give you the right to misgender them. just because someone uses "she/they" or "they/them" or neopronouns or whatever other combination of pronouns you want to imagine doesn't make it NOT misgendering when you start referring to them by their literal fucking assigned gender at birth.
if you still wanna use those terms in spite of all that then by all means, I can't fucking stop you, but let's not spread this narrative that "oh well they're not real slurs." "this misgendering isn't that bad." just admit you wanna call people slurs because you don't like them, whatever.
not to still be pissed off about this shit from yesterday but this line from the post that set me off is just so sickening
"getting mad about [derogatory slur] is maybe the most [derogatory slur] thing you could do." idk maybe making leading comments and assumptions regarding both someone's agab and genitals in order to immediately demean them and call them a slur they don't want to be called is just not a good look. maybe, just maybe, you shouldn't be calling strangers terms that have a historically transphobic and bigoted origin.
if you're going to tell someone they can't be mad about you calling them a slur, especially one centered around misgendering them (omgggg these theyfabs are so fucking hysterical they overreact so muuuch what attention-seeking whores amirite), maybe you should just start calling people "le triggered special snowflakes" too since you already wanna side with transphobic 4channers anyway.
I can make Tangled (2011) about being queer if I want to.
I am not immune to the cutting of hair being a symbolic representation of both freedom of the new life and death of the old life.
Whoops it was 2010
Somebody asked for elaboration so
Immediately discovering that the way that other people live isn’t as dangerous as an abusive parent says it is
The male lead spends a lot of his time and energy pretending to be something he’s not to try to find a niche in life but really becomes happy only after dropping his macho lady killer facade
The first place Rapunzel finds help and gentleness in the outside world is in a bar full of people that are viewed as dangerous by society, including disabled people, conventionally unattractive people, and people who dress in odd costumes
The cutting of Rapunzel’s hair both literally and metaphorically kills her controlling parental figure. Sometimes to truly be free and be yourself you need to fully cut a controlling parent out of your life and it can feel like a death of sorts.
As a closeted blonde transmasc child who was constantly discouraged from cutting my hair for the benefit of others who liked looking at it I was of course totally normal about the hair cutting scene when I saw that in theatres
I was also totally normal about Mulan cutting her hair when I saw that as a tiny dark-haired child, too. I'm beginning to think that there's at least one queer allegory/family film/hair-cutting scene trifecta produced every generation or so.
do not forget the patron saint of these weeks that we celebrate ourselves proudly and openly in the streets
her name was Marsha P Johnson, and we have her to thank for so much.
remember, the first Pride was a riot, and she was one of the brave souls who endured it to help carve the path which so many of us walk today. she helped found several activist groups regarding LGBT safety and wellbeing. and she was absolutely radiant, too.
thank you, Marsha. we remember you.
Huskerdust kitten time! In order we have Shirley Temple, Ace, and Lottie. Took a while to finish them up, but they're all done now!
The characters belong to @artyphex who made these beautiful fanbabies for Husk and Angel Dust after a filter game on tiktok. I've been following for a while and as soon as I saw the redesigned adult Shirley I knew I had to draw them. I just love these designs so much!
Again, all credit to @artyphex for making them!
These look INCREDIBLE thank you so much!!!!!
"scalp massage" this "scalp massage" that it's ok you can just say it. Boys like it when you pet them

More pieces from the Vinita Cultural Center from last year's basketry exhibit
#the museum i worked at had a collection of these baskets!!!#they are like #idk its hard to describe them #they dont look quite like regular baskets they look like so beautiful #anyways check out the Mountain Heritage Center's exhibit on cherokee/rivercane baskets to learn more
Yes, for some reason I don't think they had any Rivercane baskets at this exhibit, the Vinita cultural center is a bit small so maybe that had to do with it? But traditionally Rivercane baskets look like this:
(credit to Lizzie "Nannie" Youngblood and Rowana Bradley, artist unknown for the Chief's Heart shoppers basket)
The basket pictured in the post is likely commercial round reed (with some flat reed), the commercial form of the materials we would use such as Honeysuckle, Buckbrush, or Trumpet Vine. Many Western Cherokee picked up round reed basketry due to lack of supply of Rivercane after the forced removal to Oklahoma.
I'm not exactly sure what you're referring to in regards to this post but I am a tribal member who is posting this and these were taken at our own museum within our own territory in Oklahoma. This information provided is provided by our knowledge keepers and elders.
I am one of these people you talk about being alive, sharing my culture 🙂
I strongly dislike how "some museums have unethical practices, and repatriation of stolen goods should be a high priority when applicable" has morphed into "all museums are evil, and museums are an unethical and untrustworthy source of information by nature."
Also: where the hell do you think culture is shared? Do you think that you can just... show up to some Indigenous elder's house and go "pls teach me about baskets, thank you?"
Boy, if only there was some kind of centralized location that was open to the public where you could go to learn about things! Maybe a location that has storage space for lots of items and displays to help people understand those items so that you're not constantly asking artisans to do the intellectual labor of explanation! Maybe a location that has room for artists in residency so that they can show you the things they do, or a location that has space to bring in guest speakers. Oh, and it definitely needs to have centralized digital infrastructure to store records based about items so that we're not making a bunch of scattered artisans write stuff down and keep it in boxes in their closet or something.
I wonder what an institution like that would be called.

The fact that you're forced to have a set physical form is so fucked up.
Like yeah this is Your Vessel. You can kinda change it, but not a ton. At least not without spending large amounts of money or having undesirable side effects. And no you can't choose how your Vessel looks, that's based on your parents sorry. Also as you age Your Vessel will change, sometimes in ways you don't want. Can't really do much about that either.
And all interactions have to be through Your Vessel. You can never escape Your Vessel. If you want to have irl friends they'll have to see Your Vessel. And if you don't show someone Your Vessel, they're going to have an image in their head about what Your Vessel looks like, and its almost certainly not what it actually looks like.
Escaping Your Vessel is impossible.
(getting a taste of my own medicine) actually this is okay. Is this what you guys have bene whining about? Jesus christ

Top 3 things people love insisting they don't have despite it being impossible
Pronouns
An accent
Bias
Im going to shoot you people with a fucking gun
Everyone has an accent it came free with your language 🙄
Congrats to every reply like this for failing to understand the fundamental definition of an accent. Of course you think you sound normal! It's the way you speak!
Gonna sign language at you in a very southern accent
Sign languages also comes with accents, you can easily watch people sign and tell the difference
You get different sign language accents, you get regional accents, and you even get "second language speaker accent"
