short form writers look at people writing 100k+ fics as though this is some sort of talent given as part of a fae bargain, that the commitment required shows some sort of ungodly mental fortitude.

meanwhile long form writers look at people writing 1000 word one shots like god I would cut off my left nipple to be able to say anything concisely. i would love to play with multiple ideas. free me from the shackles of this child I have birthed. i love them but I now must take them to t-ball and doctor's appointments and they're going to destroy everything I own.

I often play a certain game, or rather a Roblox map, where you play as a mermaid and complete various quests, earning tails and new skins. And after playing for a while, I suddenly felt like throwing Lydia and Beetlejuice in there... It turned out pretty funny!

Of course, I also tried to recreate the skins themselves in the game itself, but unfortunately they didn’t turn out as good as planned, but they were recognizable.

I went to the bee exhibit that’s currently on at the Royal Ontario Museum, and it was mostly fine. just a bunch of blurry projections of flowers onto octagonal grid walls, with plaques telling you“this is how a bee sees” and “you’re having an immersive experience.” lots of attempts to make ‘holograms’ too, with mixed success. but at the end, they did have the bee orb, without any real description or explanation, and you did have to kiss it before you could leave. people were crying
