Happy Mother’s Day, Space Mom. As someone who was taken away from my own mother at a young age and didn’t even know if she was even alive for almost a decade, Carrie has been an inspiration person to me. She taught me to be strong and to not care what people think. She taught me that it’s okay to speak your mind and have your convictions even if the crowd doesn’t agree. She taught me struggles with mental health is nothing to be ashamed of. She taught me there’s nothing wrong with taking medicine for mental health treatment. Thank you, Carrie, for being such a positive female role model in my life and to so many other people as well. Leia’s Fate in Episode VIII foreshadowed

In the latest Poe Dameron comic (issue #14), General Leia attends the funeral of a fellow resistance member. Poe delivers the eulogy and his speech includes a callback to Yoda’s famous dialogue from Empire Strikes Back- “Luminous beings We Are. Not this crude matter.”

Shortly after the funeral, Leia tells Poe that probably sooner than they would like, she will be luminous.

I feel that this is a foreshadowing of General Leia not surviving Episode VIII.

Climbing Wellness Mountain

It’s been two weeks since I got sick with an upper respiratory infection (and the nurse at the walk in clinic also suggested an allergy test as seasonal allergies may have had a lot to do with it). I didn’t think it would make me feel like goo. That is the best way I can describe it... weightless and heavy all at the same time. It was a very strange sensation.

After taking enough Dayquil, Nyquil, and the prescriptions given to me, today is the first day I feel mostly human. Still really tired so the most I did was laundry but It may not come out of the dryer. Or I might just shove it all into baskets and leave it rumpled.

I would like to thank Amazon Prime Now for bringing me OJ, chicken noodle soup, and kleenex on demand. Vitamin C does a body good. I nearly cried after the first glass.

This is a conversation I had with myself 3 weeks ago... maybe I already posted it. I will post it again because I can.

Me: Why did I buy all these boxes of Kleenex for the Ibotta rebates? I am never going to use them.

Lungs and Nose: Challenge accepted.

Thank God they were the expensive, soft kind because even they rubbed my nose raw after a while.

I hope that as my energy returns to normal that by the end of the week I can get back to writing. I’ve missed working with Ben and Asori and have some ideas to play with.

I will tell you, Apple Watch and its activity monitor is passive aggressive AF. Last week, for three days, I barely left my bed. Long enough to feed the cats, take care of some personal details and back to bed. So on Monday morning when it sets up the goals for the next week it says “You didn’t have the best of weeks last week.”

No shit you jerkface watch. Who asked you?!

Anyway, all of that to say, I’ve enjoyed reading more of your AO3 fics and hope to get back to mine soon.

writer: *stops mid-sentence* damn what's the word I want?

writer: *spends 25 minutes on google trying to figure out the right vocab word*

writer: *gets a paragraph done*

writer: *starts another sentence, stops* what is that really specific fact I need?

writer: *spends an hour trying to figure out this obscure thing that probably doesn't actually matter*

writer: Wait what's that thing called again?

writer: *has no idea how to search for what I need*

writer: *ends up digging through blogs and other archived websites for details*

writer: *needs to reference source material for fact checking*

writer: *has to eat and sleep at some point*

writer: should it be "she regards him with disdain" or "she glares at him with disdain" ??? (hint: it doesnt matter but gunna go back and forth over it for an hour)

writer: *gets distracted by the internet in general*

writer: HOW IS THIS ONLY 800 WORDS???????

writer: fuck proofreading

writer: okay fine i'll proofread.

writer: holy shit this is awful.

writer: *reworks entire sections*

writer: *doesn't think I'm good enough as a writer and stops for a few days*

writer: repeat process as needed.
