Recently I've been associating myself with more stereotypical "gamer boys" who play COD and consume nothing but caffeine and cheetos. I am surprised to find that this is not making me gayer, but straighter.

Yes. But it's also making me realize that I hate people, and that I never to do the initial "courting"/asking-out process again.

does anyone have headcanons for what years in minecraft world are + what the days of the week are called. i think most seasons mod do 24 days per season??
in my brain days of the week are named after different crops or trees (it depends on the world) In my brain weeks are four days and months/seasons are sixteen days, and then years are 64!

nah since marvel is trending again I’m going to say it again louder for the people in back — canon steve rogers would never have chosen an “idyllic 1950s white pickett fence life” because the only place that man belonged was a picket LINE. the whole point of his character was that his work was never done. there was always going to be another oppressor, another bully, another person who takes advantage of the underprivileged for him to stand up to. from the moment he gained consciousness he, a chronically ill son of a working class mother living below the poverty line, used his voice and his body to protect & fight for what he believed in. I’m not sure there was ever a time pre-super soldier serum where he didn’t have a black eye. he could put the shield down all he wanted but he could never retire from being steve rogers — someone who never once turned a blind eye, who never once wanted a “reward” for his work, who never once abandoned his friends. this isn’t up for debate. this is almost a century of comic book & film/animated precedent. he may have been a man out of time, but in his words “it’s tempting to want to live in the past. it’s familiar, it’s comfortable. but it’s where fossils come from”

hey what was that jewish word for a miserable journey that fucking sucks but you have to do it anyway so you're going to complain the whole way.
Anyway just to highlight what a wretched day yesterday was work-wise, I started at 8 am and was done with my work at 6 pm. Today I started at 9:00 and was done by 3:15 pm. Same amount of work.
The journey is a schlep. And if you complain about it for the sake of complaining, that’s kvetching.
The "inuits have 1000 words for snow" thing may be a myth, but yiddish having such a massive vocabulary for bitching about things continues to impress me.
To be fair, we've had quite a bit to bitch about over the past couple thousand years.

i'm so serious about this. without timestamps you don't know when a post was originally made. every day on this website i see people reblogging years-old articles, freaking out like something is recent news. i see people getting slammed for shit they long apologized for that's getting dragged out as if it just happened. old outdated science and history posts, recall warnings from five years ago, politics discussions that make no sense now.
this isn't just an issue with tumblr's settings, although the fact that timestamps are opt-in is fucking bonkers. people do not read dates on posts, on articles, on anything, and behave as if everything they see on the internet, now over 30 years old, is brand new and currently relevant. look at dates! remember that things from 2022 are not as relevant as they might appear to be! stop mindlessly repeating things you don't even pay enough attention to to know when they happened!
