What if nobody actually knows who the older Ambarussa is. Not even Nerdanel because she got too confused about *two babies* and got them mixed up somehow. That would explain the “the younger twin burned, but the older was Amrod” thing. Also, the drama.

Just going through the Lay of Leithan and there are actually two different versions of the Oath in Canto VI just a few lines apart. One is narrated and the other is spoken by Celegorm. This is so funny to me because I imagine Celery forgetting the actual phrasing of the Oath and just makes something up and Curvo rolling his eyes in the back
