๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ฌ๐บ | second chapter done yay!! Took me longer only bc ive been so busy with getting ready for my camping trip which i really enjoyed. Was able to watch avatar at night so that was even more fun.
I do wanna mention that this takes place about a year before the events of way of water. I canโt remember if I mentioned that last time, but yes. A year before the recoms are back.
A few oc characters, that arenโt really important? I mean they are, and i will have future ones show up. But none that will take over the plot of the story is what im tryna say.
Anyway, i hope you enjoy this chapter <3 i hope to post the next one soon ๐ค
The pilots of the samson are Viktor and Mateo, both of whom had been here the first time RDA touched down on Pandora, some of the best amongst pilots.
Theyโre loud and obviously close friends from how they bicker with each other. Tamtey listening as they rib each other, making jokes at the expense of each otherโs mothers.
The grunts in the back donโt appreciate their laughter, especially Captain Anvrok.
Same man who picked up the affinity of calling her mutt, shooting killer glares at the two pilots in front anytime they got too loud.
Not that they cared, they just shut the door that separated them and laughed louder.
โFucking imbecilesโ he curses, moving back to take his seat in front of her.
Theyโd been flying for hours now, having stopped only once so far to refuel at a depot.
Tamtey wasnโt allowed out of the samson, chained to her spot, guns trained on her the entire time.
Anvrok turns his anger to her now, that glint in his eye, familar to Harding whenever she felt like being more sadistic than usual.
โSo you ever talk? You even understand English?โ Anvrok snaps his fingers in front of her, laughing as he shared looks with the other soldiers.
The two sci-ops whoโd joined, the one with the glasses and a woman with bright pink pixie cut, sparing a look over to the jeering group before quickly looking away.
Glad that none of their attention was on them for once. Theyโd be dealing with enough testosterone back at the base.
โCome on repeat after meโ
Someone else jumps in, his name tag reads B. McCall, nose flat with a long and ugly scar running across the bridge of it. Almond green eyes with flecks of blue, his thin lips stretched into a sneer, breath stinking of garlic and onion.
โMe animal, me no brain, me no speak Englishโ
He jeers closer into her face, breaking the invisible wall that nobody else but Mercer ever crossed. His breath hot against her face as he repeats himself again, shouting this time, his coming up to lightly smack her in the face.
โMe animal, me no-โ
He doesnโt get to finish, words cut short by inhumane speed. Tamtey moving before they could ever react, teeth closing around the hand that hit her.
Her eyes meet his, watching the terror build up, how fast the man devolves into a whimpering sack of shit.
โWait!-โ
Tamtey bites down, teeth diving through the layers of skin, fat and bone with a chilling crunch.
A scream rips through the samson, McCall tearing his vocal cords apart as the pain rushes through him.
โFuck, fuck get the fuck off me!โ
โWhat the hell is going back thereโ Viktor shouts, looking away from his controls and back to live horror show taking place. He spies Bruno, hand in the jaws of the Naโvi prisoner.
โOh shitโ
Tamtey jaw clamps tighter, unyielding as she stares at him, blood spilling from her mouth and over her clothes, soaking the TAP uniform.
Suddenly thereโs a pause and Bruno goes flying back. His body hitting his fellow soldiers who catch him.
The entire cabin erupts into chaos, blood spurting from his bitten off hand, two stumps in place of where his fingers once were.
โGet a fucking medkit now!โ Anvrok shouts, pushing Bruno behind him and into the frozen sci-ops, unable to look away from the sight of Tamtey who sits placidly in her seat still.
โMy fingersโ McCall pushes out, face screwed up as he stumbles to the ground, hand out stretched in front of him as he shakes. Unable to look away from the gruesome sight, in disbelief almost that this was happening.
Anvrok snaps his head to Tamtey, pupils shrunk to the size of a pin. His mask fogging up from his breath, rapidly depleting his oxygen as he tries to calm himself from what he has just witnessed.
Tamtey, with blood smeared across her mouth only stares him down. Eyes blank, hollow almost. And then, she swallows. Slow and deliberate, the sound like a thousand thundering drums.
And thenโฆShe smiles.
Ardmore watches as the samson lands, arms crossed over her chest as she waits for this famed asset that Mercer couldnโt shut the fuck up about.
The man both manic and reverent as he spoke about her. Tamtey, no last name, but his greatest feat. His most powerful asset, one he trusted enough to even risk his entire work for. Belief that she would complete the mission of taking Jake Sully and the insurgents down.
Ardmore walks forward, skel suit footsteps loud and heavy as she stops only a few meters from the samson.
The door slides opens and out tumbles two sci-ops, evident by their lack of weapons. The pixie haired woman falls to the ground and throws up inside her mask, gagging even more as she is forced to breathe in her own spew.
Ardmore only grunts, two of her soldiers dragging the woman away before she has the chance to pull off her mask and suffocate on the air instead. The man in glasses, face just as pale and green follows closely behind, throwing minute glances back at the samson.
The next to exit is Bruno, a corporal she knew of for his achievements both back on earth and on Pandora. One of the few who survived the war against the Omatikaya people.
A prideful stubborn prick that Ardmore hated working with. Especially since he tried every way to undermine her, ignoring the fact that she was his superior officer. So she had no problem assigning him to the work nobody else wanted.
The last thing she was expecting from a simple extraction, was for him to stumble out over the arms of Marvek, his face pale, body soaked in sweat.
โWhat the hellโ she muttered out, storming forward and looking at his right hand, the crude wrapping of medical bandages and a half torn shirt.
It was soaked through, leaving behind a small trail of blood. If they werenโt fast enough, he was going to bleed to death.
Ardmore lifts the hand up towards her face, uncaring of the cry that leaves Bruno or how Marvek was pulled forward along with them.
She rips off the bandage, uncaring of the blood that stains her hand. Before finally staring down at the injury.
โJesus Christโ a grimace making its way onto her face.
Sheโd seen some gruesome shit in her years as a solider. Blown off limbs, jaws ripped apart from a hidden IED, bullets tearing through heads and splashing brain matter everywhere.
But something about the sight of two ragged, chewed through stumps of where fingers once were was a sickening sight.
No explosives, no bullets, no mines or any man made invention did this.
It was entirely a humanoid creature. Calling it an animal would be a disservice to animals.
Ardmore jaw clenches, dropping the hand and looking to the open door of the samson.
โGet him to medical now. And someone clean up this goddamn bloodโ
She turns away from where a gaggle of people dragging Bruno and Marvek off, focus entire on the samson. A strange energy courses through the air the longer she stares at it.
โThe rest of you out. Nowโ
The silence lingers for a beat before the shuffle of boots and low swears reaches her ears.
Ardmore watches as Anvrok steps out first, barely sparing her a glance. He looked as though he just stepped from a long fought battle, blood caking his clothes.
โMaโamโ he salutes, posture poor, hands shaking and sweat beading down his forehead.
โWhere is sheโ
โInsideโ
Ardmore just raises a brow, hands coming to rest on her hips. What little patience she had spread thin.
โGet her out. Nowโ
Anvrok shudders, shaking his head as he mumbles beneath his breath. The words lost on her but the sentiment of anger and fear stays.
What the fuck happened.
Instead of stepping into the samson, he instead grabs onto a thick corded rope, one she didnโt see when he stepped out from the samson.
The rope pulls taunt as he pulls, feet digging into the ground as Anvrok grows frustrated his muscles tense, trying and failing to pull the mutt from its cage.
โGet the hell out here alreadyโ
The taunt rope suddenly loosens, Anvrok arms failing as he tries to save himself only to fall to the ground, groaning as his palms scrape against the concrete.
Ardmore looks at him with contempt before moving back to the samson.
She wonโt admit it. The fear that swirls just at the edge of her brain, the base of all humans instinct of flight or fight when faced with predator.
Because thatโs what she is. Mercers asset, his miracle project, was a dangerous predator.
Tamtey steps out of the samson, wrists cuffed and what was once a makeshift gag now hanging uselessly around her neck.
Even then, Ardmore can see the dried, flaky blood on her skin, her shirt drenched and ruined beyond belief.
Tamtey steps forward, closing the distance between them until she is only meters away. The rope drops between them, bitten through.
โYou goddamn animalโ Anvrok growls, eyes crazed as he jumps to his feet, rushing at Tamtey with his weapon raised. Gun pointed straight at her head.
โGive me a reason why I shouldnโt put a fucking bullet in your headโ
Tamtey doesnt look away from Ardmore, silvery blue eyes focused entirely on her. Indifferent of the gun pointed at her head.
โStand down Anvrokโ Ardmore says, not looking away from Tamtey, locked in some unspoken battle. Regardless of the fact that itโs one sided.
She canโt look away from the asset, the pet, miracle project, naโvi savage or whatever the fuck you want to call it.
โMaโam? Are you joking, you didnโt see what she didโ He steps closer to them, gun training on Tamtey, shaking as he looks directly to Ardmore.
But her expression hardens, stepping between the two.
โI said enough. Youโre dismissed, get outta hereโ
Anvrok stares at the general in disblief, eyes landing on Tamtey who finally looks at him. Head turning only the slightest of their eyes to connect.
A cold shiver running down his back. Anger pricks along him and Anvrok snarls, righting his gun back in its holster before standing straight.
He turns to Ardmore, looking over her shoulder at nothing as he salutes her.
โMaโamโ he doesnโt wait, turning his back and storming off a ball of wrath.
Ardmore shakes her head, already knows that nobody in that unit will be forthcoming with working with the naโvi.
โFor all Mercer talked big about you, youโve already been more trouble than youโre worthโ
Something shifts behind the soulless eyes, they dart around from her to the two remaining guards that are stationed behind her. Fingers on the trigger, just as on edge about the naโvi in their base.
โGo ahead, tell me why you took a chunk out of one of my people. Why I shouldnโt put you downโ
Tamtey only stares at Ardmore, waiting to see if the woman will go back on her word. If this some unspoken test that sheโs being hazed through.
But she doesnโt do anything, waiting impatiently, arms crossed and skel foot tapping. Only then does Tamtey speak, her words coming out carefully but clear.
โFoot soldiers. Meat bags. A means to an end. Their lives arenโt important to me, theyโre not my handlers and their death would have about as much of an impact on this operation as you stepping on an antโ
Ardmore laughs, not the fake ones she gives to her superiors when they make a joke at her expense, when they threaten her with pretty words.
A full bellied laugh that has her brining her hands to her knees, hunched over, suit whirring with each cackle.
โChristโ she lets a heavy exhale before righting herself, mirth in her eyes as she studied Tamtey.
โMercer undersold you. Maybe there is something more to TAP then his god complexโ
The easy-going nature vanishes, like wind falling abruptly silent. Ardmore steps closer, until she is only inches from Tamtey.
โYou know why your hereโ
She nods, body entirely still. No whipping tails or flicking ears. Even her eyes, still as a river, not a single blink. Unable to, forced to perhaps, miss a single moment.
โTell meโ
Tamtey licks her lips, swallowing down the spit still tinged with the iron of a man.
โTo find Jake Sully and his insurgentsโ
Ardmore hums smacking her lips and nodding.
โYes. Youโll be tasked with hunting down RDA traitors, finding every bit of information you can on the Omatikayaโ
Her smile as sharp as a knife when she speaks her next words.
โAnd then youโll kill them. And not just a simple bullet in the head or wayward arrow to the chestโ
Tamtey thinks back to Sakรคr, the terror in their eyes as she silenced their last breath.
โWeโre going to put on a little show for them. Show Jake Sully what happens when you betray humanityโ
Ardmore turns to the two soldiers behind her who had been waiting patiently, bodyโs lax but fingers never off the trigger.
โBoth of you go ahead to medical. Weโre going to need one of the avatar rooms prepped for a physical and some surgery done, make sure theyโre ready by the time we arriveโ
โYes Maโamโ
They move quickly, running almost as they make their way through the airlock, never once sparing a look back to check on their superior.
It says enough for Tamtey to understand the dynamics.
โI know youโre fitted with a collar and a tracker, but none of it means youโre mine. Only that youโre still owned by Mercerโ
Ardmore raises her hands, skel suit in sink as the metal wraps around the collar. She studies the sturdiness of it, pulling on it see if it gives away.
She gains nothing but a small shock, removing her hands with a hiss as though sheโd just tried to pick up a hot pan.
โFuckerโ
Tamtey doesnโt react to the pulse of electrical currents, her body numb to it at this point, the same low pulse something sheโd become used to.
Ironically, she feels a little lighter. Her mind less heavy as focuses on the General in front of her.
โYouโll need to remove it with a remote. And Mercer is the only one who has itโ
Ardmore rolls her eyes, already cursing the man for omitting that lie to her. Because of course the selfish cunt would.
โAnything else I need to know?โ She says it sarcastically, but Tamtey thinks of what Mercer couldโve been holding back.
โHe implemented an explosive in my trackerโ
Ardmore stares at her, face unreadable as she process what she says.
โSmart, only an idiot would let you wander free without some insuranceโ
Tamtey almost shrugs her shoulders but instead just nods. She has long since accepted the absence of autonomy over her own body.
โWeโll get into the details about your role here later. The doโs and donโt and how short your leash will beโ
Ardmore moves to the side, nodding her head to Tamtey to move in front of her.
โLetโs go get you cleaned up pupโ
Tamtey asquires, taking the lead and following the painted lines that direct her to the airlock that would take her inside.
She spares a look around the place, unsurprised to find Hellโs Gate so close to almost being finished. Spying the mounted turrent and sky patrol of scorpions. Even a few AMPs and soliders in skel suits walking around.
Tamtey is sure the inside is bigger and that the outside will only further expand with time and the technology that humans brought with them.
Especially if what she overheard from Mercer before she left was true.
If Earth was truely dying then this was no longer just a mining planet for humans.
This would be their new home. And Tamtey was going to ensure that it would become reality.
Her body was never her own, this becomes more and more cemented into her mind as she watches them dig around in her body like it was she was animal being dissected.
โTheir organ placement is so differentโ one of them murmurs, poking around at something in her body.
It felt. Unusual, to see herself being cut open. No anaesthesia to knock her unconscious, instead shes forced to watch as they peal back the layers of skin and fat.
Hacking away at the bone until they finally get to where they need, careful in their extraction of the tracker that Mercer once put in her โโ Ironic that he thought to put it so close to her heart.
They wanted Tamtey awake, to test the full limits of a naโvi body and its biology against humans. They had their own pet to play with.
Small mercies that they numbed her. No pain as they sliced and diced away.
Now they were putting in their own tools, scrubbing TAP from the equation as Ardmore watches from behind the mirrored glass. Their own set of trackers going into her body.
The tray they bring over is lined with equipment far more advanced than whatever was used back at TAP.
The designs sleeker, easily packed into small little devices than the long-wired one. Tamtey spares a glance at the old tracker, covered in her blood as it rested on a seperate table.
It was bulky, bigger than a humans hand. Wires sticking out in a chaotic mess.
โThe primary tracker will be embedded subdermally along the clavicle rather than so closely to the heartโ
The voice belonging to a stranger, both soft spoken yet firm. The man hardly sparing her an ounce of attention, focused on the trackers in his hands as he shows them off to the rest, explaining them with excitement.
โAs for the secondary unit, weโll have it placed at the cervical spineโ
Someone else cuts in, confusion that borders more as curiosity in their tone.
โWhy two?โ
The man shrugs, careful as he hands over the first unit to another surgeon.
โRedundancy. If one fails, for whatever reason, we have a back up. It also acts as a micro current emitter, tied directly into the nervous systemโ
Theirโs a beat of silence.
โItโs a shock collar basically, just without the collarโ
A round of snickers leave their mouths, looking between the small unit and Tamtey.
โSoundโs about rightโ one of them mutters below their breath to another worker.
โShould still put a collar on the thingโ
Tamtey doesnโt react, even when they stop to get her reaction, minutes pauses as they look into her eyes, the only time they will ever look at without fear.
The restraints that hold her down, the fact that sheโs cut open, handicapped. Any other time theyโd be shaking, unable to meet her gaze, the smell of fear stinking from them so prominently.
It was laughable. Almost.
Tamtey only lets out a soft sigh before letting her head fall back against the headrest, looking up at the sterile bright ceiling.
The lights burns her eyes, but she ignores it. Waiting and waiting for this to be over, to get ready to move to wherever else theyโll command her.
The door shuts as the last of the surgeons and guards leave the room. The smell of her own metallic blood clogs her nose.
Tamtey looks down at the body. Her body. She notes the dried blood, where they werenโt bothered to clean her. The soaked and tatted rag of her medical gown, barely covering her.
The stitches, the most important of them all, were professionally done. No irritated and inflamed skin, not a single stitch out of line.
It was perfect.
โWe know the Naโvi body heals faster than humans so Iโll be expecting you to be bright eyed and bushy tailed come tomorrowโ
General Ardmore voice crackles through the intercom, Tamtey looking away from her scarred body to the window she was behind.
โYouโre going to be relocated to a room, youโll be under surveillance until I deem otherwise. Two guards will be stationed at all times outside your doorโ
Easy, routine almost. Nothing that Tamtey wasnโt already used to. It was luxury at this point, having her own room rather than sharing with someone else.
โThen after Iโve personally tested you, physically, mentally and intellectually โ change? โ then we can move onto the finer details of your assignment hereโ
Tamtey only nods from where sheโs laid out, pushing herself carefully up to better rest against the table.
The restraints just as weak as the ones on the samson, but she doesnโt try and break free. Waiting for whoever will come in and let her go.
Ardmore pauses, like what sheโs about to say next is something she herself isnโt entirely sure about. She spares a look to the people in the room next to her, a group of neatly ironed pleated skirts and shirts.
The ones that people like Ardmore and Mercer answered to.
โIn order to make sure you complete your assignment. We are going to allocate you a squad of your own. Youโll be team leader and youโll even get to choose who you wantโ
Tamtey tilted her head, waiting for the punchline, for whatever joke they were trying to play on her to be over.
But it didnโt happen. Ardmore staring her down, just as serious as ever. Despite the flurry of panicked looks shared between the suits, all of them trying to get her attention but she never swayed.
Eyes never leaving Tamtey, focused on her and her alone.
โAny complaints?โ
Tamtey can hear even behind the mirror the uproar of voices who vehemently deny this course of action.
โNo Maโamโ her voice coming out scratchy and low, chest tightening at the look of approval on Ardmores face.
โFantasticโ
The room they escort her to is much bigger than Tamtey expected. Walking through the room, a limp in her step as pain thrums through her entire being, stitches pulling as she walks.
Despite that, she can appreciate the room theyโve given her.
The bed is appropriately sized, big enough for her to roll around in without fear of falling off.
A single table in the corner and chair, walls lined with bookshelves, only partly empty. The ones that are lined up range from English classics like Moby Dick and Shakespeare to RDA propaganda.
Thesis written about the savages of Pandora and how to reclaim the second earth. Tamtey stares at the book a second longer before dropping it back into place and turning around.
Tamtey leaves the books and enters the bathroom, eyeing the shower, moving to stand under it, tilting her head back as she looks up at the shower head.
It mustโve been a room for avatars, but the idea that the RDA would still allow the program after what happened with Jake Sully seemed like an error on their part.
Tamtey scours the bathroom once more, pleased to note that they didnโt try and hide any secret cameras in the bathrooms like they once did in TAP.
Leaving the bathroom Tamtey gingerly lets herself rest on the bed, her body still tender from surgery.
She looks down at herself, the grey sweatpants and plain white shirt that already was stained with her blood, her bandages having a small bleed through from her stitches.
She wonders when that secondary device would be used on her. How far sheโll be able to toe the line before they need to shock her back into obedience.
No different from Mercer, maybe just cleaner. Hid it better than the man who all about paraded them around TAP like dogs, collared to the leashes he held in his hands.
Tamtey sighed before letting herself drop to the bed, curling on her side and away from the blared red camera that she would never escape.
Today was nothing more than an introduction to her new world. Only tomorrow would she truely be tested, Ardmore standing watch, a merciless sentinel.
Tamtey lets her eyes shut, sleeping curling around her like a phantom before relentlessly dragging her down into a world of endless nightmares.
๐ฌ๐ต๐ซ ๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ฌ๐บ | so this was supposed to be posted last week, but I ended up leaving a day earlier than expected so. Apologises !! But itโs here finally, posted this as soon as I got home from camping.
Very, very excited to write for this series. If yall have any questions abt this series lmk and Iโll answer what I can.
But either way, im just really happy to finally be writing for this!!
I hope you all had a good weekend, i hope to post again very soon <3
Na'vi can see in the dark like cats, they're eyes are highly reflective like cats. So, it has to set off every prey sense in a humans system when they're patrolling at night and their flashlights catch that gleam. Humans can't see shit at night so there's no way they know what's looking back at them, is it a deer, Viperwolf, or is it a na'vi.
Can you imagine Tamtey learning how unnerving the humans find this when she's a child and later using it to her advantage as an adult. Imagine her during joint missions with So'lek, Etuwa, or someone else, standing in front of someone or even a whole patrol unit covered by the foliage, except for her eyes. Then when they freeze and start to raised their weapons they just start getting picked off from behind, by the time they look back to take her out she's gone.
Or sometimes she'll let them catch a glimpse only to be gone when they do a double take or she'll slowly fade back into the dark or behind some other plant only to never emerge from the other side.
The mind games the na'vi could play with human instincts would be catastrophic. At the end of the day humans are balls of instincts in a meat suit of anxiety. The na'vi would rock our shit.
Going camping this weekend buttt hoping to drop the second chapter of soulless creatures and maybe the third one for my family, my responsibility before i leave as well since itโs been a hot minute
But hopefully when I get back I will be able to finish up the last chapter for devil on wings and i post that soon <3 maybe even do a lil extra chapter for fun but we shall see.

๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ฌ๐บ | hello!! So I debated on posting this only because I am in the midst of other worksโฆbut I also really wanted to get started on this series because itโs been on my brain for ages. More than devil on wings, which was pretty impromptu that I had no real storyline for. And didnโt expect to be like 10 chapters. Whereas this was something Iโve been thinking about since avatar fire and ash and as well as the game.
But either way, Iโm very excited to write for this series. Tamtey does have a set face claim, which I have not posted yet. But when I do I will link it here, but Iโm also very cool with people imagining their own Tamtey in place!
I hope you enjoy the first chapter, a little shorter than I wanted it to be. But I lowkey was just impatient and wanted to start on it as soon as possible. Next chapter will be much longer <3
โHer pulse is steady, wonโt be long before she wakes. Make sure the sedatives are on standby. I donโt want this savage tearing a limb from meโ
Tamtey doesnโt know the voice as she slowly comes from her sleep. Her mind in a heavy fog, unable to fully comprehend and compute her surroundings.
She can feel metal beneath her, cold but familiar. Thereโs something holding her down, straps around her wrists and ankles.
But as she tenses her arms ever so lightly she can hear the fabric giving away under her. Too easily. Too weak.
Whoever tied her down was under the assumption she wouldnโt be able to escape.
Tamtey listens to see if any of the people above her, three she counts by the heartbeats and scent, noticed her movements.
When nobody is alerted, no shouts for the sedatives. Tamtey lets her eyes open, the light above her burning her retinas. But she pushes through the pain, letting her vision slowly come back to her.
As her eyes dart around, past the humans who have their backs turned as they mutter between each other. Looking and pointing at the datapad in their hands.
โThe resistance got too close. If we didnโt come when we did Mercer wouldโve lost his assetโ
Someone scoffs, shoulders tense as they jab at something on their pad.
โMercer and Ardmore wouldโve killed us both. Heโs not our only boss anymore, we report to her now as wellโ
Tamtey stops, muscles clenched before settling back on her makeshift bed.
Mercerโฆheโs here?
The name Ardmore triggers nothing in her head, nothing to connect the name to. No blaring figure. But they were important, enough to be partnered up with Mercer.
Tamtey doesnโt try to escape now. Her body almost relaxing now that she knowโs she in the care of people she knows. She doesnโt trust them, but if they were under orders of Mercer then she was untouchable to them.
And as though the devil himself could hear her thinking of him, heavy footsteps enter the room.
โFucking morons, sheโs already awakeโ Mercer voice cuts in loud and harsh, the sci-ops in front of her jumping a feet in the air before they spin around.
They look bewildered as they look between her awake, eyes unblinking as she stares them down and Mercer who has the usual look of anger etched onto his face.
โS-sir! We. We didnโt know. We thought she was still waking, sheโd been in stasis for so longโ
But he only rolls his eyes, shaking his head as he drags over rusted chair. He motions to the other soliders that had followed in behind him.
โTake them out of here, I want a moment aloneโ
Mercer doesnโt look at the sci-ops when he speaks about, barely giving them his attention now that theyโve finished their job.
Tamtey watches as they hurry out of the room, the one who had been speaking in anger beforehand now unsurprisingly quiet. His cheeks flushed as heโs the first to run out of the room.
Mercer locks in on her as soon as theyโre left alone. Waving away the guards who had looked skepectically. But they knew better than to test the bosses patience.
Her teacher, handler and nightmare does not look to have aged. Exo mask firmly planted on, that combo of a white ironed button up and cream coloured pants.
Tamtey can see the songcord she once carried around like a lifeline still in his clutches. Wrapped around his wrist like a decoration. Her last connection to her older sister.
โSleep well?โ The question asked being mostly satirical but Tamtey knows that a small part of him does mean it. Not because he cares about, not in the simple sense of caring for someone out of worry.
He just canโt let anything too bad happen to a product of his.
She waits though, holding her tongue back from speaking before heโs given her permission. Even with the slight brain fog that is yet to disparate, Tamtey knows better than to speak out of turn.
Mercer smiles, content. Glad to see that even after all this, no matter that his assets was kept in cyro, remembered her training well.
โGood dog. You can speakโ
Tamtey swallows, trying to get her mouth even a little wet with her saliva. She swallows once more, mouth still dry before she speaks.
โWhat years is it?โ The words come out slow, voice cracking.
Mercer hums, leaning back in the chair. The rusted metal creaking under his weight. Tamtey spares another look around the room sheโs in, nothing the dust, broken monitors, rust that has found itโs way through nearly everything.
โToo long. Fifth-teen years to be exact. But you know how to goes, we had much to talk aboutโ
Tamtey looks away from one of the fading posters, the one that showed off natives and humans together. Dressed in human clothes and sharing an ice cream.
She wonders what flavour they were eating.
โDo you know the fucking logistics for trying to explain that one of our own turned coat and screwed up a multi-billion dollar projectโ
Now that Tamtey does remember, just before the chaos. Before Mercer and the others stormed into their classroom, dragging her away from the rest.
She remembers the manic wrath that emitted from her handler. The way he was unable to stop himself from cursing out Jake Sully.
Even now, nothing about the name stands out. Still a faceless man in her mind. But one who was able to change the entire system that the RDA had in place.
He did the impossible. Tamtey can respect him him for that, understanding the level of skill needed to pull of an operation like that. Her own tactical mind thinking of what she wouldโve done.
โAll for some blue pussy. Canโt wait to see him hanging by his neck. Maybe I can bid to have his head mounted on my wallโ
Mercer voice bring her back, looking at the rage in his eyes. Black overtakes any colour in his eyes, teeth biting at his lip to try and calm himself.
โRegardless we needed to recuperate. And in the time it took us to get back everything was prepped and readyโ
Mercer leans forward now, coming to rest on his knees, a manic smile.
โYou see, General Ardmore. The one in charge of this entire operation heard about my little experiment. Wasnโt happy at first when she heard all about the gritty details but she understood me eventuallyโ
Mercer leans forward, eyes manic and grin growing.
โShe understands that this was for the sake of humanityโ
Tamtey thinks of the first time she killed someone. Her own people, the way they begged for mercy. Unable to comprehend how a naโvi was working with the humans.
Tamtey couldnโt offer them anything else but a bullet through their head. Silencing their screams and rage of outcries.
She had to mutilate the body though, unable to leave them to rest even death. Digging out the bullet and stabbing an arrow into place.
They couldnโt let the natives catch wind of what TAP was doing. As doing so would eventually let the RDA catch wind of Mercer and his โambassador programโ
All for the sake of humanity.
โSo she wants you. Knows all about the training youโve undergone, seen all the tapesโ Tamtey feels a sharp zap go through at his words, biting her inner cheeks as to stop the growl that wants to tear itself from her throat.
She never wants to see those tapes.
โThinks that having a blue like you on her side will be more than enough to persuade some of the savages back in Hellโs Gateโ
A dark look passes over Mercers face before he stands up, moving quicker than she expects and before she knows it his hand grips her chin.
Fingers digging into her as he pules her closer, inspecting her with a sick reverence.
โYou may have been sleeping all those years. But I know my training is ingrained into youโ
Tamtey doesnโt move. Back straight and poised as she waits for her next set of orders. Enduring having to be touched by this man.
โDoesnโt matter if Ardmore wants you. Youโll always be my petโ
Mercer tightens his hand, the pressure slowly become harsher under his touch. Her jaw now beginning to feel the discomfort.
He lets go then, Tamtey not moving under his ever present stare. Only letting the faintest of sighs of relief when he turns away from her with a huff.
โSmile for the cameras solider, youโre about to make historyโ
It doesnโt take long for them to start packing and getting ready to move out. Whilst majority of this group that came with Mercer for her would be staying behind in the Frontiers, only two sci-ops would be heading back to Hellโs Gate.
Tamtey follows behind, still tied up in the makeshift cuffs. The material again far too weak to hod her back, but she doesnโt try to escape.
Theirโd be no point anyway.
Itโs not until theyโre walking down the corridor that would take them out of TAP doesnโt Tamtey speak out of turn.
โWait. What about the othersโ
She stops in her steps, uncaring of the humans behind who run into her.
Mercer turns from his datapad, brows furrowed as he looks to her. He doesnโt say anything at first, studying as she waits patiently. A muscle in his jaw twitches before he speaks.
The words unexpectedly stab at her very core.
โDead. They died in cyro. Suffered in their sleep before they had a chanceโ
Tamtey thinks of their faces, of the Sarentu who were trapped here. She couldnโt care less about the likes of Telisi and Yuayt They deserved to die for being so weak.
But not Teylan, Riโnela and Nor. They deserved to live. The only three in that wretched place that kept pushing through, stronger than Tamtey could ever be.
Unwilling to let themselves further into the hole that Mercer tried to push them into.
Tamtey protected them ease and let herself be the punching bag if it meant they stayed out of harms way. Putting Mercers and Harding attention onto her so theyโd be left alone.
โYou can thank your old teacher for that. Alma knew that those pods with faulty. But she didnโt careโ
Alma. Always fucking Alma.
Mercer and Harding were evil. Tamtey would never try and argue otherwise. But they were boldface about their activities, didnโt hid behind pretty words.
Didnโt try and make what they were doing some saint work.
Didnโt try to convince themselves they were the good guys.
Not like Alma, who constantly lied to their faces. Who let the others build up a parental relationship with her.
Standing before them like she had no idea what happened to their family. Like she wasnโt guilty for the genocide.
โLet me kill herโ Tamtey canโt control herself when the words slip through, accompanied by a growl.
Mercer only laughs, shaking his head as he looks back down to his datapad. Barely giving her any attention.
โRabid little dog, but no killing for you. She holds valuable information, so until we extract with whatever means necessary she will stay breathingโ
They come to a stop just outside the the airlock, only meters away from being back outside.
โBut, once weโre done with her. You can do whatever you wantโ
Tamtey gives a short nod before following him into the airlock. Already imagining having Almaโs blood on her hands, one death that she would never feel guilty about.
Itโs the least she could do. Her only way of pence for not being around to protect the Sarentu.
Tamtey looks behind her, ears twitching when she heard the increased thundering of their hearts. Eyes landing on the two guards that keep their guns solely on her.
She can taste the sweat that drips from them, hands shaking as they sloppily keep their fingers on the trigger.
She rolls her eyes, looking back to the front, tail curling in the air, grinning inside when she hears the shift of their boots against the floor. Hands tightening around the gun as they aim directly at the back of her head.
But Tamtey ignores them, focused on the airlock as it pressurises before creaking open. The first that envelops her senses is the smell of fresh air.
Always so different from the stale almost metallic air that would circulate through TAP.
Tamtey waits until Mercer moves first, following him out onto the fading helipad. One that Tamtey had often used when leaving base for her own missions.
It was overrun by now, twists vines of roots and flowers covered the entire floor. The control booth was just as an overrun, the thickest of the vine having smashed through the glass.
Tamtey let herself take in the scenery, walking past Mercer and ignoring the call from her guards to get back.
โLeave it, not like sheโll run anywhereโ he says, uncaring when Tamtey leans over the edge of the helipad, looking down at the world that has now once again become unknown to her.
It was greener, even when she could see from some far distance depot, there was so much more green and trees than last time. Pandora truely had been in the midst of healing after all that time.
If she remembers correctly, there was a clan nearby as. The Aranahe, sheโd only ever visited their base of operations or hometree as they called it.
At night and under the guise of one of their people she had killed. Sheโd been scoping for information, trying to see if there was unobtainum under their hometree. Much like the operation they had been undergoing back in Hellโs Gate.
But it was negative, and only a few days later did the body of Sakรคr, a weaver who was mated to one of their warriors. An arrow dripping with poison through their neck.
โHellโs Gate wonโt be like these passive fucks. Youโll be dealing with Jake Sully and his insurgents as well as the Omatikaya clanโ
Tamtey turns to Mercer, ears flicking as she picks up on the heavy engine and blades of a Samson approaching.
Mercer tilts his head, hand coming out to play with the collar on her neck, fingers lightly brushing over her skin. She keeps herself from flinching, knowing the pain that has befallen her by those very same hands.
โA shame Iโm losing such an asset. But Ardmore will get to see the fruits of my labour, how important TAP isโ
The Samson blades cut through the sky as it approaches, Tamtey moving back a single step as it lands on the heli, a swirl of dust kicking up under them.
As the whirring of the blades settle, Mercer speaks again, just an inch louder than before.
โBe a good pet. If you forget your training, Ardmore is the one whoโll see fit to you punishmentsโ
He leers at her then, stepping closer into her space.
โAnd Iโm far kinder than she will be. So donโt disappointโ
A trio of soldiers exit the Samson, more heavy guarded than the two behind her who can barely hold a gun properly.
The man in front stalks forward, nodding his head at Mercer before turning to Tamtey, a sneer on his face as though he was looking down at her. Sheโs sure, if they were not in front of a superior sheโd have a ball of spit lobbed at her.
โIs the asset ready for transfer director Mercer?โ
His voice smokey and horse almost. When Tamtey listens closely she can hear the stutter in his heart, the slight rasp of his lungs. She takes a subtle sniff and inhales the familiar scent of artificial tobacco.
Mercer only hums, never looking away from her. Even as she turns away from him, and toward the man in front of her. Sheโs unsure if she should say something, a goodbye or see you later. Neither sounds appropriate, too casual for their positions.
โGet in the Samson muttโ Tamtey looks at the man in front of with disdain, the anger clear in her eyes as she stares him down. Relishing in the way he fidgets under stare.
Tamtey respects her superior officers, her handlers and trainers. But dog meat like these foot soldiers. Ones who wouldnโt be able to take her down, not even if they tried to ambush her.
They meant nothing. Entire being valued to a zero sum.
She wasnโt afraid of them. Not the way they feared her so easily.
โTamteyโ she looks back at Mercer, a sardonic smile on his face. As though he would love to see what she could do against them, his bets not on the soldiers.
โBe a good a petโ she acquiesces, nodding her head before brushing past the frozen man, her tail hitting his waist.
Tamtey sits in the middle and watches as they pick up a set of metal cuffs, high-grade and fit for nobody else but naโvi.
Without much a reaction she gives her hands freely, watching as they cut away her poor excuse of restraints before firmly putting them. The metal digging into her skin.
She ignores the three in front of her, looking out the window and where Mercer stands. He waves a hand, as the Samson begins to ascent, a sarcastic little thing.
โDonโt fuck upโ
And yeah, even thought Ardmore is now in charge of her. If all goes to hell, if she fails. She wonโt have any problem droppping this all on Mercer who will make sure Tamtey feels every bit of the punishment.
The collar feels heavier around her neck, her body pulsing in rhythm with the hidden tracker that hides somewhere in her body. An inanimate object that had more rights over her own body than she ever did.
But all Tamtey does is close her eyes, letting the nerves wash away. She doesnโt the time nor luxury for such feelings in her life.
Instead sheโll spend this time on the Samson, locked and under watch mediating and readying herself for the hercules effort she is sure to face in Hellโs Gate.
As they fly further away from the Kinglor Forest, all Tamtey can think about is what type of shitshow sheโs about to dropped in.
All thanks to a human who fell in love with some blue pussy.
๐ฌ๐ต๐ซ ๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ฌ๐บ | umm i dont think i need to touch much on anything? This chapter was pretty sure and sweet, buttt if their is anything youโd like to know more about and need clearing up let me know <3
but im very excited for this. Much inspiration from marvel, ie my favourite characters ever Bucky Barnes, Natasha Romanoff and Yelena Belova ๐ค so that is the type of energy im emboldening in Tamtey
so yay! If youโd like to be tagged for future chapters lmk and Iโll be sure to add you :)
First off please know im super happy to know so many people enjoy my works so much to anticipate it. And i do very much appreciate the love and support <3
But do understand that I am only human, I do have other obligations in my life and I cannot just write all day long. As much as Iโd love to.
So I do kindly ask to refrain from telling me to hurry up and update. This ask was one of the more kinder ones and less forceful.
I write this stuff out of my love, cause it is something I really enjoy doing. So if you donโt like that, and except me to pump out my writing instantly then I am not the writer for you!
Other than that, ty again for all love on writings. I have a very busy month and havenโt had time to write as much. So updates will be slower ๐ค
i respect frontiers of pandora for being the only piece of avatar media (to my knowledge) that points out how grotesque and weird the avatar program really is
The clans have notcied the line between Tamtey and So'lek has begun to blur, but they keep their observations to themselves. They have seen the hardships the two have endured and know the comfort that the two warriors have brought to one another. Yet, they can't help but wonder how much comfort has been found with the other? How long will the line be blurred until it's ultimately crossed? And by who?
The Aranahe notice when Tamtey bounds to the warrior draping silks over his back, So'lek pays her not mind, on the contrary he looks more than content to let her do as she pleases while he works on repairing her saddle. They watch as shows him a silk she seems to like, the only time he breaks away from his task. What he says to her as he takes the silk and drapes it over her own leg is lost to the screeching of ikrans but they can hear her laughter ring bright and clear, her cheeks blooming in color as she blushes.
For the Zeswa, they notice when they see the two eating off the same plate; not an unusual sight, the na'vi tend to share food, but the way So'lek pushes the best pieces towards her, wiping away what remains on her lip has them whispering. Those watching more intently erupt into theories when Tamtey tips the jug of zanke to his lips, holding it steady as he drinks greedily. And as the night progresses they can't help but catcall in surprise as Tamtey pulls him to dance with her.
When the Kame'tire notice they hide it better. They watch from from the corner of their eyes, from the cover of smoke, and darkened corners. They're the witnesses of how Tamtey hisses and chastises the man, poultices dutifully spread over his wounds and bruises; her eyes lined with tears. So'leks ears droop at her tone and at what she says, though his hands always reach to steady her when she leans back just a bit to far. They watch how the warrior whispers quietly, her nails digging into the meat of his bicep; keeping her steady when Okul pulls at the thread weaveing through her wounds.
What they don't see is the gentleness in So'lek hands when he removes the raspu' from Tamtey legs after a long day with the Zeswa, the taste of zanke still heavy on his lips as he coaxes her to bed with hushed promises. They don't see how she traces the trails of bioluminescence that run down his chest, patiently waiting for So'lek to wake as she lays comfortably atop him, the marks of silken ropes still fading from her skin. How, in the dim glow of firelight they tease and laugh, slowly shedding their burdens as warriors and leaders for those of just Tamtey and So'lek. No, no one sees as they find their comfort and home within each other, alongside each other.
The clans see the blurring line, but only they know the truth of how long that line has been broken.
Anywayโฆcurrently working on a new oneshot for loโak, it will be a sister reader! And also working on the next chapter for my family, my responsibility.
Have been playing the dlc in between this all and i get so sad when i see all the people that died and how much of the Kinglor forest was destroyed like ๐
The Sarentu having a sibling relationship is fun to imagine.
Ri'nela and Tamtay sitting and chatting when Nor struts in, pushes Tamtay off her spot or throws a random pillow at her, takes Ri'nela's food out of her hand and eats it. Then proceeds to tip over whatever mundane thing he can find and walking back out. Of course he farts on the way out and leaves the entrance wide open.
Tamtay raiding Ri'nelas clothes to find a top she can wear on a date with So'lek, being found by her and both of them tussleing for the top. Or Ri'nela walking into Tamtey's sleeping area/ pod and seeing it in her basket.
Ri'nela, Nor, and Tamtey playfully teasing Teylan for having a crush (I imagine it's one of the Zeswa sisters) but hissing and going after a random na'vi that says something mean to him. Teylan is their little brother and ain't no one else allowed to give him shit but them.
Teylan, and Nor giving So'lek, Itu, or whatever na'vi their sibling likes the tough sibling talk, "don't hurt our sister" ect. It's mostly Nor being the tough guy and Teylan trying to look intimidating.
Seeing the last of their favorite snack or food and fighting over it. I mean like trying to eat it out of the others hand jumping on each other, maybe someone gets bit.
One of them crying over something or just feeling down and the others showing up to try to make them feel better.
And when So'lek joins he uses his scary dog aura to keep creeps away from them. Tossing tech, and tech scraps at Teylan because he still supportive even though he doesn't understand the appeal. Calling Nor on his BS or being the person Nor vents too and goes for dude advice.
Just sibling relationships with these chaotic gremlins.
