As an intersex person watching this discourse has been mind numbing. Idk people with different reproductive makeups may suffer unique issues to that makeup. Most perisex people AFAB aren't getting prostate cancer, most perisex people AMAB aren't getting endometriosis. Due to medical sexism and misogyny issues pertaining to the uterus, vagina, ovaries, cervix, etc. are going to understudied compared to issues that are unisex or issues that majorly impact perisex cis men. It isn't antithetical to feminism or transfeminism to state that there are issues that are overwhelmingly going to impact a certain demographic and that said issues are under researched and underfunded because of systemic misogynistic and sexist attitudes from our patriarchal society.

There’s also a constant implication that if you’re intersex and have traits associated with people AFAB your problems don’t matter. I know people are getting mad at me for calling out someone who said that people born with vaginas or the associated parts don’t have any unique problems and that I’m intersexist for saying they do. What about intersex people with vaginas? With cervixes? With a uterus or ovaries?

also, emphasising how we were all once eggs is more scientifically accurate. our essence IS the egg, the sperm is just additional building blocks- the most crucial part of the cell (mitochondria) carries the maternal (and ONLY the maternal) genome, and can be traced back to primordial eve, our forebaress. also all foetuses are initially XX coded (so, female, as per the mother’s genetic contribution), and then the genetic material from the sperm interacts with it, and substitues the second sex chromosome (making the foetus male in roughly half the cases, who are literally genetically inferior to females for being such). so no, we were never sperms- we were eggs, and the sperm at best catalysed us into developing.

I was put through conversion therapy as a teenager. There were no electric shocks involved, no chemicals, no beatings. What did happen was a very friendly, charismatic and manipulative woman sat me down twice a week, asked me simple questions about how I experienced attraction and then shamed me and nitpicked every single answer I gave.

It's a subtle psychological torture, no matter how resilient you are it will slowly get under your skin and stay there. Conversion therapy isn't what was portrayed on AHS you idiot children, it's literally the same things I see on twitter every day.
