I feel like this is a safe space to talk about our disappointment and gripes with season 5. Everywhere else I feel is just blind hype, Byler this! Byler that! I get that people love that ship and are so excited, but I have seen little to none conversation about the teens. I only watch for Jonathan, but everyone feels off? In a weird way so those Robin but that's just me.
I mentioned Jonathan's character on a different app/website and I got GANGED on so quickly?? People were like "Good, i'm glad he stays in the background, I dont really like him, shit take." Like okay?? This isnt for you then?? Smh, its rough being a Jonathan fan out here. I am holding out for fics but at this point, I'm kinda tired :( ((@chipsundae))
Yes dear, my blog is a safe spot for that kind of comment! 🙂 I think my blog is the only place online people feel comfortable when it comes to criticizing ST (?), given them amount of asks I receive regarding the show's writing and stuff. I dunno, I don't dive too deep into the ST fandom—it's a scary place, dude!
As a Byler, I am really happy with the content they're giving us. But as a fan of Jonathan, Steve, and Stonathan, I am super disappointed. Jonathan's still a background character, and when he isn't in the background, he's bickering with Steve about nAnCy. 🙄🙄🙄
I too only watch ST because of Jonathan—I often say I am not a Stranger Things fan, but rather a Jonathan fan—and seeing what they did to his character is... Infuriating. And on top of that, they go with the whole "ring" shit? Wasn't he and his gt not talking literally last season? Didn’t Matt Sucker said stuff isn't "well" between them DESPITE the 18 months time jump?! What's worse is jancys seem totally fine with the engagement bullshit despite Jonathan and nancy not being fine??? I've only seen a few people calling murray on his weird and creepy talk with Jonathan—literally me and like four others.
Steve went back to being a jerk, it seems. Robin is okay, I guess—thought I kinda expected her to act a bit more frightened and anxious when Will saw her and Vickie kissing. Vickie is still a character with five minutes of screen time for now. And nancy is... nancy, I guess. Bossy nancy.
I feel really bad for the actors, especially Charlie. He's such an amazing actor, but keeps on being reduced to being a glorified extra. My poor baby.
Btw, my blog is a safe haven for the Jonathan fans—we're on the brink of extinction and need a sanctuary. 😉
