Welcome to our system account, made because being a system publicly is scary, and this is easier!
Please do interact with us, we rarely get to openly interact outside of private spaces, and it'd be great to talk to others freely without fear of exposing who we are.
💖 We're a professionally recognized DID system, working through a shit ton of trauma and who knows what else. (In therapy as of now.)
💝 Be patient, please.
💖 Our system is semi-large, I don't know actual numbers, I as in the host! We're a covert system, and I wasn't really supposed to know yet so I still know fairly little about most things going on.
Please read our Q&A

- Please don't bring NSFW content to this blog, this includes overtly suggestive content, gore, etc.
- Syscourse is unwanted here, I don't care enough to participate and have more things to worry about. I also just straight up don't understand and do not want to. No syscourse here.
- Don't contact me after I block you. If you get blocked, it's likely for a good reason. I'm not a judge, don't try to plead your case to me.
- Discourse in general isn't wanted here, this includes ship discourse or whatever the current internet war is.

A narcissistic trait holder is a role for an alter who holds traits that are found to be narcissistic in the system. They may help manage these traits, or they may enable them. These alters are typically triggered into front when situations arise that affect their narcissism.
There are three types of these holders; positive, negative, and general/neutral.
-A positive narcissistic trait holder may front when the system is praised, rewarded, valued, or elevated in status. Such as a professor highly grading their work and claiming them to be very intelligent or creative, or if the system is given a promotion at their work to a higher position. These holders may front to hold onto the ego boost and keep the memories as evidence that they are indeed better than others. Positive narcissistic trait holders may also be ego holders or confidence holders.
-A negative narcissistic trait holder may front when the system is devalued, disregarded, chastised, or lowered in status. Such as being excluded from activities they felt they should be part of, or ignored by those around them when they feel they deserve praise and attention for hard work. These holders may front to lash out or assert that the system is not at fault for the situation, and may try and find reasoning for failure or try to cope with the situation by participating in activities that boost their ego. Negative narcissistic trait holders may also be anger holders, insecurity holders, or envy holders.
-A general/neutral narcissistic trait holder fronts in any variety of situations, and can fulfill the roles of both negative and positive narcissistic holders. This is a catch all.
NOT EXCLUSIVE TO NPD, coined for anyone who experiences narcissistic traits! However, coiner has NPD, and made this specifically with personality disorders in mind.
That I want to be loved as a collective and an individual, that if you care about one of us you should care about all of us and vice versa.
people often only care about us as an entirety and not our individual needs or only care about individuals and nobody else.
that and I wish people were more okay that while we cycle who fronts, parts who aren't around much aren't gone, just not in front, and it's okay to befriend new parts - we don't bite.
This isn't true. I'm pretty sure what you're referencing is that, in general, historically DID Systems go through Syscovery in their late 20s and 30s. But that research was done before wide internet usage.
I believe @sysmedsaresexist has already done an in-depth post about this. I'm just not sure where the post is to link directly.
Holy shit, yeah, no, that's false, children as young as five have been known to have distinct alters and states. It's totally possible. It's more COMMON for children to experience imaginary play, intrusions, and emotional outbursts, but they can and do have alters. See the ISSTD children and adolescent treatment guidelines, I was just reading this Spiegel paper (DSM author/ chairman) this morning, May 2024, which states,
While there are case reports and case series describing patients with dissociative identity disorder (DID) including among children, adolescents, and geriatric patients... Most patients with DID have reported that symptoms of the disorder first appeared during childhood.
Now that's not specifically about alters, so here's another link.
In time, such a child may begin to emotionally and cognitively split into alternate identities. Research has shown that the average age for the initial development of alters is 5.9 years old.
They definitely can and do have alters, even if it's not the typical presentation. Children really struggle to put words to this experience, and that lends to a lot of confusion in diagnosis, but... yeah, there's tons of case studies on young children with full amnesiac switching and alters.
something about CDDs that I don't see talked about much is how you can just flip your opinion about something in moments and can hold it true for yourself at that moment. like, one of our frequent fronters likes pastel pink. they really really like it.
I absolutely fucking despise it. when asked their favourite colour they go pastel pink and yellow, I'd say it's cornflower blue or gold.
now this is overexemplified but it's what up with us at any given moment. I'm eating something, suddenly I can't stand it anymore, I hate it and I'd rather starve to death than eat it; oh that hobby I like so much! *loud incorrect buzzer* wrong! hate; etc
like our most accurate way of telling if we switched is asking ourselves if something is still true to us. I guess this is what the "people say you're lying when you're actually telling the truth" is about. what I'm saying IS true, but what I said before was also true in that moment, etc
as a system of colour, I just want to set stuff straight about alter race.
alters can have different skin colours to the body, but that does not make them a different race than the body. skin colour is just part of someone's appearance while race has multiple factors to it such as culture.
being a poc is an experience that only someone who is bodily a poc will understand, hence why "alter race" is just impossible.
it's like how an adult alter in a minor bodied system will not have the same mentality as an actual adult since the brain only has the experience of a minor to base that alter off of.
also I know that I've been focusing on poc, but this applies to any race
Remember folks, your alters that PRESENT as a different race, only present that way based on YOUR PERCEPTION of that race. Any backlash or racism they’ve “experienced” is based on the PERCEIVED bigotry against them, because you yourself have not experienced it! <3
Literally just like OP is saying, an adult alter in a minor system is based on that systems PERCEPTION of adults, not on adult experience.
shout-out to people who fit the demonised DID stereotypes seen in movies & other media:
if you have violent &/or aggressive alters, i love you.
if you have complete blackout amnesia between alters, i love you.
if you have little to no communication between alters, i love you.
if your switches are overt & "distressing to witness", i love you.
if you've ever been called "scary", a "freak", or even "evil" for how your DID presents, i love you so much.
your experiences are real. you do not have to sugar-coat your disorder to make it more palatable for others. your brain helped you survive as best it could, so i hope you will find peace & healing when the worst is over. 🤍

shoutout to systems with trauma less commonly talked about in our community
-shoutout to people who grew up in and around the foster care system
-systems who were neglected because their parents prioritized their siblings
-people who have been traumatized by another system
-unwilling loners
-disabled people who've been denied accommodations
-people who have suffered with violent/frightning intrusive thoughts or delusions as long as they can remember
-kids who lost close family members
-people with medical, and also dental trauma
I think sometimes we as a community fall into the "trauma olympics" and forget that lots of things are traumatic to young children. You don't need specific types of trauma to be valid and to deserve care. It's easy to be scared that because you weren't traumatized the same way as someone else that you aren't "really traumatized" or that you're faking your symptoms. But always remember that you were a child, if something bad happened to you and nobody was helping you cope with it, that's enough. Don't invalidate yourself because of trauma that somebody else went through. You are loved, reach out for support if you need it <3
Shout out to systems who are still in unsafe environments, where each day is a struggle. I want you to know I am here for you, rooting for you, and hoping for you to find peace, rest, and healing soon.
Shout-out to systems who have inconsistent memories due to amnesia. Shout-out to systems who can remember some things one day but cannot the next. Shout-out to systems slowly recovering memories. Shout-out to systems trying to piece together traumatic or otherwise stressful memories different alters hold. Shout-out to systems who once had little amnesia but now struggle with a lot.
