love how fast certain sections of this fandom gets back on the 'liking Armand is anti-Blackness' train whenever shit happens with regards to promos. love that tried and true method of shifting the focus here
It is the wildest talking point in this fandom, imo. Like of all the characters....liking Armand/ supporting Assad makes you anti-black... Not Lestat, who's relationship with Louis starts off rocky because he is unwilling to understand and sympathize with Louis about the racial inequality he continues to face, even as a vampire. Not Lestat who is also complicit in the lynching of Louis and Claudia. Not Sam who has been praised above Jacob the whole run of the season and people complained up and down that he wasn't in it as much (and ofc i have to say: Sam himself isn't the problem but AMC for putting him up over the others and Award committees for not acknowledging the astounding work of of JA) But Armand...another man of color- who is no better, but certainly no worse than Lestat. Complicit and Evil, yes, In the lynching and minstrelcy of My Baby Loves Windows. But that enjoying him specifically must mean you are against black people. That wanting Assad to recieve his flowers, too- is distracting from supporting Jacob and Delainey, even though we should be trying to uplift all the cast. That the love and support of one cast member shouldn't come at the disrespect of the others.
