ok SORRY i conked out last night but!!!!

this is rhe beautiful goddess i want to talk about yayaya

her name is prism star cookie!!

fun fact. her little wings and head piece are based on the sycamore lace bug ✨

anyyyywaays prism star's whole thing is that she was one of 13 cookies who were baked over time to watch over cookiekind on behalf of the first cookies

this group is known as the starlight cookies!! but note that there's more of them out there in space

prism star is the second to be baked because gelatin star (her mother) was kinda losing it hated working on her own, so the witch that made her baked prism star for her

prism star would go on to visit around earthbread and even as a little kid (to teenager) was viewed as a goddess due to her radiant power and to some (who she was willing to tell), it was because she was baked by a witch

note that their recipe contains stardust from various stars made by a witch (who herself is actually a star) which means they have witch forms but it takes strong emotions to release them

fun fact about the starlight cookies (and any cookie that descends from them or their magic somehow). they cant really dream (not as in aspire to do things, but ACTUALLY dream. nothing goes on while they sleep). they have to take in the magic from certain things or fulfill enough wishes of other cookies to start dreaming

this is why prism star went to the world of dreams actually. where she met divine cream ya

but in the world of dreams, she took on a form similar to a witch (i gotta draw her) and instead went by the name priya

after a long time of ending up in the world of dreams whenever she slept, prism star found herself wandering to the pancake tower, where she finally met divine cream in person

anyways cut to the sealing of the oven and prism star spends her time trying to convince the guardians to let her rid of the witch (daccus if you dont remember) in the tower herself, but they simply decide seal the witch up. which causes prism star to escort as many residents as she can out of the tower until the oven's been sealed, as she believes the tower is unsafe (foreshadowing)

some, who she didn't have time to save, she gave teleportation crystals to, which were tied to her brooch.

the brooch is. its own can of worms

anwaaays the brooch started growing flowers of prism star's memories (known as sorrowblooms, they are EXTREMELY poisonous. kill quickly when consumed, kill slowly when inhaled) and this is how like 3 of them found out prism star is technically a witch and was baked with the knowledge witches have hence why she insisted on killing daccus

unsure what to DO about the sorrowblooms' rapid growth around where prism star abandoned her brooch, they tossed that in the oven too. (NO. NO. NOOOOOO-)

anyways. prism star's dynamic with the guardians is kinda just "knows how to be a god because she was raised by them" and "barely knows what they're doing actually because they were raised to be normal (albeit emotional) adults and still subconsciously cling to that"

I think it's incredibly important to remember that bad people can still be likeable people. And that in fact, a lot of bad people are deliberately likeable, and use their likeability as armor.

It's harder to disagree with, or disapprove of, or convince other people that a likeable person is a bad one. It's so much easier to discredit your victims and sow doubt when everyone likes you.

I see a lot of media criticism of movies and tv shows at the moment, where people deem villains as 'too likeable' and 'too human' and 'its too hard to see him as a villain because of X and Y.'

And that is the whole fucking point.

Bad people often cloak themselves in likeability in order to escape the consequences of their actions and choices. Bad people are not always doing bad things 24/7.

Fun Story: My director kept telling me and my tenor sax buddy to play softer. No matter what we did, it wasn’t soft enough for him. So getting frustrated, I told my buddy “Dont play this time. Just fake it” 

Our Band Director then informed us we sounded perfect.

On the contrast, “f” means loud, and “ffff” probably means so loud you go unconscious.

Okay yeah so I play the bass clarinet and the amount of air you have to move and the stiffness of the reed means it only has two settings and that is loud and louder, with an optional LOUDEST that includes a 50% probability of HORRIBLE CROAKING NOISE which is the bass equivalent of the ubiquitous clarinet shriek.

One day, when I was in concert band in high school, we got a new piece handed out for the first time, and there was a strange little commotion back in the tuba section — whispering, and pointing at something in the music, and swatting at each other’s hands all shhh don’t call attention to it. And although they did attract the attention of basically everyone else in the band, they managed to avoid being noticed by the band director, who gave us a few minutes to look over our parts and then said, “All right, let’s run through it up to section A.”

And here we are, cheerfully playing along, sounding reasonably competent — but everyone, when they have the attention to spare, is keeping an eye on the tuba players. They don’t come in for the first eight measures or so, and then when they do come in, what we see is:

The entire band stops dead, in the cacophonous kind of way that a band stops when it hasn’t actually been cued to stop. The band director doesn’t even say anything, just looks straight back at the tubas and makes a helpless sort of why gesture.

In unison, the tuba players defend themselves: “THERE WERE FOUR F’S.”

FFFF is not really a rational dynamic marking for any instrument, but for the love of all that is holy why would you put it in a tuba part.
