I’m a fandom hopper, I tend to be quiet for awhile and then spam reblog something when I am obsessing with it at that time. I’m a mild furry I guess?? and I love videogames and have been getting into anime a bit but have a hard time getting into things that are new to me, mostly just jump around my previous interests.

I’m part of a system and am nonbinary, most of the time it’s just River that posts things, reblogs might be other members occasionally but it’s almost never relevant who is fronting so it’s not gonna be indicated usually. If it’s actually us saying something we might tag who is posting but we might forget. collectively they/them is good :)

I don’t want to spend energy defending my existence as a trans person or a system so if you are particularly upset by systems or nonbinary people that don’t fit your expectations then I suggest you take those discussions elsewhere. I am bad at tagging things but if you follow me and want things tagged to avoid them let me know and I’ll try to tag em when I post/reblog.

If you’re familiar with the source of whoever is fronting please don’t interact with us as if we are the actual character, we love engaging in fandom spaces and viewing our sources as separate entities without taking things in as being about us, we’re a fictive heavy system but rarely do we align with our sources on much and it’s just awkward being talked to like a roleplay or whatever lol

I block people for many different reasons, if I block you, please don’t assume it’s personal, but also don’t just try to get around it, I most likely have a reason

I need to tell you that designing Contrarian was pretty tricky. The first major decision was whether he should be white or the same black silhouette that the other designs have. The idea of him being the opposite from the others isn't that original, but it's a sweet idea nonetheless. But I can tell from here that when (or if) I do an animatic including Contrarian, it will be hard to keep him readable with the same backgrounds as the other voices. Luckily, Slay the Princess is a very dark visual game... Sooooo who knows! But I really wanna push Contrarian's design to be more of a simple shape/silhouette like the others. But from now on, he'll have more outlines to make him more readable on lighter backgrounds. So there is a possiblity his design will change in the future.

For Cheated, it was pretty easy. Making Contrarian and Cheated echos each other's contrasts yet also parallels just makes sense. Cheated being spiky and small, Contrarian being round-shaped and big. Yet they have some similar characteristics, they have the same tail and round wing shapes.

Also! I have a sweet headcanon that Contrarian being the only voice that is light is due to him representing the rough tear of TLQ and Shifty. Kinda like, he is the part of the Princess that is inside TLQ. ^^

I also have another visual storytelling design that the Contrarian is the only one who doesn't have a 'void monster' form or whatever you want to call it. I've shown it before with Smitten and Cold in my Burned Grey animation, and now here with Cheated. The monster forms are supposed to show when a voice feels an extreme emotion, (for Cold is like any kind of emotion at all XD ) OR to put it better, is close to their own way of untethering. Contrarian never really has that mental spiral, except in the Fury (kinda...)

can I be honest? I was so pissed off by friends and family criticizing my soap choice that, for half a year, I did an experiment where I washed one hand with Palmolive and one with handsoap, to prove that it didn't make your skin any rougher. and do you know what the result is? it does make your skin rougher. and now I'm even more pissed off.

I love this. This is the beauty of the honest scientific process. You had an idea, you tested it and you still reported the results even though the results disproved your idea.

It's ok to be mad at it, you're an honest scientist.
