we simply don’t talk about Roy being a child athlete enough. I know there’s less emphasis on it in canon than for Dick but it really is so important to me. That boy was at least semi-well known, at least in a local scene. I don’t remember if it’s elaborated on what level he was at but competitions where Green Arrow’s stopping by and sabotage is something worth doing says to me it’s serious. He was canonically not well-off living with Brave Bow, do you think he was competing for prize money? Enough to make him a source of income?

Idea: Batman is so good at pretending to be supernatural that the Devil (or someone adjacent) goes after him thinking he’s a demon who snuck on Earth after making a deal with Bruce Wayne or some shi.

building off that, the Devil thinks Bruce Wayne made a demon deal to get a demon attached to his soul to do his dirty work (hence Batman). so the Devil travels to earth to rip the Bat out of his soul and throw out whatever weak idiot of a demon made that deal. but when he tries to touch the Bat, he can’t get a grip on it. it’s not a demon. it’s so much worse. and when he tries to touch Bruce Wayne instead, Gotham roils and bucks him off so hard, he goes plummeting back into Hell faster than the first time.

actually makes me kind of insane but I just realized Bruce’s suit faces the Robin memorial case in BVS. an empty set of Batman’s armor is always watching Dick/Jason, even when Bruce himself isn’t in the Cave. Batman is always looking at his greatest failure. i’m gonna be sick—

batman is one of those characters where i can read one of his comics and think “man. what a great guy. despite all his paranoia and obsessive tendencies he has a deep love for humanity that pushes him to make the world a better place. i don’t understand why so many people hate him.” and then i read another one of his comics and i think he should die in a glue trap
