Fucking MLP has better lore than some of these idiots' headcanons. And what, authors should listen to the fucking fandom? Sometimes maybe. I don't want a diverse story for the sake of a diverse story, I want a diverse story because it's not fucking BORING.
There is a BIG fucking problem with people giving certain characters traits that don't fucking fit them. Now, I'm not going to bash that specifically because tbh that's tame in comparison to what I'm bitching about, but holy FUCK at least don't be more rabid than a fucking raccoon when the fucking AUTHOR discredits it.
I've seen someone literally break down because of an update to one of my favorite games. One of the new enemies, even though they have female voicelines, aren't officially female - instead, they're indeterminate. Because they're an angel. Gamer literally fucking broke down. What the fuck. Why is that your priority. Instead of a good fucking game, instead of FUCKING ENJOYING the fucking game, y'oughta go bweehhh bweehhhhhh because… why? It's not confirmed? GAMER JUST FUCKING HEADCANON IT. I DO. I HEADCANON THEM AS FEMALE BECAUSE "well, they sound like that, and look like that, so it makes sense 🤷♀️" HOW FUCKING HARD IS THAT
Some of these THINGS don't even want to think. They want their thinking done by the author. And to that, I say COWARD. Filthy, lazy fucking COWARDS claiming false solidarity with people who are actually dying. There is a fucking reason that "profic" exists - it's PRO FICTION. …Why is that problematic? Fiction is fake for a reason. Put your own morals in your own stories, and if you don't like what fiction you see, turn off the screen and FUCK OFF.

I avoided touching on this 'cos I don't want to seem like a phobe but deadass. If a character ain't queer, IT AIN'T. Headcanon all you want, CANON IS CANON. AUTHOR TAKES PRIORITY. I feel like they WANT being LGBTQ+ to be fucking commercialized and treated as an exotic label to be applied all willy-nilly. FOR THE EVER-IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION, my specific problem is not headcanon, it's people thinking their headcanon is canon when it fucking ain't and thusly ending up like a rabid fucking animal when pointed out.
