TVL season finale thoughts
•••
I liked a lot of it. I disliked a lot of it.
The score, the dinner, the editing and acting all phenomenal.
Is it fair to say Daniel Hart is the true standout this season?
So… the Armand and Louis scene. I have a lot of thoughts because a part of me loves seeing Armand act out but, like many, I agree it was directed at the wrong person.
Them making him another twist in a finale with the Fraudia reveal was like… okay? Idk
I love Armand and he’s capable of such atrocities but my issue is all of it being so calculated and coordinated (and directed at Louis). Louis apologizing to him disappointed me. I feel like we could’ve had this convo in a different setting with that same horror feel and understanding. Seeing that Jacob sees it as something good confuses me but he’s got that.
All that being said, the “you were 12” scene did make me cry. Assad did so much with what he was given. His character deserves better. Louis deserves better, too.
I was so sure we’d get a scene with Lestat on stage and the huge cliffhanger of him being kidnapped but I wasn’t disappointed it happened, I get why they didn’t go that way.
The Raglan/Great Conversion storyline is really interesting and I’m very curious where it’s going since Lestat considers him a friend after everything is said and done. Also Daniel bearing his fangs at him make me think they’ll call back to that scene in season 4.
The Paul scene made me weeeep.
Need Gabriella GONEEEE and I’m glad Louis will (temporarily) be by Lestat’s side to guide him away.
So my main issues were with the Armand/Louis scenes but I can appreciate Assad’s acting and I still support her YOU CANT MAKE ME STOP LOVING HER.
