Hmm, well, Ivan Coyote published most of their books while they IDed as a butch lesbian, but now IDs as non-binary. (And their books are all amazing.) I especially recommend Gender Failure, which is written with another non-binary author(/musician), Rae Spoon (review here).

What I know so far on the ADL and Pewdiepie controversy
Summary of event
Pewdiepie had said he was going to donate $50,000 to the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) in his 100 million subs video. After backlash from many in his community, he decides not to donate to them anymore and instead a different organization/charity. This causes backlash from many people.
Facts
- The ADL is a Jewish organization that strives to protect the Jewish community and all from defamation and hate. It also calls itself an anti-hate group.
- In his video, he says that he was advised to donate to them and that the planning took place during his wedding and honeymoon, making him have to rush and not have time to research thoroughly about the organization. He feels it’s not genuine if he donates to them now and will choose a charity he really likes.
Things I’ve heard
I’ve heard that the ADL isn’t really a very good organization and have done some bad things, and something in the lines of trying to force Iceland to withdraw a circumcision ban. These are the reasons why some people weren’t happy Pewdiepie was donating to them. I have not seen sources for these claims yet.
So what I’m not sure is if the ADL is actually a good organization or not. Does anyone have any proof of ADL actually being a bad group?
Edit: So it seems that the ADL is anti-queer, anti-black, and anti-arab. I think that definitely makes them a bad group.

I have a lot of feelings about the whole Pewdiepie ADL story, but I feel like if I say anything, Tumblr will personally crucify me. It isn't even the fact that i want to "defend" Pewdiepie, but it's like the whole situation is the straw that broke the camels back.
"Well, if it isn't about him, and you don't want to get into arguments with people online, why say anything at all?"
Because, it annoys me when people don't research anything. When they just get their news from some half assed article that regurgitates the same recycled horse shit for likes and veiws.
The fact that there is no journalistic integrity anymore, and journalists will just sink their teeth into anyone with a pulse and a controversy.
When cancel culture has gotten so out of hand that it's turned into borderline McCarthyism. The fact that no one is allowed to change, or grow, or move on from their past.
When life in general has become so black and white, you're either here or you're there, and either way you loose. When there are actual Nazis allowed to march in the streets, the kkk is still rampent, abortion laws are worse than ever, the police can still do whatever the fuck they want, straight pride is a thing, and all I can see is "What Pewdiepie's controversy is this week," and, "You wont beleive what Dave Chappell said in his latest comedy special."
The fact that things like political correctness, the #me too movement, black lives matter, body positivity, feminism, are all wonderfull things. Things that should be taken seriously, but we all look like fucking jokes, because there is such a thing as being too left leaning.
The fact that everyone is walking on eggshells all the time, just holding our breath, because we've become so concerned about how other people perceive us. Last time I checked, I dictate my morals, not you.
So, what am I trying to say? What the fuck does this all mean? Do I even have a point?
So, apperently Pewdiepie is in the news again. He said in a video that he'd give $50,000 to ADL, as a charity thing for hitting 1 mil subs. This got a lot of backlash, saying he was just doing it to gain sympathy. Saying that it's all a conspiracy and ADL blackmailed him. People saying that ADL is sketchy and he shouldn't have donated to them in the fist place. This then caused him to back out of the donation, saying that he was trying to donate to ADL because he felt somewhat responsible for what happend in New Zealand, since his name was used and everything. He realized that this wasn't honest, doubled with the sketchy things ADL has apperently done. He's going to pick another charity to donate to. That's it. That's the story.
Well that seems simple enough. It's whatever, and I go about my day. I then go on tumblr, youtube, twitter, ect. To see everyone freaking out. People cherry picking things from his comment section, analyzing his clothing, literally finding anything to call him a Nazi, and it's just like. You're all fucking lunatics. Why are you wasting your time with this? In the big scheme of things this means absolutely nothing at all. If you wanna call Pewdiepie out for backing out due to his fans. Fucking go for it, I don't care. If you hate his guts, because of shit he's done in the past. Whatever it's you opinion. The fact that you're over analyzing this story, that is based around conspiracy, literally pulling shit out of thin air, and trying to slander this guy again, is like? That's not ok! It isn't! Going online is so fucking exhausting.
Ok, that was it. That's the rant. For what it's worth I'm not a racist, or an anti-semite. The fact I feel the need to point that out is stupid. I know who I am, regardless of what people might call me in the comments. Hell, people might not even care enough to comment on this post. It's just this has been a weight on my chest for a while, and I guess, if it was worth anything to write this long ass mess of a post. At least I feel like I can breathe again.

We didn’t start this war internet users have with ads - We might have moaned about banner ads, but it was only when they started making noises when we might be listening to music or a podcast or whatever, causing two sound sorces at once, that we started trying to block ads universally rather than just a specific type of ad (pop ups).
And since then ads have gotten worse - Actual malware rather than merely breaking one of the fundamental sins of web design - though shalt not autoplay anything with sound. And the more aggressive a website is with ‘please turn off adblock’ the less I trust it to bother to vet ads and advertisers to make sure they’re not installing malware.
Not to mention that the idea that avoiding ads is “freeloading” is hilariously backward. Advertisement is a transaction between the platform and the advertiser, the user has no obligation to provide the views/clicks the platform has promised. Using an adblocker isn’t freeloading in the same way that leaving the room to get a snack during a commercial break isn’t cheating the tv network.
Ok y’all, I work as a web developer and I’m here to tell you that you are 100% right and that it’s shit. SO I’m going to tell you how to get around websites that block you from using their website if you’re using an adblocker.
Every website uses a language called JavaScript; long story short it’s a website language that allows developers to do the crazy shit you see on websites. Now the easiest thing to do is to disable JavaScript to stop them from knowing you have an adblocker:
Oh no! I’m blocked from viewing the website. It would be a terrible shame if I were able to right click and select the “inspect” feature
Click the three dots in the top right and open the “Settings” Menu
And then scrolled down to “Debugger” and checked the “Disable Javascript Option”
And then just refreshed the page
