Hey! We recently discovered we may be a system and wanted a place to chronical our journey into plurality! Pro-endo b/c we don't have the right to dictate the validity of anyone's experience. Bodily 26, collective they/em pronouns. Nice to meet you!
Ok time to make an intro post I've put it off long enoughโ
Hi! We're the Coral Cabin Collective ๐ชธ๐ฒ! A newly-discovered system experimenting with tulpa/willomancy as a way to give our (mostly fictive) headmates more autonomy within the system! We're still new to the plural community, and finding our way through the brain fog and syscourse drama.
We aren't interested in fighting about who's more or less valid than who, we've seen enough of that in our 26 years on this Earth and frankly couldn't care less how or why anyone else's system came to be. That being said, please be patient and polite if we happen to say anything wrong! This is largely a process of trial and error and we're bound to make mistakes along the way! More details below the cut!
Our system consists of:
Kat - (๐ง๐พ) OCtive of our first OC, likely split from our original host around middle/high school and went dormant. We've been slowly getting her back with the resources we've found!
Peter - (๐ท๐ค) Fictive of Peter Parker, Raimiverse-adjacent. An old comfort character that became close to our hearts and made himself at home in our head. Role unknown.
Harry - (โจ๏ธ๐) Fictive of Harry Osborn, Raimiverse-adjacent. Formed alongside Peter, usually accompanies him. Rarely seen alone, but seems pretty chill. Role unknown.
Mike - (๐ฅ๐ฆ) Fictive of Michael Afton, game-based, but also heavily influenced by fandom and "You're the Band!" Anger holder and protector.
Grace - (๐๐ฃ) Fictive of Ryland Grace, info to come
Ken - (๐ซ๐) Fictive of Ken (chosen name Kendall), from the Barbie movie. Formed super recently due to our fixation on Project Hail Mary retriggering an older fixation. Caretaker?
Raoul - (๐โ๏ธ) Fictive of Raoul de Chagny from Phantom of the Opera, mostly the book and musical versions. Role unknown.
Simon - (๐ฉธ๐ฆ) Fictive of Simon (Iron Lung), info to come
Kie - (๐๐ชฒ) "Host" of the system, very frontstuck and hoping understanding ourselves a little better will help us unmask! It's all a little blurry, but we're getting there :]
This blog is mainly a place to take notes on our experiences and find people like us, finding their own ways of understanding their plurality <3
Oh also, our name and icon is based on our first (and currently only) tattoo, and our headspace being a cabin! ^^
Switching is the process of changing who controls your system's body, mind, or other central resources. A switch can be voluntary or involuntary, and controlling and managing switching is a learnable skill.
Switching isn't a universal plural experience, but when systems do switch, they might experience it in a variety of different ways. It doesn't always feel like "changing places"!
This chart can't cover all possible experiences of switching, but it does talk about some of the more common switching experiences that we've had.
Image ID below the cut; there's also a spliced copy of the image for folks who need a different aspect ratio for comfortable viewing.

Some (but not all!) systems experience switching. Switching is when the system member in control of your body changes.
There are a lot of different ways that switching can be experienced. It doesn't always feel like "changing places"!
Many nicknamed examples of switching experiences are given:
The light switch, which is the stereotypical idea of switching. One person is immediately and cleanly replaced by another.
The becoming, which is more of a gradient or slider than changing places. One person slowly shifts until they become someone else.
The "two hours later"- sometimes switching can take a long time.
The "when did that happen? Apparently we switched?", where someone has been in control for an extended period of time but only realizes much later.
The possession ("mine now!"), where one system member shoves another out of control to take it for themselves.
The trigger, where a trauma trigger causes one system member to freak out. This prompts someone less affected by that trigger to switch in to handle it.
The vacuum filler, where one person ditches front and someone else is pulled forward to take their place.
"Pikachu, I choose you!", where one system member pulls someone else into control.
The revolving door ("Hello! Goodbye! Hello!"), where system members rapidly trade control of your body in quick succession. If you experience amnesia between system members, then this can be pretty disorienting.
The ensoupening- sometimes, you switch and it's not really clear who you are anymore.
The "what the fuck? What were you even doing???" where you suddenly find yourself in a very unexpected, disorienting, or bizarre situation that you weren't entirely aware was happening a few seconds ago- for example, finding yourself sitting at a desk while your headphones play incredibly chaotic music that you wouldn't pick personally.

Ah yes. Always fun rediscovering old fixations and asking ourselves "hey wait is there a guy for that?" And suddenly our decades old fanfictions are being added to... anyways how is everyone else doing today?
so things that happened since i started tomodachi life yesterday. raoul fell instantly in love with erik (who is still tefusing to reciprocate) BUT they've moved in together and erik considers raoul his best friend. so
If there's anything plurality has made me realize it's that nobody actually has a perfectly consistent state of self, it's all a ploy by Big Singlet to sell LESS pronouns. it's cuz they're shorting the market y'see
We have discovered that there is no greater joy than drawing your headmates with them cheering you on in the bg. The amount of joy radiating off of Ken rn could power the sun X'D
Just seen a guy laugh at how a 'fake' DID system "slipped up" and said "I" instead of "we" and my god does this only go to show that these fakeclaimers know NOTHING about us or our disorder and yet they think they know better than the literal people WITH the disorder.
Like I already knew this but seeing this guy act so smug about 'exposing a faker' with the most nothing burger evidence ever makes me want to commit homicide no joke. ^^
They try to act like they're helping DID systems by 'rooting out the fakers', but in reality they're merely trying to restrict disabled people's way of expressing themselves comfortably. They don't really see any of us as actual people and are just looking for yet another way to feel superior to and suppress disabled people in a less frowned upon way.
Does he not realize... that the seperate alters... might have distinct thoughts and opinions to express? Sometimes I is the more appropriate pronoun bc THERE ARE DIFFERENT PEOPLE WITHIN THE SYSTEM??? HELLO???
i had a strangely touching dream where my mind was parasitized by this frankly scary/gross looking weird immobile alien worm thing, but it meant me no harm and only wanted to get to experience life through me
Reminder to all systems, traumagenic or not, that your existence is not hateful, ableist or evil! Forming by other reason other than trauma is not erasing or excluding anyone's existence! You are not evil for explaining your identity and you deserve so much love and care from every1 !!! You deserve to live a happy life and you shouldn't listen to assholes who spread negativity on the internet !! :)
Ykw this actually explains why we hated the "smart hulk" plotline in Endgame so muchโ because the past two movies established that the Hulk was his own person, and his autonomy was stripped from him. Sure, it could be seen as a metaphor for fusion, but his entire personality was erased and replaced by Bruce. There aren't a whole lot of (good, at least) plural-coded characters in mainstream media, so seeing a character we related to get turned into a parody of himself just... hurt. Everything we liked about him was taken away and turned into a big joke.
Experimented a bit with a new way of detailing the tiles. Kinda like it? This particular piece took a hell of a lot of work. Iโd love if you shared the vibes itโs giving off, for research purposes ๐
