I love this post as a feminist however I feel it is wrong to label what feminists say. I agree with the statement of the women not being allowed to work just as much as women had the option of working and did work for the world. In many places it took time for women to start working in many places it’ll take decades, some places accessibility becomes easier, others it becomes harder. As someone living in a third world country I have only ever seen women working around me and always will see that, I hope so, for women to put much in this world and inspire everyone around them to do the same is what I want to see always.
Women have worked, worked hard, and got a credibility, some who didn’t at first, and some who still haven’t. Yet they still worked, because men weren’t as big as a threat for them as the women who don’t even get the chance to work.
The girls and women who are forced off into marriages, sold in paper bags, and what not. How can you disregard such a thing, such a brave thing that women had to endure after which they still manage to be themselves, still manage to not let that ONE event change their lives and if lucky, make something great out of it.
Malala yousafzai didn’t take no for an answer, she went through great trauma, however she didn’t let that define her, she went on, she studied, she was able to make something great out of her story that worked in her favour.
But then again, the women who are forced into labour, marriage, rape, abuse, trauma, etc. are falling, they are falling because men won’t allow them to work, they won’t allow them to breathe, they are treated like shit, they are treated as objects. Literally.
Even with great work, women aren’t credited.
And even with great capabilities they simply aren’t given the same opportunities or likeness as men.
Whether that’s workplace, home, etc.
I wanna go on and on but I’ll stop yet I’ll say one last thing.
SOME women had the chance to work without men being a threat big enough to control them
SOME women did not have the chance to work because they had a threat big enough to control them
SOME women did have the chance to work yet a big threat DID stopped them.
SOME women did not have the chance to work yet a big threat DID NOT stop them.
Men cannot rewrite history if the same issues still remain.
Until change comes to current living conditions of women who are silenced, NO one can rewrite history.
