Hey, im gonna make a more detailed post soon so keep an eye out, but Im gonna be opening art commissions in April as there's an opportunity with my college for me to go to a prestigious gastronomy school in Normandy France for three weeks over the summer but I need to fundraise money to cover my flight and ensure I can pay my bills while missing three weeks of work. I try to keep my commissions on the cheaper side being 20$-100$, with 100$ being really detailed, full backgrounds, and multiple characters; and 20$ just being simple line work of 1-2 characters depending on detail.

Reblogging this a year in advance
Had thisqueued up just in case.
Never research horse travel speeds and limitations for your fan fiction; it is cursed knowledge. It will ruin your ability to enjoy horse-travel related fiction forever. They never rest the horses. They never change horses. They run flat out for days. The more you learn the more you'll realize that most modern writers treat them like cars.
the wheel of time series is the exception to this, robert jordan knows too much about horses for his own good
tolkien invented a magic horse to justify doing this and then people say 'that's just a normal horse though'
Reblog if you love βββ and have never used ChatGPT
Emily Dickinson canβt reblog this but she loved herself an em dash.
Here's a "secret" about spotting AI writing: you cannot do so from any one piece of evidence.
"Dashes mean it's AI." No they don't. If that's all you've got, you're not capable of spotting AI.
AI is trained on real writing. It doesn't use any single style more frequently than real people do. Generative AI is incapable of creating an original style. That means 100% of AI writing styles are real styles people commonly use.
If you have only one single piece of evidence that writing is AI, then your confidence at detecting AI is far greater than your skill at doing so.
The weirdest perspective I've seen around this is people claiming vehemently that no real person could possibly ever use an em dash because it's just so difficult. So incredibly difficult, to just tap the dash key twice and watch it autoconvert. π
am I ok? Yes. Did I cry watching edits last night? Also yes.
still ok over here so I made another one
just to finish the set. still perfectly ok π₯Ή
The End
Holy heck, itβs the end of On The Rocks.
Thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with me, and who has supported this story.
Most especially, thank you @rbkzz . You are etched on my heart, my soul and my life forever, and Iβm so fucking glad about it.
Iβll never truly leave this story, but for now, the story is as complete as any story ever is. β€οΈ

At long last, here is my finished project for Carry On's 10th Anniversary ππ
I desperately want to live in a world where Carry On has an animated adaptation. And while I'm not capable of bringing that dream to life in its entirety, I figured I could at least I could put together product mockups for a fictitious limited edition Blu-ray release! So here it is, styled after the many wonderful anime boxsets by Sentai Filmworks~
All 24 episodes across 2 discs
Bonus disc with clean OP/EDs, outtakes, behind-the-scenes featurette & "10 Years of Carry On" anniversary special
Postcards of the main cast
42-page art book with character designs, production sketches, storyboards & more
Double-sided commemorative coin
Metallic pins of the main cast
Enamel pin of the Sword of Mages
Massive thank you to my husband, who did 90% of the 3D modeling work. And also huge thanks to him, @foolofabookwyrm-activated and @caitybug for being my sounding boards and sanity tests throughout this months-long process. I would have simply perished trying to do this all by myself. Love you guys terribly.
You can find some of the art assets used under the cut π
I drew something for @cosmicalart for the CO 10th Anniversary exchange! π
Full piece up on AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/72849336
(Hopefully tumblr doesn't massively compress the image) Here's my piece for the anniversary gift exchange to @zoupiee , you stated you love obscurity and being made to think so hopefully this piece achieves that. Simon hitchhiking to Baz's in the main inspiration for the piece
possession horror where the thing possessing the autistic character causes them to behave in a more neurotypical way. autistic possession horror where the thing inside you is easier to communicate with than you are, the thing inside you doesnβt have a flat affect, the thing inside you doesnβt let your body stim, the thing inside you is how you were told to behave and you can only do it when you are no longer you. autistic possession horror where you will never forget that everyone liked it better than you before they found out something was controlling you. autistic possession horror where they know whatβs inside you isnβt you and debate whether it would be easier for everyone to leave you like this anyway. you agree. reblog.
On the subject about parents needing to control their child's reading and invade their privacy in order to "protect" them from "inappropriate material:
Until I was in....college? At least? The vast, vast majority of the books I read were either a) assigned by my school or b) (the vast majority of my reading) provided to me by my mother.
My mom is a librarian. She filled our rooms with books, picked especially for us. She pointed out books on the shelves in our home library (separate from our bedroom shelves) that she thought we would like. She bought us books for birthdays, Christmas, and just stacks of recommendations. She once paid me $10 to read one of the Cirque Du Freak books because she said I needed "to be exposed to bad literature."
She respected my privacy in room, didn't go through my belongings. She explicitly pointed out to us that she wouldn't know if we took a particular book of the shelf, as long as we returned it, if we didn't want her to know we were reading it. She purposely brought us books that she didn't care for herself, because she thought we might find them valuable or enjoyable.
And if we wanted to read something she thought might upset or disturb us, she would explain why. She wouldn't stop us from reading it - just ask us to check in with her, to talk through it.
And so when I read something that upset or disturbed me, I would go to her. She would listen and talk through it with me.
If she said she didn't think I would like something, or that a book might disturb me, or that she thought I should wait until I was older, I listened to her.
She didn't need restrictions or control to protect me. Because she proved I could trust her.
Controlling kids is never about "protecting" them. It's just about control.
