I recieved my book today in the mail! Thank you to #TheOrderOfTheGoodDeath @thegooddeathstore I'm excited for this read and I'm positive this book will be very informative, educational and reassuring for my future work as an Art Therapist. Non-subjective fluid art. Acrylic on canvas. Many confuse this with just abstract art. Don't get me wrong, it is a form of abstract art and is placed in this large category but abstract art is defined by capturing reality in a loose form. This painting which me and Laura co-created I believe would fall into non-subjective (because we weren't trying to illustrate something) fluid (because we get pour paint onto the canvas to begin before I went up with details) art. This was mine (and Laura's) first piece done in this form. Definitely a learning curve for myself since I didn't research anything before I began pouring paint everywhere with Laura. But at least it was fun! We gave this piece to Laura's sister for her birthday :) but we still need a title! Memaloose - Island of the Dead Swipe to read more about the island of the dead. As I mentioned before, the various topics surrounding death interest me. At my previous college I was in the middle of earning certification in death, dying, loss, transformation and renewal. Government strategy of Prevention Through Deterrence when death is a success. Over ten thousand people have died in the desert from the harsh conditions. I just recently came across #AskAMortician and I truly love her videos. This one hits home since my family were migrant workers and the current laws and fears impact our lives greatly.
