A light in my house suddenly turned on- AND WHO DO I SEE?!?!
I'm sifting thru fics like itās 1848 and I'm panning for gold in the river
Freakish little beast
āit may look like i made a whole series of games about man ass, but i am not gay.ā
Thank god I remembered to share this before june ends
Give it up to Cobra Bubbles regaining his composure and going back to business with Nani after having Stitch randomly chuck a heavy ass book at his face like that.
He probably was fuming by the time he got into his car after his shades became a casualty of the attack.
"Thus far you have been adrift in the sheltered harbor of my patience" is the most amazing line what the fluff. We don't just forget how clever the screenplay was comedy wise and profound emotionally, it often did both at once my goodness
Underrated take on one of my favorite movies that I refuse to let you leave in the tags
I canāt stop thinking about this video
I think you can tell a lot about how rigorous and committed someone's belief in a human right is by how quickly they are able to name people who they think could or should have that right taken away.
Like "X is a universal human right. (This doesn't include Y people though)"
Either you think X isn't actually a human right, or you think Y aren't people.
"Yeah, but if they broke the law/are a felon/are a criminal then..."
The bill, while unlikely to pass, highlights the increasing extremism of legislation targeting trans people, especially in Texas, in recent
I am begging yall to remember that the government who gets to dehumanize criminals also gets to decide who the criminals are.

What is this, a crossover episode?
Sequel!
Spending adult money correctly
Iāve discovered my new favorite gimmick account on twitter lmao
Love watching movies with people who are autistic about different things than I am. Last week a friend and I were watching Twisters, and he said, those are going to turn out to be good guys. And I said, how do you know? And he said, because their truck brands are owned by the same equity company as the main character's.
another way in which movies are completely different from reality
Sonic approves
my rage increases with everything i hear about the live action lilo and stitch
what do you mean nani gives up custody of lilo.
what do you mean no jumba redemptionā and heās the twist villain???
what do you mean no pleakley in drag.
what do you mean no nani and david romance subplot.
what do you mean no gantu.
what do you mean no ugly duckling scene.
what do you mean no anti-tourism theme.
what do you mean jumba just sounds like some random american guy.
what do you mean cobra bubbles isnāt the social worker
not to mention naniās actress being in brownface.
and more than anythingā showing an indigeneous family being separated by the government, and having it be shown as a āhappy ending.ā the original ending was perfect. nani kept custody and gained a support system.
disneyās rise in conservatism is showing bigtime
I wish I could avoid seeing it even harder than I already am.
Like, the have Nani's actress in brown-face, make Myrtle and Ice Cream guy Hawaiian, and have Nani put Lilo into the system so she can go to college in California FOR MARINE BIOLOGY.
Disney is doing everything in its power to remove all the racial commentary from the movie and in doing so are pushing a narrative that
Indigenous people have to leave their land for a better life/to chase their dreams
That a "better life" means a college education
That indigenous children belong in the system for "their own good"
And doing all of these things goes against the original movies narrative of "Ohana".
Nani and Lilo lost their ohana when their parents died, but they made a new one with Stitch, Pleakley, Jumba, David, and even Cobra Bubbles.
Lilo & Stitch was also about healing and redemption. Lilo and Stitch both felt broken and wrong and unloved and unlovable, and they loved each other and told each other that they were not broken.
Jumba learned that he could create something kind and not destructive
Pleakley learned to understand things outside of his narrow worldview and to appreciate the true beauty within something.
They found their Ohana in each other. Their little broken family became whole by them joining together.
In the live action version, there is no Jumba redemption, Nani and Lilo don't go and choose Stitch together, and Nani LEAVES Lilo.
This movie spits in the face of the original which was beautiful and loving and actually had something important to say to make schlop for Disney to sell more merch

Itās true that Kauaāi itself is pretty rural and only has a community college. But the state of Hawaii has a very good and well-respected public university system that offers marine biology up to the PhD level. The space aliens could probably figure out how to help Nani commute between Kauaāi and the ManÅa campus on Oahu for classes and still be home for dinner every night.
And, look, Iām a Californian haole whoās visited the islands a few times. I know Iām part of the problem. But itās super weird for the movie to act like having access to alien technology wouldnāt let Nani have it all if she wanted to go to college in her own state and still live at home with Lilo.
(Iām not even addressing the part where a huge aspect of Naniās character is that she willingly gave up her future as a professional surfer to take care of the little sister she loves, even though her sister drives her crazy sometimes. So theyāre literally changing what people love about the character by doing this. Ugh. š )

Literally the definition of imperialism and classism. Doesnāt matter how many peasants you sacrifice as long as the most powerful piece is left standing
Proximity of bishops to the rulers promotes theocratic oppression
the horse is so fuckable
they all have a flared base
Does anyone know how to make the rook move diagonally? Can get bishop to work fine but I think the rook must be bugged, is it just me?

OP youāre my personal fucking hero
I am once again reminding people that it wasn't unusual to have this sort of politics on the radio in the 2010s. It's not ahead of its time, your culture just got fascist since then.
