Saja Boys x Manager!Reader
*Reader is meant to be gender neutral
You never would have imagined that your life would be soâŚeventful. Of course you expected to work hard at your job, but you hadnât expected to feel so fulfilled. The K-Pop industry was a notoriously competitive and temperamental one, but you had known that going in. Meticulously, you worked your way up the ladder; often enduring condescending superiors and difficult clients alike.
Years of effort finally paid off when you were officially assigned to be the manager of an up and coming boy group called the Saja Boys. This was it, your big break, and you were gonna make the most of it. You went into this assignment with a reignited passion you hadnât felt in while. However, nothing could have prepared you for what was to come.
The next few months had passed in an absolute blur of scheduling promotions, interviews, and tv appearances; pretty standard stuff really. However, the unique nature of the Saja Boys definitely created a rather unorthodox situation.
Admittedly, you were a little put off by the fact that there was no record of any of the members prior to them signing with your agency and being assigned to you. None of them had participated in survival shows or any known programs. This considerably limited what you had to work with in terms of planning their path forward as a group.
Fortunately for you, they already worked incredibly well as a unit, and had a level of synchronization most groups only dreamed of. This eliminated the need for you to recreate that component of the trainee process. One less thing for you to worry about.
Unfortunately, this relief was pretty short lived. You nearly had a heart attack when you opened your phone on your lunch break. Sure, you and Jinu had discussed a âflash-mobâ type performance to introduce their debut song âSoda Popâ, but no concrete plans had been made. Yet there they were, on a random day, performing to their heartsâ content and your dismay. You had half a mind to call Jinu and give him a piece of your mind. That is until you saw the traction that both the song and the Saja Boys were getting.
This could be good, you decided, and almost immediately began making arrangements for an official music and multiple dance practice videos. Of course, you still chewed the boys out about acting independently of the agency without permission. But you also reluctantly acknowledged that they had done a good job kickstarting their careers this way. Now, the real work could begin.
The last couple of months were a matter of fundamental and PR work. You had also sadly realized that despite their ability to work a crowd, some of the guys were obviously not properly media trained. Specifically Chin-Hae, whom you had to scold on multiple occasions for barking or growling at interviews.
You also had to remind Young-Jae not to allow himself to look so bored during meet and greets, or Mun-Hee not to snap at staff when they made innocent mistakes. Dae-won was actually pretty well behaved minus his tendency to show up to dance practices already sweating from hours at the gym.
Jinu initially appeared to be the only one who was somewhat normal. That is, until you realized just how outdated he was. You had to sit down and explain social media algorithms to him, as well as the crucial fact that online presence was imperative to their success.
Safe to say youâve experienced a considerable amount of trial and error working with these guys. And despite their quirkiness, youâve found the experience rather rewarding and grown quite fond of the your idols. Little did you know just how mutual your feelings were.
The Saja Boys knew they had a job to do, and you were just a tool to help them succeed; at least at first. They had initially tried to keep you at arms length, thinking they only needed you as a manager in title only. However, they quickly realized they were in way over their heads and had no idea how to navigate the K-pop industry. They had begrudgingly come to accept the fact that they needed you and your skills as a manager.
At first, it was primarily Jinu, who communicated with you due to him being better at interacting with humans. However, they each found themselves spending one on one time with you at some point or another. They also noticed your attentiveness, not just regarding their careers but towards them as people.
You had gone out of your way to ensure Mun-Hee didnât experience unnecessary hair damage during the shooting of a shampoo commercial by having them remove the harmful UV lights.Â
Dae-won noticed how you defended his right to take time off from going to the gym when he was feeling drained. Even if it meant turning down a job offer from a perfume company, who insisted on an impossible workout schedule if he wanted to model for them.
Young-Jae silently watched as you talked to Jinu about making sure his deeper voice and rapping skills were showcased, and he wasnât reduced to simply being âthe cute oneâ.
You always made it a point to ensure Chin-Hae was comfortable. Making sure he could step away whenever the attention became too much.
Lastly, Jinu observed as you paid each of his members such careful attention despite their initial standoffishness and hesitance to cooperate with you.
Without realizing it, they had each grown addicted to your attention and care. More and more, they found themselves instinctively seeking you out and wanting to spend more time with you. Of course, they each went about this in their own unique way. This collective increased need for attention sometimes made it feel more like you were running a daycare than managing an idol group. Unbeknownst to you, the âkidsâ were demons in disguise who were becoming increasingly obsessed with you by the day. Before you knew it, the nature of their advances had become more intimate.
Jinu began reaching out to you more frequently to ask for your input on song lyrics, which more often than not, were noticeably romantic or even explicit in nature. Over time he had become increasingly fond of seeing your cheeks flush, as you attempted to keep your composure while reviewing the suggestive words.
Dae-won had begun to initiate more and more physical contact with you. It was often in such a way that you could feel his chiseled physique pressed against you. He also started showing off significantly more during dance practice.
Mun-Hee became incredibly insistent that you be present at more of his modeling jobs; especially ones where the majority of his body is on display. You also started catching him staring at you with a look that you couldnât quite place, but never failed to leave your heart racing.Â
The remaining two were arguably more subtle with their affections, but just as consistent.
Chin-Hae took a liking to looming in your vicinity. You would feel his shadow towering over you at random times when you were trying to work. He also adopted the habit of staring down anyone who attempted to interrupt his time with you. His gaze was so intense that it usually scared off anybody who came too close.
Young-Jae simply aimed to be in your presence whenever he could. Most days, he would perch himself on the corner of your desk while you worked, or take to sitting next to you whenever the opportunity presented itself. Oftentimes, no words would be exchanged, the sounds of his tablet or Nintendo switch comfortably filling the silence.
All of these little habits had become increasingly apparent to you, and honestly, you found yourself at a loss. At first you had simply tried to ignore it, but it soon became obvious that this wouldnât work. Next, you tried gently redirecting their attention elsewhere. Sometimes even encouraging them to pursue other people;; this of course was also unsuccessful. It wasnât even that you didnât find them attractive; it was actually almost embarrassing how drawn you were to them. They each had a powerful yet unique, almost supernatural allure. But you were their manager and engaging in a romantic relationship with any of them; let alone all of them would be highly unprofessional. However the more they made their affections known, the less you found yourself caring about professionalism.
It all came to a head during an after hours mixer at the main agency building. The drinks were flowing and the atmosphere was jovial. You even had a few drinks yourself but were definitely still very much aware of your surroundings. Despite this you hadnât seemed to notice the five pairs of eyes that were staring daggers at your colleague, who was chatting and obviously flirting with you.
The conversation had been light and playful with the occasional flirty compliment directed towards you. You hadnât really minded, after all it was all in good fun. But unbeknownst to you, someone else in the room felt differently, and was about to make his opinion known.
You now found yourself pinned against the wall inside one of the break rooms. You were face to face with Chin-Hae, who was staring at you with an intensity that could only be described as primal. His grip on your waist was tight and possessive; a low growl rumbling in his throat.
He had grabbed you out of nowhere and dragged you out of the main office area. You had tried to protest or ask questions, but he had simply ignored you.Â
Chin-Hae hadnât meant to snap, truly. However, he reached the end of his rope when he saw your colleague lean in and whisper something unintelligible into your ear. Before he knew it, he was moving. Something about the way this virtual stranger had made you laugh so genuinely triggered something deep inside him.
As he made his way down the hallway, all he could think about was getting you alone; away from them. Eventually, he had pulled you into one of the break rooms where you now found yourself in this strangely intimate predicament.
The two of you sat in silence for a moment before he swiftly leaned in close; so close you could feel his breath brush against your lips. You considered pushing him away but ultimately didnât. Deep down, you wanted this; even if you werenât quite ready to admit it yet. Chin-Hae took this acceptance of his proximity as a silent sign of approval, and eagerly closed the distance.Â
The kiss was rough and somewhat clumsy, but in an a way you found endearing way. However, there was an undeniable possessiveness to it. You could feel it in the way his grip tightened around your waist, pulling your body even closer. His teeth began to nibble on your bottom lip; another growl escaping him. By the time he pulled away you were left breathless, heart beating wildly. However, it immediately stopped when you heard him utter one word: ours. Suddenly, the sound of footsteps drew your attention towards the door, where all the other members now stood watching.Â
Embarrassment filled you as you realized they had seen everything. Just the thought alone was enough to make you want to disappear on the spot. Although, something in their stares was enough to wash away that shame. Instead, a pleasurable shiver made its way up your spine. On the other hand, what really caught your attention was their eyes; they were glowing. Four pairs of glowing, bright yellow eyes burrowed into your figure. It was impossible to dismiss the way they looked at you; the undeniable emotion that filled their eyes. It was the same possessiveness you had seen with Chin-Hae mere moments ago.
The four men slowly moved towards you. They approached like a pack of wolves would approach their prey. You could practically feel your heart racing as Jinu came to the forefront. Your eyes met and you found yourself frozen in place. So much so that, you barely noticed when Chin-Haeâs arm slipped from your waist. He now stood with the rest of his group mates, a flicker of bright amber visible through the tresses of his hair.
Jinu stepped out, away from the others and strode towards you; his expression serious but not angry. The two of you now stood, chests practically touching as he looked down at you. You probably should have been scared or at the very least unnerved, but you werenât. You found yourself completely enraptured by those luminous eyes. The room was completely silent save for the sudden sound of your breath hitching. The male in front of you had taken your chin between his fingers, bringing his face closer to yours in the process. He looked you over, taking in your entranced expression; a smirk creeping onto his face as he took in your wide eyes and flushed face. He hadnât exactly approved of Chin-Haeâs sudden and abrasive actions, but now felt it had been worth it to see you like this.
âHeâs right, you know.â Jinuâs voice came out low and smooth, as his gaze continued to roam your features. You blinked a few times, your brain trying to put together what he was talking about. A soft âwhat?â escaped your lips, which earned a few quiet chuckles from the other men in the room. Jinu also let out an amused huff at your reaction.
âYouâre ours.â The words were matter of fact, said with a confidence that few would dare question. They made your heart hammer harder in your chest. Not only because of the meaning behind them or how they were said, but because you knew they were true. Youâre not sure when this had become the case, but honestly, did it really matter? You glanced past Jinu to look at the other boys, almost as if searching for reassurance that this was the true consensus among them.
Mun-Hee had a look that was a mix of condescending affection and smugness. He was looking at you how one would look when fawning over a puppy. Dae-wonâs expression was one of barely restrained predatory desire. He looked ready to pounce and devour you whole.
Young-Jaeâs eyes were lidded with a small smile etched onto his face. The smile is just wide enough for you to get a glimpse of his now more pronounced canines. Chin-Haeâs face appeared rather neutral at first glance, but you knew better. Through the tresses of his hair you could see his eyes, which held unwavering adoration.
Jinu noticed the change in direction of your gaze, and followed it. He quickly realized that you were looking for some sort of confirmation of their feelings for you.
âDonât worry, pretty girl. All of us are on the same page with this.â He refused to let you doubt their shared affections for you. Once again he grabbed your chin, and directed your attention back to him. He had seen a brief hesitance in your eyes, but was relieved to find that flicker of insecurity had now vanished.
You wanted this. You wanted to be theirs; almost desperately so. Both your body and soul craved them, and now you could clearly see this desire was clearly reciprocated. Months of yearning and unspoken words had inevitably led to this moment. You looked at each of them again, and you knew, you were ready to give in. Unable to find the right words, you simply followed your instincts.
You gently wrapped your arms around the man before you. Your body lovingly pressed against his, your ear resting on his chest. Your eyes fluttered closed in satisfaction as you heard his heartbeat quicken ever so slightly. After a moment, you felt Jinu relax and return your embrace. A sigh of relief escaped past his lips, as the other quietly approached the two of you. They didnât physically join the embrace but they encircled you, and you found comfort in their collective presence.
You could still feel their sharp, possessive stares but now you reveled in it. This was where you belonged now. Surrounded by these men who adored you, and now claimed for their own.
*Note: Iâm so sorry I didnât give the others enough attention. Unfortunately, thatâs just how it turned out. I like to view it as good practice for future poly/harem-style oneshots. Feel free to leave comments or requests for what you would like to see next.
