orange juice is the superior beverage bc it makes ur tongue feel like u ate a bunch of ants which reminds me of my childhood when I would put ants in my mouth and eat em except this time it tastes good too
Hey op I think you’re probably allergic to citrus?
is. this not what oj is supposed to make ur tongue feel like
Did you know that if your mouth itches when you eat kiwis, it is not from hairs left over on the fruit after you peel it? I didn’t until I was about 26 or so!
Confusingly, pineapple is supposed to feel like that, the damn thing is attempting to digest you right back.
Numb lips are not part of the intended experience of peanut butter, apparently
yALL
Are we just gonna ignore the part where op says they ate ants?

I feel obligated to reblog this every time it shows up in my dash
No bragging, just 100% floored and grateful. Work hard, maintain a positive attitude, and believe that anything can happen.
So I reblogged this exactly a week ago because I thought it was funny and uh lo and behold, a family friend wrote me a big ol’ check just to help me out of a tough financial spot AND my bank refunded me $32 for fees they’d originally taken out. SO UH YEAH. Reblogging this again in hopes that it brings equally good fortune to my followers.
Sure why not? Jobs bring in money and prosperity…

Marshae Jones was five months pregnant when she was shot in the stomach. The police say she initiated a fight that led to the shooting.
WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FUCK.
Marshae Jones was shot in 2018 during an argument. She was 5-months pregnant at the time and the trauma ended the pregnancy. While charges were dropped against the shooter, the survivor, Marshae Jones is now being charged with manslaughter for starting the argument. Black and indigenous women are almost always the first targets of policies that attempt to steal autonomy over their own bodies from women. Marshae is clearly the victim in this situation, yet she now faces a hefty prison sentence for being shot. She is being held on a $50,000 bail. This is absolutely disgusting, and we must end both the system of cash bail and the prison industrial complex that seeks to criminalize black, brown, and working class white people at every opportunity. #SayHerName
SIGNAL BOOST: Shoutout to the NYT for being the first major publication I’ve seen refer to Marshae Jones’s lost pregnancy as her fetus. Women are more than just incubators!
SIGNAL BOOST: Don’t just be alarmed. We can help Marshae Jones make bail by giving to the Yellow Hammer Fund, a reproductive justice organization in Alabama. “Losing a pregnancy should never be criminalized. Donate at paypal.me/yellowfund or yellowhammerfund.org with the note MARSHAE. #reprojustice #reproductivejustice”

Congrats on finishing college! I just started! Any tips?? -Slytherin-sarcasm
1. Dont take an 8 am class. Just dont
2. If you get a bad vibe from a professor within the first week. Get into a different class
3. If you have a meal plan, use it. Dont be afraid to take big bottles and fill them up at the cafeteria either. I promise you no one will care. Wrap stuff up and take it to go. Trust me on this one
4. Before ordering textbooks, check for free online pdfs. If you cant find a pdf, check the university library. Some libraries carry the textbooks and you can check it out whenever you need it. Otherwise chegg is the best place to rent textbooks.
5. Make a calendar/planner/schedule
6. Get involved, most of your better friends will not be classmates, they will be people you meet in clubs or outside activities. Join a dance team or the archery team. Most schools even have a quidditch team.
7. SLEEP
8. Bring water bottles to class. Even just sipping on this absently will make you feel so much better. Dehydration takes down so many people without then even realizing it. Dont let it get you.
9. Ask for help. Email your professors. Go to office hours. I one time had a deep conversation with my lighting professor on Facebook messenger at 2 am about mental health and how I felt it was holding me back. Professor are here to help. Find one and talk to them
I’m always here to help as well. Dont be afriad to reach out. You are not, nor will you ever be alone. 💚💚💚
To piggyback on #4, my boyfriend has gotten though 3.5 years of premed and bought almost no textbooks. If you really know where to look, and you look hard enough(especially if you are tech savvy), you can get like 98% of textbooks as pdfs. (I never had a huge issue with textbooks as a theater major lol)
Lucky you. My theatre history II course required 5 textbooks. And we used every single one of them.
Agreeing with #4 for textbooks– UTILIZE YOUR LIBRARY!!!! I’ve worked at a university library for 4 years now and most students don’t realize that professors put the textbooks on Reserve. All you need is a student ID. If they don’t have it, see if you can borrow it through Link+ or Interlibrary Loan (ILL). If your school has a copy machine or scanner, you can scan pages (it’s against copyright laws but as long as you’re not distributing the material it’s technically okay). If you do have to buy books, try to get them asap. Some schools post the required textbooks before the semester/quarter begins so make use of that. If you get it during the first few weeks of school then the different websites jack up the prices. And only buy the ones you think will be necessary to buy. Example, I bought all of my books for French because I knew that I’ll read them again and I wrote in all of the margins and stuff. I didn’t buy any of my Biology books or any of the books related to the classes I needed for that major.
Pretty much just use your library in general. We’ll help you with research and pretty much any school related question (especially if it’s a student assistant helping you).
If you don’t have a meal plan, bring some sort of snacks with you to have between breaks. Try to bring packed lunches with you. If you can’t afford regular groceries, Dollar Tree and the 99¢ store are just as good options for pantry staples. Some schools even have a on campus food pantry. Don’t feel ashamed to utilize that, everyone needs to eat.
What I never did but I think you should do (if needed), go to your campus Counseling/Psych Services. I was always busy during their drop in hours and our campus was not very accessible if you were not on the border of being 51/50d. They did have good online resources that I used though.
Get involved, even if it starts out as baby steps. Go to a school event like a sporting match or a Welcome Week craft night. Yes, it is awkward as fuck to be going by yourself but you’ll meet other people by doing so. Plus, everyone needs to learn how to do things on their own for a while.
If you want to chat, I am here. :)
I got the absolute loveliest answer to an ask I sent in to @incorrect-slytherin and I thought you all should see it
I AM ABSOLUTELY LOSING MY MIND AFTER READING THIS PLEASE READ IT
I don’t know what’s funnier.. the baby elephant chasing the birds, or when he fell and ran to his mom xD
“I told you to stop chasing them damn birds”
animals; they’re just like us
Summer means poor children are not getting 2 free meals a day at school so if you’re able, please consider donating to your local food bank.
Until September 2nd, if you’re under 18, you can receive free lunch at public library branches in NYC (proof of age shouldn’t be required), and from trucks at certain locations around the city. Some schools should be open and providing them, too!!
This is so helpful for anyone that needs it!
here is a website where you can find similar programs based on your location.
