They're the reason why i haven't moved on from ToG, tbh. I love them so much
forever chasing this high…
Did i finished ToG or did it finished me? tt's definetely the latter. finished reading it a little more than a month ago and i haven't been able to read any other book. haven't moved on from it, and, honestly, i don't think i want to. this is the best saga i've read so far in my life.
Me reading the 4 first books of ToG in a week
Abraxos constantly smelling flowers is so damn cute 🥺😭
lo amo demasiado... es mi personaje favorito de toda la saga
Doomed siblings have me on a chokehold in a way no trope can ever achieve. Something so gut wrenchingly beautiful about two kids going through unimaginable trauma and coming out damaged forever. I always eat it up. Maybe they stay together and find solace only in each other, used and kicked out by society! Maybe they end up on opposite sides of the war! Maybe they end up betraying one another! Maybe one of them dies haunting the narrative forever! Maybe one of them destroys the world for the other! So many endless tragic possibilities!
This is, so far, my favorite trope
Nesta has sacrificed absolutely everything for Cassian. She changed her anatomy for Cassian. And he can't even support her, defend her, or protect her.
Nessian's so one-sided with only Nesta putting in any work. Cassian's only contribution to their marriage is his cock.
He's so useless as a mate and only "acts" like one (actually, he just trowns baby tantrums) whenever other males talk or aproach Nesta and treat her with the respect and decency she deserves and that he has never really given to her.
cassian is good male but not a good mate, i will die on that hill
PERIOD. He's definitely not a good partner for my baby Nesta
Me when tragic siblings:
Me when: Thor, Loki & Hela, the Clawthorne Sisters, the Kryze Sisters, the Maximoff Siblings, Visenya & Aegon Targaryen (the conquerors), and now, my current obsession: Zuko & Azula.
Adding the Black Sisters to this list of tragic siblings relationships cause they're my current hyperfixation.
Does the list will ever end? I certainly doubt it.
Now I'm adding the Archeron Sisters to the list, specially Nesta. My girl is so misunderstood.
No I'm not crying I'm just thinking about Hela having to live thousands of years in exile, trapped in a cold, dead world, alone, lost and most likely hungry-
My poor baby went through sm :(
Compare Hela to Azula. For as cruel and sadistic as Azula was the show made clear by the end that she was actually a tragic character. It was the fire nations philosophies and the fire lord that were wrong. Hela on the other hand is just a monster. Odin changed that's that.
Actually neither Hela nor Azula are monsters. In fact there are a lot parallels between them. Both of them grew up in an imperialist culture and propaganda where they're taught their own nation is above everyone else's. Both are used by their fathers as a weapon and considered what they did for their father and nation an honor. Both aimed to please their father.
The difference is not that one is a monster. The difference is how their fathers treated them.
You think Odin changed? He didn't. He simply stopped at nine realms as we've seen through the movies that Asgard still holds power over the nine realms with the claim that "they're protectors". And when Odin stopped, Hela's usefulness ran out and she became a hindrance for his new lifestyle specially since she had ambitions of her own. Ambitions that were the result of what Odin taught her and how he treated her. So Odin cast her out and locked her up for at least a thousand years. Hela was imprisoned for many years, alone and forgotten knowing she was replaced by another child. And that takes its toll on her. So when she was finally freed, she wasn't really stable as all she could think of was revenge and war.
And you see the same thing in Azula too. Just like Hela, she is the product of her upbringing. She does everything her father asks of her, living in fear that she might be treated like Zuko. And you saw how she reacted when she felt she is being ignored and disregarded like Zuko, how angry she was. Feeling alone, betrayed and not loved, took its toll on her too and she fell apart.
Another parallel between Hela and Azula is that they're both hurt by being considered monsters. When Azula said "even my mother thought me a monster but I don't care" and you know that's a lie and she cares very much, and when Hela says with disdian "I'm not a monster, I'm the goddess of death".
I consider them both tragic in a sense that they too was hurt by what their fathers did to them, how war changed and affected them and how they both weren't loved. And how they weren't able to change their mindset and ways from what's been taught to them. Perhaps it's harder to see Hela as a tragic character because we only saw her rage and how she hurt others, but for Azula we saw her pain and how she broke down and fell apart. And I wish we could get to see both of them heal and have a redemption arc.
@therese-lokidottir Exactly! TR avoids emotions like the plague and there's no depth to anything. While atla know its characters and is a masterpiece in storytelling.
Thunderbolts and Fantastic 4 made me forget all the shitty desicions Marvel has made
I needed this drag. Let’s change guys and not look back
working out your brain is a must!!
• hydrate it by drinking lots of water
• eat dark chocolate and blueberries and walnuts and salmon and other foods high in antioxidants!!
• play little brain games on your phone; I like wordconenct! anything that makes you think!
• read books. It’s simple but necessary. Even better - join a book club, or read with a friend, so you can have discussions after. This will improve your reading comprehension.
• do puzzles - it doesnt have to be sudoku, I love playing Beat Saber on the Oculus Rift because it makes my brain have to match colorful patterns to physical movements very quickly!
• learn a new dance - even a tik tok trendy dance. Learning new dance moves are proven to strengthen synapses!!
• go bird watching, or foraging, or anything outdoors that requires you to explore pattern recognition and visual searching
• watch a movie with the intent of analysis - this is best done with a cinephile friend!! talk about tropes and symbolism and character growth
• cross stitch, or sew, or do anything that requires matching nimble hand movements to patterns
• play or learn an instrument!
• develop a consistent sleep schedule (or as close to consistent as you can get!)
• when eating, try to identify the ingredients and flavors you’re perceiving!
I hope this helps :)
I like how this went from me feeling like “hm why is this attacking me 🤨” at first, but feeling grateful seeing an added guide on a genuine expansion on a “ how to” work out the brain. This genuinely helps a bunch. People find solace in doing activities that get them through life by doing said activities of phone/tv or if that’s all they’ve ever known in their life to get them through things + etc tho. However, this was very impt to point out. Slowly beginning incorporating things to work the brain in ones own time.

i'm actually really interested in the postwar relationship between Harry Potter and narcissa malfoy. because she saved his life, and also they now have a common relative (teddy) and neither of them thought too much about the other besides antagonizing them before.... how is he gonna feel about her saving him? how is she gonna feel?
The Black Sisters
THEEEM
I don't want a shity Harry Potter remake series, I want (NEED) a spin-off about the noble and most ancient house of Black, similarly to House of the Dragon, but specifically about the three of them: the Black sisters.
I need to know more about each one of them, about their relationship between each other, about their time at Hogwarts, about Andromeda's "rebellion" and how Bellatrix and Narcissa reacted to it, about Bellatrix becoming a Death Eater and Narcisas's reaction to it, about their stranded relationship during both wizarding wars, and both Bellatrix and Narcissa being together in the same side of the war while Andromeda's with the opposition; about Andromeda's reaction to the fact that her own sister, her own blood, had killed her daughter and the aftermaths that this left; and, finally, I NEED, to know if she and Narcissa ever reached out to each other again after the war.
Me when tragic siblings:
Me when: Thor, Loki & Hela, the Clawthorne Sisters, the Kryze Sisters, the Maximoff Siblings, Visenya & Aegon Targaryen (the conquerors), and now, my current obsession: Zuko & Azula.
