we have dandelions EVERYWHERE, they are basically our State Weed, it is absolutely impossible that my mom has never interacted with a dandelion before, this requires further investigation

So after extensive interrogation I have an update:

my mom is in fact aware that dandelions exist. she temporarily forgot the name and there was some miscommunication.

the truth is actually weirder

she’s aware dandelions look like this

she is familiar with this flower. she knows the name of this flower. she declines to believe, however, that these are also dandelions

she does not believe these are the same plant. I tried to explain, and she thought I was either misinformed or lying. so I asked her what exactly did she think the yellow ones were called?

she answered, with complete confidence: Daffodils.

“buttercups” is a name applied to MANY flowers. in my part of the south it was this one:

imo there’s correct identifications of dandelions, daffodils, easter lilies and marigolds in this thread, but buttercups are simply impossible to agree on and the only solution is for everyone to post pictures of their local buttercups

The beautiful thing as you get older is that you realize so many “rules” are made up and you can just do whatever. Posters can go anywhere in the house not just my room. I can sit down while cooking a meal or taking a shower. I can make the same thing for breakfast lunch dinner for a week straight. I can roam around the house shirtless. I can wear a dress with jeans. But the moment he saw Thimble again - boom

He breaks down despite not being able to cry anymore, he doesnt have the psychosomatic symptoms of sadness - no heartbeat, no brain chemicals, its all just his magic

His relief and his gratitude for seeing Thimble again superceded the Hollow part of him so he could breakdown like anyone else

He loved Thimble so much that he could believe, for a single moment, that he was alive enough to cry

Also, if I see ANY of you blaming or hating on Matt for not going after Teor and Cyd, it’s an immediate block from me because:

In all likelihood, Julien would NOT have gotten there in time, and he can’t heal

Julien had no reason to choose Teor; he’s already walked away from him being in mortal danger once, and the fact that he even seriously considered running down there to help him shows huge character growth

His mother told him not to go die in a dark hole, and he was holding the artifact that can save his sister’s life, so it makes zero sense for him to risk all that to maybe help a guy he barely knows

He also immediately told Occtis and Thimble when he got to them, so that they could try to figure it out as a group rather than Julien charging off alone someplace where Occtis and Thimble would have no clue where to look for him

The decision 1000% makes sense to the story and character, and I feel very confident that Travis doesn’t hold any sort of resentment toward Matt for it, so why do you think you should?

Teor’s death was a looong series of choices and dice rolls, and that’s just dnd, man.

teor and cyd dying paw in paw.

bolire (choosing to go to his sister instead of help wick or tyranny) narrowly missing a disintegrate from termina, an utter betrayal and still saying that he loves her as he runs away. later when he tortures the man he possesses with the vision of his brother being murdered, directs a play using exact words from teor and cyd and struggling to make something that is solely his.

zebani saying she will kill wick for what’s he’s done to her.

jullien clutching the gem with his sister’s soul and choosing not to die in the dark and assumedly dooming teor with this choice.

occtis having hope that maybe his brother hasn’t wholly betrayed him, hoping that maybe julien wouldn’t kill him.

hal, his life’s work turned into a ritual by his brother to free their people.

vaelus tasked with chosing freeing her siblings from the underworld or the entire rungjani peoples gathered there at the hallowed round and just not knowing what to choose.

I hope everyone’s been enjoying Deadzone! Running this server has been so wonderful and I’ve adored it- however I am just one guy and have started needing some help.

Due to this- we’re opening applications for an admin staff!

Admins are volunteer staff that help out by playing non-verbal npcs, running npc owned shops to assist players, help with map builds and changes, and a few other tasks behind the curtain!

Admins must be 18+ years of age and must have a reliable way to run modded java minecraft. Applications will close June 30th!
