"I've got a bone to pick with you" is either a great way to start a fight, or make friends with an archaeologist.
Since finishing FFXV, this scene is the one that still gets to me. No better way to remember it then to make a joke about it.Â
Thought Iâd make this to show my thoughts on what it must be like at Sega. Whether you love it or hate it, Boom is definitely around to stay.Â
Time for my own personal Sonic 2017 game theory! For those who havenât seen the trailer, I recommend watching it before reading as it is quite amazing. In fact, I will put the trailer here just for you.Â
So lets look at what we know. We were told that it is not a sequel game, and is its own standalone title. We were also told in the past that Generations was a one time thing which we took as no more classic Sonic, where in fact it meant no direct sequel. In the distance, there are 3 giant robots that are destroying the city, yet when Sonic and Classic Sonic are shown boosting (which is a new skill for Classic Sonic) only 2 robots attack. With this, and the gap next to Modern Sonic, it is in high speculation that Boom Sonic will make an appearance within the game, splitting it up into 3 different play-styles. These are 2D Side-scroll, 3D boost, and battle/adventure, highlighting the gameplay from the 3 different game styles.Â
Now as for why Boom Sonic may appear in this world is actually a direct link to Generations. In the game, we saw Modern Sonic and Classic Sonic team up and travel through worlds that they have been through... except that is only half correct. Classic Sonic hadnât seen anything from the Adventure series onwards, meaning everything was new. Once knowing the future, and what may happen, Classic Sonic may have taken his new homing attack ability and his knowledge of the future to save the day before it is actually needed. This pushes Sonic to be more relaxed, and with Eggman, seeing that he will never beat Sonic, took a more relaxed approach, though stayed evil. This becomes the Boom Universe, meaning that the Modern and Boom Sonicâs are both âwhat-ifsâ, on whether or not the events of Generations actually take place.Â
As I said before, this is purely speculation and may not be what happens in the game, and just a theory on how Boom came to be. I am, however, not putting all my eggs in one basket on this theory, and will put 1 egg in my joke-ish theory. Similar to what was said in a recent Batman comic, the three Sonics arenât actually related, rather they are 3 completely different hedgehogs who exist in the same timeline, and use the same name! All of this happening after what happened with Time Eater in Generations.Â
That is my theory anyway, and I will hopefully add to it as time goes on. Definitely cannot wait for the release which will most likely be October 2017.Â
Disney Crossy Roads Episode 4
Lastly on my list of things to showcase is Episode 4 of the Disney Crossy Roads animation. Same as the other posts, this is what I have worked on while working at Liquid Animation.Â
I was very excited to work on this one, as the moment the modelling list popped up I remember calling dips to work on both Simba and Scar as the Lion King was my favourite movie as a child. Apart from Simba and Scar, I also had to help with some rig fixes on the 3 Hyenas, though they were modelled and had the base rig made up by a fellow coworker. As usual, my job was modelling and rigging on this one.Â
Disney Crossy Roads Episode 3
Continuing on once again from my last post, here is another showcase of things I have worked on while employed at Liquid Animation.Â
Here we have the third episode of the Disney Crossy Roads series, with my work being the modelling and rigging of Timon, Pumbaa, and the Elephant. Timon was trickier as after finishing his modelling, we had to change him into his Luau costume.Â
Disney Crossy Roads Episode 2
Continuing on from my last post, I thought I should showcase my work that I have done while working at Liquid Animation.Â
Up now is the second episode of the Disney Crossy Roads animations, with my work in this episode being the modelling and rigging of Goofy, Pluto, the pizza, and the Crocodile!
Disney Crossy Roads Episode 1
So I thought I should showcase some work that I have done while working at Liquid Animation, and seeing that it has in fact been released, only I was looking in the wrong spot, I should show off what I have worked on!
First up is the first episode of the Crossy Roads Animation. I had little input with this episode, and only worked on the Daisy model. Despite this, I did have quite a bit of fun learning how to model and rig these style characters.Â
POKEMON STARTER THEORY!
I have been looking over the designs of the pokemon Gen 7 starters, and have come up with a theory on what their final evolution types may be. Keep in mind it is just a theory, but at the moment anything can happen, so lets begin.Â
First, there is Rowlet, the Grass/Flying type. Looking at itâs design, we can see it has a grass bow-tie on, similar to everyoneâs favourite childhood scientist, BILL NYE! It doesnât stop there, his face is set up as a Venn Diagram. Since the design seems to be making Rowlet look smarter, I theorize that it will drop the flying type, and gain the Psychic type. Lets move on.
Next up is Litten, the fire cat. This secondary typing should be easy to guess based on itâs colour choice, as most darker pokemon come out as dark type. Having a fire/dark pokemon will make it interesting, as if correct, it will have a dual type advantage over Rowlet.Â
Lastly we have Popplio, the water type. I donât see much in the design, other than it is a clown. However, seeing as we have a psychic type, and a dark type, I will go out and assume that the final evolution will be a water/fighting type, which makes sense given its acrobatic nature. This will be giving it dual advantage over Litten, and dual weakness over Rowlet. This also means that the water starter will finally steal the fighting type off of the fire starter.Â
This is all a theory at the moment, but let me know what everyone thinks. Hopefully we find out more information soon.
@d-sutcliffe That Rowlet observation is fantastic and had me thinking about the hidden themes of all three. Iâve tried to slightly expand on what youâve written⊠particularly in respect to Litten.
1) Rowlet : The Wise Scientist Owl
You can see that it is wearing a leafy bow-tie and âgogglesâ, that its face hides a Venn Diagram shape, and that the wings and feathers have repeated wave-form feathers. Furthermore, the Pokemon.com page talks a lot about Rowlet being immensely observant/curious, with the ability to see all around it. Thatâs a scientist, yo.Â
Iâd love to see a Grass-Psychic type, given this prediction⊠because Psychic would be really neat for a physicist âMon.Grass-Flying would be totally fine and obvious, too.
2) Litten : The Dormant Volcano Tiger
The stripes are pretty obviously tiger stripes and the fact they are deep red makes me instantly think of flowing streams of lava. Litten is also described to be âlogical but also passionateâ and it âalways remains coolheaded and doesnât often show its emotions on the surfaceâ. If that doesnât scream âdormant volcanoâ, I donât know what does.
Additionally, when it raises its hackles (seen on the website), its three peaked âspikesâ resemble a range of volcanoes. The fact that this region is inspired by Hawaii makes this all even more plausible.
Given the colour scheme and the dormant-ness of some volcanoes, Fire-Dark makes a ton of sense to me. However, a typing of Fire-Rock would be appropriate and well-received.Â
3) Popplio : The Training Sea-Lion Puppy
As you can see, this is a playful, affectionate seal pup with floppy ears, whiskers, and a collar that loves to play with toy balls. The fact that this is a puppy-sea-lion is pretty apparent. The words âpuppyâ and âleoâ are basically hidden in the name!
Beyond that, the âtrainingâ theme would end up making a lot of sense. Popplio is a definitely an energetic performer, which requires confidence and circus-like gymnastics⊠and a puppy, which often require training to keep boundless excitement in check.
Given the themes of its determined spirit and its training habits, I definitely think this guy will be a Water-Fighting type. Whatâs more, it completes two different type triangles, with Psychic-Dark-Fighting and Flying-Rock-Fighting.
Thoughts? Iâm so excited. :)
@thegabegrumps That is actually a rather great observation with Litten, especially with the small âmountainsâ that it gets on its back. Seeing as though both Rowlet and Litten have 2 possible secondary types, it brings on the question now on which way the developers would have gone for typing.Â
If the developers wanted to keep the game fair for the player, and to give them a chance against their rival, both in the game and out of the game, then we will see the Flying - Rock - Fighting type that you had pointed out, however if they want to make your choice more important, and crucial for your team later on, we will see the Psychic-Dark-Fighting types.Â
I cannot wait to find out what type choice they have gone with for their final evolutions, though it will be funny to see if both of our assumptions came out incorrect.Â
POKEMON STARTER THEORY!
I have been looking over the designs of the pokemon Gen 7 starters, and have come up with a theory on what their final evolution types may be. Keep in mind it is just a theory, but at the moment anything can happen, so lets begin.Â

Just thought I should show off my reason why Rowlet is the best gen 7 starter. Itâs face...
Is a freaking Venn Diagram!
I have been waiting for this for a while, but this one came out quicker than I thought it would, but still makes today a special day. Why is it a special day? Well because something I have worked on has been released! While some may think it isn't much, I was able to work on the trailer for the Disney Crossy Road game, or more specifically, the Eagle and Picnic set. While we were given the figurines from the games, the models had to be remade and rigged so that the animators could use them. The picnic set, however, was based on concept art, which was fun to make as it allowed a bit of creative freedom when it came to the sandwich.
Sonic Theory
So I have been thinking about how Sonic Boom fits into the series, since the tv series has been popular, and I have come across a little theory that I will accept as Headcanon, with it only changing if Sega creates a new reason to connect them, or if they accept my theory in which case it will become Canon.Â
While Sega may have stated that Boom is its own universe, I have a theory that while it may be true, both Boom Sonic and Modern Sonic are actually from the same timeline, though through a split timeline, similar to what the Zelda series has, both series were able to exist.Â
Lets look back at the last time we saw Classic Sonic. Oh, and for those who havenât finished Generations, spoiler alert!
So for those of us who have played it, or at least know of it, the story is simple. A creature known as Time Eater is splitting apart the timeline and messing everything up, which leads Sonic and Classic Sonic to meeting up, and helping each other out. This also includes Tails and Classic Tails joining in, but just help out explaining what is going on.Â
By the end of the game, both Sonics had run through levels that showed off the history of the Sonic Universe. For Modern Sonic, this was a trip through memory lane, however for classic Sonic, this was a vision of what was to come. After everything had been restored, we are treated to the farewell of Classic Sonic.
In the cutscene, we are shown that Classic Sonic is already starting to perfect the homing attack, much earlier than the Modern Sonic did. Since Classic Sonic saw Areas of the future, with most involving something bad after him and around a lot of technology, it is safe to assume that he, at this moment in time being a carefree hedgehog whose only friend is Tails, would want to avoid most of the things that had happened. Looking at the eraâs the final Classic era stage was Sky Sanctuary, while the first Adventure era stage was Speed Highway, where from then on, involved Sonic being chased by police, giant trucks, or being in in other worlds.Â
Not wanting to become chased down by police, or anything too life threatening, once Classic Sonic returned to his own timeline, he instead sought out a more carefree life in which he wouldn't have to worry about impending doom, or being hunted down, and instead would rather sit back and relax with his friends.Â
With this, everything that happened after the classic era was instead put into the Modern Sonics universe, with the classic Sonic we met would be growing up into Boom Sonic, the one who is living the carefree life with his friends. Eggman, after seeing how he would become when he is older and a little more insane, also changed his ways, where even though he would still vow to take down Sonic, has instead gone to a slightly more relaxed situation in which he may still be evil, but wouldnât focus about it too much, hence why he is the way he is in Sonic Boom.Â
While just a theory, this best explains on how the Boom universe came to be, and how it still fits into the Moden universe that we all know and love.Â
Soo... this happened.Â
I guess the truck wasnât a lie after all.Â
Holy Smokes! A shiny!Â
...I think?
Was there ever anyone else to choose?
