i loved this bit so much it felt like a genuine conversation once dan shared his opinion. like phil looked honestly a little surprised to hear that and reiterated what dan said as a question and dan not only answered but gave a clarification. and of course as soon as phil got that he really would like that he asked when they were going despite having “outgrown” them because he’d be with dan.

what makes me happy about the hard launch is the way that they are somehow even more in love than the theories anticipated. back in the day I'd see people speculating on how they probably have separate bedrooms, they go to bed at different times, they are more like qprs with other lovers, they are more like casual roommates at this point like most people (stereotypically) are 10+ years into marriage.....and then they hard launched, and not only was none of that true, it turns out that they're actually absolute freaks for each other (and have been since day 1), have like 4 friends together, and apparently have a robust fucking sex life most straights can only dream of. incredible.

sorry I’m actually still on the port wine. dan and his father in law had such a lovely conversation over cheese, crackers, and wine however long ago that now dan is gifted port wine for his birthday every year. dan and phil have been together long enough that he has annual traditions with his father in law celebrating and commemorating the time they’ve spent together. the catch is dan doesn’t eat cheese and crackers these days because phil doesn’t like cheese so they don’t keep it in the house. he has nothing to pair the wine with because he loves his partner too much. do you see what I’m saying. so now a bottle of port wine sits half drank in their house for most of the year all because his father in law loves him so much and he loves his partner so much. he’s got a silly little problem because he’s stuck between loving and being loved. im going to go lie face first on the concrete and just Wail.
