this whole site and literally all of social media is a god damn waste of time. if you know me then you know where to find me.
to confirm on here: yes i did in fact make a new account. no one is impersonating me. this one is now abandoned & an archive. any post on here may or may not be deleted.
at this point i think if someone told me i was beautiful i’d just start crying because i am that desperate for someone to pay attention to me and be nice to me and care about me
only so much one person can actually take of metaphorically and sometimes literally having the door shut in their face while they’re still talking and tonight i cut myself again because yeah i think i finally got the message

so in the game you can get other palicoes/palamutes to “hire” that are predesigned (you can only rename)… the listings available change every day and on the first day there was this buddy named joel which was clearly meant to be
anyway he’s been at the training dojo thing while i’ve been questing to get him up in level so now i’m getting my special boy some equipment of his own and i’m gonna rerun previous quests to train him up in level more
there’s no point to this post except to say I Love Grinding & look at my new virtual dog
yeah the thing that gets me about 1600 page long physics textbook is that it’s apparently *undergrad*… the only psych textbooks ive seen reaching 1k pages or more are used in graduate school. i wonder if the textbook is sometimes broken over two semesters/classes like in a part I and II style.
Yeah, it being undergrad just makes it even more absurd. I don't see how you could cover any significant part of it in a single semester. Even if it's split between two semesters, that's still equivalent to two 800-page books, which is still really long
… i thought standard size WAS 600-800 pages?!
most of mine are at least 600 pages that i have & they’d be more grad school level but honestly i think THIS one you could use in undergrad (some reviews imply it IS used in undergrad, i think it’d depend on your average student, program, and school. i could not see my professor having used this for intro to abnormal psych but maybe a more advanced class after?):
i have an entire one on dissociative disorders & it’s
i still have read only like 1/4th of it because honestly reading this much about this specific topic feels more like a chore to me (there are reviews complaining it’s not for amateurs which i would think the 800 page length would be a tip off… there’s multiple top professionals in here though who do write little intro guides.)
to be fair also like every undergrad class i’ve ever been in would skip entire sections. it might have a lot of illustrations too? neither of the above have like… any, which i never thought about because all my undergrad books had a ton of these. half the page could be images.
* such as the top one is all… this… this is the entire book (i love how it appears they were trying to cram all the words into the format. this is a pirated copy so maybe the images are removed but i’ve read a lot of this and it never references looking at an image??):
still an extremely long undergrad textbook at 1600 pages even with illustration
Yeah, you're probably right actually. It's been a while since I was in university, but now that I think about it, yeah, a lot of the textbooks were rather long
yeah i checked my old undergrad ones and most are also at least 600 😵💫 there’s a couple i have for my philosophy minor that are significantly shorter but i think some of these classes had other books (i didn’t keep every textbook because that would be very impractical so now i can’t remember every book in the courses). it’s really strange how i never paid attention to the length while in school but noticed years later after looking for and pirating updated undergrad & grad school textbooks… i WOULD read them but i guess it was different when you were going along in a structured setting vs. your free time.
(Okay my brain isn't working so I couldn't take in all of the info here BUT)
to be fair also like every undergrad class i’ve ever been in would skip entire sections.
One of my books from college (which I happen to actually have right beside me) is a custom version made for that school where it was originally a significantly larger book, but they got it boiled down to just the content that fits with the school's curriculum in order to make it a less expensive text book
My books that didn't do that often ended up in the 600-page or 700-page ranges
HUH??? wow that’s the first time i’ve heard of that… i’ve had professors who got upset if they found out you just had a previous edition of a textbook to save money (most were pretty cool about it tho). if you don’t mind sharing, what is the original textbook???*
(also don’t worry about not taking in info here it was just a casual post & i talk a lot)
The text book is Essentials of Abnormal Psychology, the version I have is just over 400 pages
And I wasn't actually in Social Service Work, but I bounced around programs a few times, eventually landed in Developmental Service Work, and the other programs I was in included some courses that are mandatory for SSW and/or DSW
adding that to the list to look at but it’s (i really don’t know how to phrase this but i don’t mean this as bragging) probably below my level overall now for that topic… i do like perusing undergrad abnormal psych books though because they can have neat pieces of information.
ahhh okay! i never took a single social work or service or counseling related class because i never wanted to work with patients or people in that kind of capacity… i would be terrible at that field. a lot of psych majors at my university would minor in social work or counseling but the minor was really irrelevant overall so i just went out of left field & chose philosophy… not even a science degree but i was always really interested in philosophy and morality/ethics because i also found it useful in psychology. philosophy helped me consider other viewpoints & approaches… psych started out as philosophy after all.
(ngl secretly thought a philosophy minor would make me stand out a bit more to grad school programs too but probably not lmao)
i know you’re no longer in it because you preferred cosmetology instead but what is the difference between social and developmental service work? (i’m assuming developmental only works with those type of clients but i mean… besides that)
"whats the difference between transgender and transsexual" transgender is what i say i am to piss off conservatives transsexual is what i say i am to piss off liberals. hope this helps!

kiss has to be one of the most disappointing bands ever. imagine hearing about this crazy rock band that dresses up in insane costumes and wears face paint and the one guy looks super demonic and has a really long tongue and everyone says they're satanic and then you listen to them and they're just singing about how they wanna bone but it's in a socially acceptable tongue in cheek way that your dad likes

i miss the sex workers and kinksters and toy collectors and furry porn makers so much man
rocking back and forth on the front porch cradling a mug of tea on my lap blanket eyes misting fondly as i remember long posts talking about lube safety
this isn’t a new or hot take or anything but the current trend of people just recording strangers in public is so fucking annoying and low key terrifying. the fact that someone can decide that i’m moving weird at the grocery store and record a video of me and get it reposted by barstool sports or whatever on tiktok makes me want to maul someone
i love those blinking red lights they put on top of radio towers and windmills and skyscrapers etc, theyre like electronic flowers or something to me
@schizlock
girl you are so strange and offputting
