Curlsmith might be the new meta because what is this
Like hellourr????
I’m remembering that one post from a bit ago about how the appeal of art/fic depicting Maedhros weeping over Fingon’s body is very real but there was no body. And I raise you: all the art/fic where beren cradles a dying finrod seems to forget that beren was still in chains. He was not stroking Finrod’s hair because he Could Not Move His Arms. Finrod probably died like a foot away from him and it probably haunted him all his life
whoever's idea it was to have womens t-shirts have those tiny sleeves that go way up into the armpits must have done that maliciously
if i was in jurassic park i'd be fine because the dinosaurs would love me and therefore not eat me

yes teenage girls can be dramatic and wild but honestly have u ever even seen what happens when u tell a grown man ‘no’

I KNEW THAT DOOR HAD A LOCK ON IT
like clockwork you point out a woman’s internalized misogyny and here comes someone saying the real misogynists were the feminists all along

So the new thing is CORCA (Combating Organized Retail Crime Act) which would turn any police encounter into a potential "immigration investigation" and turn every cop encounter into ICE business. ICE would have its own law enforcement force within, which would answer to ICE, and "aid" local police in the day to day.
There's already mass surveillance on levels most people don't realize, and this would be yet ANOTHER angle for us to do the work of this corrupt ass agency. ICE would be directly embedded into the police force, which if you don't get it yet, means that overly policed communities, neighborhoods, and individuals, would then be under the scrutiny of not just the already unbalanced law, but ICE.
A Karen calling the cops on teens out and about? ICE will be there. You're trying to leave an abusive relationship or family member? ICE will be there. Caught in a traffic stop, regardless of whether you were actually speeding or not? ICE will be there. DUI? ICE will be there. Even if you committed a damn murder, ICE has no fucking business being there.
Cops barely have the right to be cops in the first place, have shitty ass training and zero actual capabilities to "protect and serve", police forces across the country are teaming up with ICE anyways, and now we have to worry about Every. Single. Encounter. involving them?
Oh, and cities that don't comply lose federal funding. Because of course they do.
So go ahead and write a letter to or call your senator and tell them to fucking vote NO on CORCA. We live in the stupidest timeline and y'all need to be the ones bullying your governments into compliance, not the government bullying you. Jesus fuck.
Mind y'all, Texas is the testing ground for this. We already have this happening to some degree here in my city.
From July 18th to August 2nd is Operation: Slow Down in San Antonio TX. DPS is increasing the amount of speeding tickets they hand out to citizens. But Marcel, what does a speeding ticket have to do with O:SD or CORCA?
WELL. Officers initiating traffic stops are required to arrest anyone they suspect to be undocumented under "probable cause." Skin color, accent, the foreign-sounding name on your driver's license, they don't like your attitude, you posted something about Charlie Kirk once, you showed up to a protest once, you're visibly queer, you're visibly progressive-- all of that is probable cause for any officer with a badge and uniform to do as required and act on behalf of ICE.
This isn't fear mongering, people, this is reality happening right now to real people. There's no scary fantasy or conspiracy theory boards, no angry but unfounded tiktoks. Texans and out-of-staters visiting for any reason are up for grabs, and it's been signed into law by Senator Hot Wheels himself.
CORCA is the goal here, O:SD is the government trying to see what else they can get away with doing to Texans.
every spelunker should go in with a cyanide tooth capsule so if they get stuck they can take the gentle way out instead of being tortured by the earth for 72 hours and then dying anyway

it should be an explosive device, so they widen that part of the cave at the same time and no other spelunkers will get stuck there
beautiful vision. i love the idea of a minecraft-style world where if you explode underground it just clears a radius
someone tell OP i did it, i spent about 3 hours on it

The AFN's Seeking have yet to see real, on-the-ground changes to end violence against First Nations women, girls, and gender-diverse people.
