It’s too late to save me, save yourselves... there is drywall dust in places that should never be covered in drywall dust. This is the never ending story... mud, sand, wash, vacuum, mud more, sand some more, wash, vacuum again.

More frozen veggies and the last of the tomatoes from the garden. Oh my goodness i will be so thrilled when this kitchen is done. Today is a low point for me.... there seems to be so much more we have to do yet. Ugh! Plastic is back, more sanding, more mudding.
There is my bump-out, just three and a half inches. I still believe that it will create a bit of a wow factor when you walk into the kitchen. There will be no upper cabinets on this side of the kitchen.
Drywall going up! This is where you start to see the space. I am very pleased with the size of this kitchen and no, this photo does not represent that. :/
Rock wool is the most amazing insulation material. We always like to insulate the inner walls to add to the overall coziness inside. Drywall going up. :)
Lots of work on the west and east sides of the kitchen. The west side has dry wall now, (check out my larder) and the east side is now bumped-out. The bump-out is to be drywalled as well so that our cabinets will sit deeper than the average, that is, the counter top will be 29″ deep. :)
The dreaded plumbing begins.
The larder is almost framed. The electrician is here finishing up stuff so we can work on the plumbing. IT just feels like there is so much more to do before we put in the cabinets. (Note: I always say, “we” when it is almost always my husband). Hey, all forward motion counts!!
This is a much larger space than I hoped for. There should be six feet between sides, after the cabinets are installed. It will have lots of light too... loving that! Fifteen feet of cabinets. Oh my gosh, I am beyond excited. <3
OOOOOhhhh new cabinets!
Added two new windows and a new country like door. My husband put in new paper and wire around the outside and started the scratch and brown coat. Tomorrow while everyone else is BBQing, we will continue the reno and finish the ceiling in the kitchen and sealing up the outside. Happy Labor day 2018!
Bees be buzzing today. I think I’ll let them have some of these peaches.
I can’t stop looking at it! We are removing the trim and replacing the window on the brick. There is also a window on the garage that we are going to make into an art piece, facts to follow. After we replace and add a kitchen window, we can paint/add rain gutters. So excited. Although I am pretty sure all this outside stuff is US avoiding all the work we have on the inside. :)
Giant healthy looking avocado tree. Why are you losing fruit? Heat? It’s breaking our hearts.
NO MORE ‘A’ Loving the new look, the new ranch look. The paint guys come in a few weeks, after we finish installing two windows. Rain gutters the week after that.
NEW ROOF! Nothing as comforting as a new roof! Next I am working at getting the front 160 sq. ft. torn off and re built. I’ve gotten bids from painters and have picked colors. About twelve feet out from the house will be a sitting wall. Between that will be a brick patio of some sort, with a chunky pergola over it.
Ready for the next step, a roof, some patching, and paint. We decided on the paint colors and the roofers come tomorrow. My husband is finishing up some plumbing and the ceiling in the kitchen (eliminating the soffit). It promises to be a very productive weekend.
