RECRUITING NOW!

That last chapter reminds me how much I miss tumblr rp. What I’ve heard about the indie scene really puts me off, but I think I want to give it a go. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right :).
So, you can find me here musicmedicineminder.tumblr.com. This will be a multi muse blog for Rose, Nanao and Ryuken for the time being. I’m going to stick some rules up and pretty it up a little over the next few days. As reluctant as I am to start a new blog and forfeit the time put into building up the three I have, I think it would be best, really. They’re attached to my personal tumblr for one, and I’d like to draw a line between indie and former group stuff.
In all honesty, I have no idea what I’m doing here or how to get the word out, let alone how to find partners. So if anyone feels like helping me out with a pity reblog or two or maybe even few pointers on how to get started, I would be grateful.
Kathryn
akonabides:
“Right up here,” Akon replied, tapping his temple. At her continued look, he sighed. “Yes, I brought the plans as well, of course. It should be back down the hall, to the right. Come on.”
He hauled himself out of the bed and made his way through the massive building. His fingers itched for the familiar weight of a cigarette, but he grit his teeth and squashed the desire. He was trying to quit, and it was definitely bad form to smoke in someone else’s house.
Their path took them though a large banquet hall, into a kitchen and up to a large, closed walk-in freezer door. As he pulled it open, Akon couldn’t help but blink stupidly at the many shelves of food that greeted him.
“Well. I suppose that should keep the two of us for a while,” he said, raising his eyes and turning towards Nanao.
The two of them vacated the room, Nanao following a step behind, taking in the rooms around her with a serious, strategic approach. The client had been quite clear; they were here for the season, and the general interior upkeep would, more likely than not, fall to her. Although, she thought, the two of them entering the kitchen, there was likely to be very little for either of them to do here.
She was deep into silent, mental, lists of inventory and potential repairs, when she first felt it. It was only a little thing; a flash in the corners of her vision, the odd, gradual sense of something behind her, watching the two of them make their way through the building. At first, it was easy enough to ignore. Nanao shook it off, went back to her lists, certain she was imagining it. It would go away soon.
It persisted however. Began to creep up on her, until Nanao found her thoughts far, far away from the task at hand and centering back on the odd, insistent feeling of eyes boring into her back. She didn’t turn around, her eyes on Akon, confident that there was no-one else here but them, convinced it has to be her imagination. Wouldn’t they have heard someone else enter from here, she thought; the front door wasn’t too far from where they were. Wouldn’t they here footsteps, or some other sign of life? Although, she puzzled, if it was her imagination, then why did it feel so real?
“Huh!?”
Nanao shudderd, blinked, realizing he’d spoken and a question had been asked, but no idea what it was. She turned her head, glaring at a nondescript point somewhere in the distance, certain that’s where the watcher would have stood.
“What was that?”
akonabides:
Do You See Them?
“Yeah, that’s what I’ve heard as well.”
Akon flopped backwards onto the bed, relaxing for a few moments as he stared at the intricately-adorned ceiling. A soft smile played on his lips.
“I think the owners have been gone a week, maybe a bit more. Not gonna lie, I didn’t know what to expect. But it looks like this will mostly be upkeep. More like a vacation for the next couple of months, right?”
He propped himself up and rolled his neck.
“Let’s check out the rest of the house; I wanna know exactly what we are in for here. And definitely take stock of the food; they said they left enough for us, but I don’t wanna end up starving to death in a blizzard!”
Nanao turned away from the bed, hearing the sound of her companion sinking back deep against the luxurious sheets; clearly enjoying what they’d been left to oversee. Settling on the windowsill, Nanao glanced out across the grounds, nodding at the response, swallowing hard as she saw the miles of country stretching out in front on them; the town nowhere to be seen. The little spike of unease returned, becoming ever more familiar; although, as she thought of the weeks ahead, Nanao couldn’t quite but her finger on what made her so nervous.
“That explains the cleanliness....” she wrinkled her nose “better than the last place, wouldn’t you agree?”
She looked over her shoulder at Akon, arms still crossed, but manged a smile. It was hard to stay too pensive when she knew she wasn’t alone. This would be just like all the others, there was nothing to worry about.
“Yes, we should” she slipped off the window sill and made her way to the door “You had the plans of this place, do you remember the way?”

Writing Commissions
kangkorandkoloth:
Sooo, this is new!
In light of the current pandemic, my being stuck at home and furloughed from my job until further notice, I’d like to do something to keep myself entertained and a little cash coming in.
So… how am I going to do this?
I now intend to take in a small amount of writing commissions.Further details are below the cut.
My Fandoms
Bleach - this is where the bulk of my writing has focused for the last six years.
Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler
Fire Emblem - Awakening, Sacred Stones, Radiant Dawn and Path of Radiance are the games I’m most familiar with
Harry Potter - it’s been a while (like ten years), but I’ve written stuff for this fandom before
His Dark Materials
I am open to writing for other fandoms by negotiation. This will be looked at on a case by case basis and may incur an extra charge depending on how much research I’d need to do. I also do original fic, again this will be handled on a case by case basis with a bespoke price to reflect work undertaken.

Tsukishima

Name:
Fumiko Ise. Again Nanao’s choice (apparently means a variety of things from beautiful child to historical child, to intellectual according to wikipedia and depending on Kanji). Took Nanao’s surname as I’m not sure just how much Tsukishima would be around for this child.

Nanao wrapped her hands around her teacup, bringing it to her lips and taking a shaky sip of the liquid within as she hum’d and nodded her way through their conversation. She was a prisoner of her own thoughts right now; weighing up various strategies and options while smiling on the outside, acting as if this was just another meeting between the two of them; a chance to discuss books or some other interest.
The tea did nothing to steady her nerves. In fact the smell made her nauseous, exacerbating her wan, slightly drawn complexion and offering a hint that she was not quite herself. She’d felt unwell since the moment she’d woken up and being here with him, knowing what needed to be done before they parted company was not helping settled her stomach.
Her head felt like a lead weight, thoughts swimming and brain wearied by the the news she had to tell; all the while Nanao slowly coming to the conclusion that there would be no comfortable way to do it. Part of her wondered if this wouldn’t feel so difficult if they were facing this many years from now having known each other a long time. Perhaps with the benefit of time, the subject would have been easier to broach; she would at least know his opinion on starting a family and be forewarned if the idea of a baby would send him running for the hills. A happy well planed situation years from now was not what they were facing however, and Nanao knew she had to face this unknown before it was too late. Leave it too long and he was certain to work it out for himself anyway.
The sudden absence of his voice made Nanao look up sharply, painfully aware she had no idea when he’d stopped talking or in fact anything he’d said in the last few minutes . She floundered for something to say, blushing at having been caught out, but gave up quickly and mumbled an apology. She let out a sigh, aware that her distraction had managed to gain his full attention and it wouldn’t be too much longer before he began to question what was on her mind. This presented Nanao with a window of opportunity and she knew that she couldn’t put it off any longer.
“Tsukishima?” she said after a moment, trying to sound offhand and matter of fact, but failing miserably. Her voice was unnaturally quiet, her eyes wide, betraying a little of her anxiety “I have some news, something you need to know“
allplotsend:
The heightened emotions of the wait were visible in Nanao’s body language when Tsukishima raised his eyes, and the relief was plain once he finished talking. But she’d posed him a new question, one that was easy enough to answer.
“I didn’t mean to imply that any help from me would step on your autonomy… I did offer to be involved, even if the specifics were a bit vague for your comfort at the moment,” Tsukishima gave her an understanding smile to show he meant no derision with the comment before continuing.
“But had I reacted by, well, assuming that you needed any specific thing from me, be that emotional or financial support, or by fussing, or even by making plans that will affect your life while you’re obviously, understandably, still off-center - I think that would have been a bit heavy-handed of me.”
Tsukishima watched her interaction with her drink, already reaching for it as Nanao asked for it to be removed. “Of course,” he responded before making short work of disposing of the tea and asking the barista for a water as replacement.
But he looked around doubtfully as he set the water in front of her. “Do you really want to talk here, Nanao? I don’t mind waiting to discuss the particulars until we’re someplace less … aromatic … and more private,” he offered, seemingly in concern. “I think we got the most pressing bit over for the moment, at least.”
“Here isn’t ideal…”
Nanao took the water, feeling immeasurably better now that the over-powering stench of the tea was out of her vicinity. Her voice trailed off in favour of taking a deep sip from the glass, still not herself but more able to focus on what needed to be said and done with everything out in the open.
“ever since…” she shrugged her shoulders, tried for a smile, more confident in telling him all this all of this now that the hard part was out of the way, but it came out more like a grimace “nothing really smells quite right and places like this make it worse”
She sighed, the glass held weakly in her hand. In her head, she’d feel better if they talked more, nut didn’t exactly want to stay here either. He did have a point she conceded, but her limited knowledge of this realm and the surrounding area really hindered her from suggesting another venue. This was his realm, his neighborhood and Nanao was at a loss. She knew this café, because that was where he always bought her when he suggested they meet. There’d been other places, of course but Nanao didn’t relish the idea of going to a hotel either. In a way it was easier to stay whether she liked it or not, and any move would need to be directed by him.
“where would you suggest?” she asked, wearily “you’re right the most important bit is out of the way… I’d just feel better if we started to make a plan of some sort”
If they had a kid!
From Here || accepting || @lying-prophet
Name:
Ise, Himeko - Nanao insisted on her family name. There’s no real rhyme or reason behind the given name other than Nanao liked it. Possible meaning for the Kanji (卑弥呼 according to wikipedia) is sun and Rice child or Princess child.

If They Had A Kid...
Name:
Tsuruhime - taken from here and Nanao’s choice, thinking it a name that would suit both their tastes. No surname as I genuinely couldn’t decide whether Ise or Zaraki suited her better
i-am-the-kenpachi replied to your post “If They Had A Kid (for akonabides; because why not? :P )”
This is amazing! I love it! Haha I might have to send one for Kenpachi as well :P
XD now that’s an interesting combination, go for it :) I’ll do any more I get tomorrow
If They Had A Kid (for akonabides; because why not? :P )
From Here || Accepting|| @akonabides
Name:
Ise, Misato (specifically with the Kanji 美知 for Misato) - it means beautiful knowledge which sounds like something they’d chose. Nanao insisted that Misato carried her family name.

Happy International Women’s Day
I thought I’d take an opportunity to share some fun historical facts about International Women’s Day because I like history and feminism and this is both!
1909: The Socialist part of America holds “Women’s Day” on February 28th
1910: German delegates, Clara Zetkin (1857-1933; Marxist theorist, activist and women’s rights advocate) and Käte Duncker (1871-1953; German politician and feminist) introduce the idea of an annual women’s day at the 1910 International Socialist Women’s Conference
1911: First International Women’s Day is observed on March 19. Hundreds of demonstrations are held in various countries. Women demand the vote and protest sex discrimination.
1914: Germany holds IWD on a Sunday, which happens to be March 8th, and that becomes the official annual date
In London, England, suffragettes hold a march and Sylvia Pankhurst (1882-1960; suffragette and socialist) is arrested. (This is one of eight times that she is arrested, and force-fed. Her first-hand account of the force-feeding was later published, but be forewarned, it’s not easy to read)
1917: Russia (on March 8th by the Gregorian calendar, but February 23rd by the Julian calendar, that Russia still used until 1918): Working women hold a demonstration for bread and peace, in protest of WWI and the mass death and famine it was bringing to Russia.
The demonstration evolved into a riot, which lasted 8 days. Protesters threw bricks and chunks of ice at police. A military garrison was dispatched, however, the members of the garrison sided with the protesters, and began shooting at the police.
This riot led to Tsar Nicholas II abdicating the throne, and came to be known as the February Revolution (one of two revolutions in 1917, that together form the Russian Revolution) and Russian Women were granted suffrage. Following this revolution, IWD became a predominantly communist holiday and in 1965, became a non-working holiday in Russia.
1922: China begins commemorating IWD. In 1927, a march of 25,000 demonstrators is held, and in 1949, IWD becomes a national holiday, and women workers are given a half day off.
1967: IWD remains predominantly communist until it is adopted by the Women’s Liberation Movement as a day of activism and protest.
… there is more, but the rest is more recent and also the day was co-opted by corporations, like everything always is, and I’m personally more interested in the activism part of it.
