The Garou perpetrated a mass murder of mortals in ancient times to quell their rising numbers, which in turn only drove mankind to fear nature and spew concrete ruin across the earth in order to defend from it. -That they are wolf-men? The Garou are only well-known and widespread because they have abused and slain other shifter-tribes with just as much of a right to live and a responsibility to "Mother Gaia" as they. Just ask the were-bulls and were-serpents... oh, wait. You can't. They were driven to annihilation by the Garou, in the War of Rage.

i get that the "tzimisce pride themselves on being good hosts" thing is because of dracula in the book hauling ass around the castle to pretend he has servants (and partially due to the eastern european grandma archetype for the lack of a better term) but actually the stereotypical tzimisce has it easy because they have gmo'd ghouls that can do a lot of stuff for them which makes it trivial to be a good host if all you're doing is ordering people around behind the guest's back while engaging them in small talk

which is why i want to propose a tzimisce tradition where when they really want to show someone how charming hosts they make they explicitly state how many things they prepared with their own hands (rich people tend to ignore their staff and be like "yeah i did this and that" when it was actually a servant that did it so it has to be specified). cleaning the entire house yourself is not necessary but welcome, but the real test is decorations, itinerary, specially chosen vessels to feed from – who have to be calm and collected and have to tell the guests how they were found by the host and what they can expect from their blood. stuff like that. i don't know if something similar is described in any sourcebooks (it might be!) but yeah

The mental effort of simply allowing another into one’s own home, then to take advantage of the servants one has meticulously crafted for one’s own ends, is more than enough.

And do not speak to me of small talk. Small though it may be, fine and tedious it is also. A duel of wits, a war of words with no win condition and multiple loss conditions.

Besides, the efforts of one’s servants are most certainly one’s own efforts, no? An extension of the lord of the house, fully tied to their master’s word and command.
