and as you MIGHT be able to see from my shitty screenshot (actually I don't think anyone could, but I'm too lazy to screen record it and then edit it so you'll just have to take my word for it), some of the animations have SEVERAL flags in them, maybe even all of them. Mine starts out as the fainbow flag (but without the POC add), then moves on to this aka trans and enby at the same time (yk, side to side), then moves on to bi and lesbian at the same time, sometimes pan as well, then to aro and ace at the same time. SOMETIMES intersex is added to the mix but not by its own, it's usually next to some of the flags I've already mentioned, but not usually (im guessing bc most lgbt posts on this website aren't tagged intersex, and I've been told there has to be a tag for ir to show up -- on mobile at least).
But also: you have no idea how long it took for me to figure that out. The flags only do 2 (maybe even just 1 and a half even) swirls around the heart, so it goes by REALLY FAST so it's really hard to identify them. Hopefully someone else gets all the flags at once when they like a post and will prove me right here by screen recording and editing that to not only crop it but slow it down....
Ok I went out of my way to screenshot the like 27338 fucking times to be able to get the moment of one of the changes from one flag to another, just to be more credible, but fr

People die on the job every summer. Remember that water and shade breaks are crucial when working in the heat, and calling emergency services for signs of serious heat illness (fatigue, nausea/vomiting, headaches, dizziness, clammy skin, confusion, agitation, slurred speech, high body temperature, rapid heart rate, etc.) is entirely appropriate. If you’re afraid to call 911 for reasons such as being undocumented, you’ll need to get very familiar with how to prevent, recognize, and treat heat illness. If you are symptomatic and not allowed a break, water, or medical treatment, walk out. No matter how broke you are, your job is not worth your life.
Official please put yourself first sign
I just wanted to add that people will try to hide their symptoms. I've had 3 confirmed heat strokes (but probably more -- my friends call me "a husky that shouldn't have been brought to [tropical city]" lol) and every single time I thought I "just needed a minute" or smth like that, and, like. If your coworker is clearly not doing great (look for signs like trembling hands or taking and drinking every cup of water they get like they probably wanted more), SAY SOMETHING. If there's fear of deportation or job termination, talk to them, beg them to go home. If there isn't, their superior, even. You could be saving a life.

being a kid and hearing adults say stuff like "woah 2011 was 4 years ago haha" didn't really convey the fucking horror of a youtube video crossing my recommended labelled "9 years ago" and it's from 2017. that's not true. 9 years ago is 2010 or something. don't lie.

it would explain so much about Gotham economics if it turned out the only employers who pay a livable minimum wage are 1) Wayne Enterprises duh, but mainly 2) all of Gotham's assorted villains.
sure henching comes with shitty working conditions, but the benefits package is crazy competitive. they have dental
Gotham's villains are so engrained because supervillainy is the only thing propping up the local economy. henching requires no work experience, provides on-the-job training, and has a diversity hiring program (you're willing to commit crimes in tacky matching uniforms? great you're in, here's your gun and clownsuit)
Batman is constantly throwing money trying to compete but the fact remains that henchpeople are Gotham's largest workforce and will be until minimum wage laws catch up to reality
even educated jobs in environmental science are probably getting laundered money from poison Ivy. and a lab equipment tech might notice three different jobs are tied to pamela Isley and also happened to receive grants from "unrelated" shady shell orgs and the next one is setting up a temperature controled penguin habitat for some eccentric obvious mobster.
half of Gotham's supervillains have doctorates of course they're also funding the sciences (for crime purposes but still)
we need a new supervillain who gets drawn into villainy specifically to make money for funding grants. they come up with a theme and wacky outfit and loony backstory but at the end of the work day they change back into their alter ego (tired scientist with bags under their eyes and a hotpocket stuck in their labcoat). they're actually very mild mannered irl—the villain persona comes from their background in Theatre Arts
a lot of stuff happened but i'm choosing to remember 2025 as the year i found out people with green eyes exist irl
couple things:
yes i spent my entire life until a few months ago assuming green eyes were an urban legend
"what about all the fictional characters with green eyes" thought it was a trope like with anime protagonists having naturally purple hair
i found out by watching Desperate Housewives (one of the actors has green eyes and it threw me off)
(i had never watched Desperate Housewives until that point bc i assumed it was reality tv, of the same genre as Real Housewives Of Metropolitan Areas franchise)
i still haven't seen green eyes irl, i am simply aware now that they actually exist
"have you really never met a person with green eyes." i didn't say that. it's possible I've met dozens. my autistic ass has spent decades elevating eye contact avoidance to a sublime art form.
did more research and now I'm sort of leaning back to my original stance that green eyes don't actually exist? people say "green" but all i'm seeing is eyes that are blue-and-brown. can i get some example photos so i know what we're talking about???
I assume this is what people think of when they imagine green eyes. Whether they look green or not is mostly a lighting thing from what I've seen. I have gray eyes that can look green in the right light.
Green eyes are also the rarest eye color period, so I don't actually blame you for not knowing they existed at all.
these are just blue with brown/yellow mixed in? i have those type of eyes, i assume they're pretty common. definitely less rare than people with 100% blue eyes with no mix-ins
blue with yellow mixed in
and what do you get when you mix blue and yellow
ok listen
Gaud
I think you might have green eyes
they're not green they are blue and yellow that's two different colors neither of those colors is green this is what im talking about people say "green eyes" and then it turns out they're just talking about eyes with multiple colors (blue, brown, yellow) none of which is actually green!!!!!!!!!
As of writing you have a little over 24 hours give or take to learn that grey eyes exist as well!
that's light blue
That's grey with a hint of blue.
my outer irises are the same damn shade, i would be aware if that was gray, but it is not it is WISHY WASHY BLUE
Clearly the only solution to this is to post a blurry closeup of your own eyes for us to argue about
*sighs*
FUCK ALL OF YOU
they are pale BLUE and YELLOW my phone camera is just shitty they are two separate colors part blue and part yellow two colors
TUMBLR STOP COLOR PICKING MY EYEBALL
In conclusion, I will fondly remember 2025 as the year i found out green eyes exist (and absolutely nothing else interesting or noteworthy happened).
I'm excited to greet the bright shining year of 2026 still not 100% convinced that gray eyes are a real thing.
Happy new year to all, and to all a good FUCKING night🖕🖕🖕
i mean this looks pretty damn grey to me
Ok, I was one of the first people to reply to this post, when it only had a few notes, and as it turns out, the replies after mine (specially the rude ones -- and believe me, if you go through them you'll find many) are starting to get to me, so. As a medical intern who works in an ophthalmologist clinic and sees eyes under a microscope all the time (and was practically raised there, playing with all the equipment as a kid and asking all the questions you can think of about eye color — to actual ophthalmologists who have PhDs, btw —, since mine was so "different" from others and, yk, kids be curious), I really wanna say some things.
First, green eyes exist. And they are, in fact, one of the rarest eye colors in the world, a lot more than blue. It's entirely possible and not strange at all for someone to go their entire lives without meeting someone with actual green eyes — ESPECIALLY if that person lives in a place where the majority of the population are POC.
Secondly, a LOT of eyes with different, "odd" mixes of colors are mistaken for green, or said to be green (by other people, including doctors sometimes, or/and by the person themselves) because it's just easier than to list all the colors that they have in them.
Thirdly, and maybe most importantly: since there are eyes that are just plain green, that is different than having eyes that have 2 or more different colors that, when mixed, make green. "Plain green" eyes are, in fact, rarer than eyes with different colors that, when mixed, "make green".
Now, the real question this post seem to be arising is: if someone has eyes with 2 or more different colors that, when mixed, make green; do they have green eyes?
And, here's the thing: THERE IS NO RIGHT ANSWER. Why would there be? Who fucking cares? I, personally, think the answer the statistics use is "no", because if not, the % of green eyes would be much higher.
seething about the fact that i will never experience photosynthesis in my own useless cells. i bet it feels so good when the light of the sun both warms you and fuels you at the same time. a bone-deep satisfaction mixed with a heated sugar-rush and endless brightness. not that i would fucking know
this sounds like a party to me
Mammals both produce milk and have hair. Ergo, a coconut is a mammal.
I know you’re being facetious, but this is an actual issue with morphology-based phylogeny.
*leans over and whispers to person beside me* what are they talking about
*leans over and whispers back* Human ability to quantify and categorize natural phenomena is sketchy at best and wildly misleading at worst
consider the coconut
this reminds me of that time Plato defined humans as “featherless bipeds” and Diogenes ran in with a plucked chicken screaming “BEHOLD A MAN!”
i love how you say “it reminds me of that time” like you were there.
listen if an immortal feels brave and supported enough to come out we should respect them
This post is a journey
1 Reblog = 1 Respect
I maintain that humans started attempting classify animals, and some god or another made the platypus, and is still laughing.
Zeus: *hits joint* okay so like. It’s gonna have a duck bill right. But an otter body okay? And then a beaver tail. It’s a mammal. But. It lays eggs!
Hades: wait wait dude. Give it. Give it poison. Make it poisonous
Athena: You mean venomous, and make sure the eggs have both reptile and bird traits. Hermes: *takes the joint* Give it extra senses. Poseidon: It should be aquatic.
I MEAN where’s the lie
Demeter: … And where exactly do you expect me to put this? Everyone: Australia.
the way ozempic has finally made the fact that eating healthy and exercising doesn't necessarily make you thin well known and society's reaction to this is not "oh i guess being thin or fat doesn't actually show if you're healthy" but "oh i guess everyone should be on this drug"
I hate that this is infact how ozempic is viewed now because I watched, in real time, how my mothers diabetes got significantly better on ozempic, she didn't start it for weight loss, infact she started it before it even got big for weight loss, but all people can talk about is the weight loss on ozempic and not how good it is as a diabetes medication. Watching my mom find energy and happiness because for once a drug wasn't making her lethargic and miserable was wonderful, she was able to feel better, but then it was spouted as this miracle weight loss drug, and suddenly she just couldn't access it anymore at a good price. Not only has the ozempidemic made fatphobia normal in an already fatphobic society but it's making it harder to access for people who genuinely need it because it's seen as a luxury cosmetic drug.
and how this is even bigger now with mounjaro...
