Ok so I saw this post yesterday and I couldn't stop thinking about it while I couldn't sleep last night, so while it is true i don't think i've ever heard of a neopets creepypasta, here's my idea for one:
Back in the day there used to be a neoboard category called "Evil Things and Monster Sightings" this board was very slow and not many people posted on it. When I was a kid, I would check it out every once in a while because it always intrigued me, I loved Neopets, it was so fun and colorful and the thought that there was evil lurking was intriguing, especially since some darker themes would pop up throughout the site. Neopets also had so many secrets and unexplained mechanics so there was always a chance someone would be posting on the boards about something they discovered that no one else knew about. So this makes the site so ripe for creepypasta? Its wild there was never one, or very many creepy rumors or something
So my idea for a creepypasta, since I don't have the time to write it all out like an actual story:
A user comes across a topic on the Evil Things and Monster Sightings board, where a member posts a link to a mysterious new land they found. Its a legit neopets.com link. The board soon gets deleted, and when you search the user who created the topic doesnt exist when you look them up
The world is a smaller one, maybe has one functional shop and a few other pages, but the world is all creepy and dark and twisted. But, there's some sort of new daily activity that entices the user in, and not many people seem to know about it, so they can make neopoints from this.
Throughout the land there are warnings to users that they are participating in the stuff in this land at their own risk. The warnings escalate as the user continues to visit (and profit) from the land. The images of the map and various places in the world also chance subtly change over time. Maybe their active neopet also has a random event being scared and that escalates to the neopet begging the user to stop taking them there
After enjoying this edgy and profitable land for some time, a new activity on the map appears, promising some amazing prizes, but a dire warning: This Activity Will Kill Your Neopet. Clicking to do the activity brings out a screen like the pound, except here the neopet is begging for their life. You get some chances to turn back
In the story the user is conflicted, coming back to the activity a few times throughout a week or a few weeks, building the tension in the story until they finally go through with it and sacrifice the loyal adorable neopet to the activity. There is probably gory imagery maybe even sounds of screaming playing. The user turns off their computer in distress and doesnt even look at what prize they got
The next day they work up the courage to log on again. They have a full neomail inbox, its mostly hate mail, some questions about how they did what they did, and a few people linking them to a neoboard post. By the same user who posted the original link post (spooky!) on the general boards, lambasting the user for being a heartless NEOPET MURDERER. There are tons of replies similar to all the neomails the user got. They probably log off again and don't log in for a while.
Weeks, months, years later they log back into neopets, trying to figure out what happened. On the home screen there's messages that their other neopets have left, afraid they would be the next to be sacrificed. No neopets show up in the pound and they get a message that the pound won't adopt out to a murderer. They try to create a new pet and that pet also leaves immediately. They try and look at the land again, but now its a 404 page. They go to the boards and ask around and no one remembers them or the incident, even after they share screenshots
