Child porn isn't wrong because it's gross and people who like it are weirdos, it's wrong because a child is coerced into performing sex acts on film and it is documentation of a legitimate crime and harm being done to someone, it's on the level of snuff film. It wouldn't be okay to watch a video of someone actually being raped either and getting off on it. That's not porn anymore that's evidence and having it isn't being arrested for liking weird porn it's being arrested for withholding evidence of a crime that wasn't immediately brought to the police. I had a child molester neighbor who took pictures of me and my brothers I know what a real crime and real harm looks like. When it's drawn by one person about not-real-people, regardless of what that very likely says about that person based on their depictions, it is value neutral and not inherently any more harmful than anything else of its kind. Since no real children or people are being harmed, it's just okay. Find those who see the Evil of our government. Associate. The problem with going "well all countries are evil" is that the United States is the world hegemond, and has been since the end of WWII. Like first of all, the mention of toby fox kind of gives up the ghost about what this tweet is really about. Like toby fox (and correct me if im wrong) has never really been harassed by his fans in a meaningful capacity. The closest thing to "harassment" he has received is criticism from latine fans about him not supplying non-Japanese translations to his game (I don't really want to hear any discourse about this. whether hes in the right or not isn't the point). Its not really about lolcowing, its about their faves getting criticized (specially accused of being racist. Im white so Im not particularly qualified to talk about this but im almost certain that the only reason people are playing defense squad is because their accusations relate to racism. Smarter people then me have talked about this but like... its definitely the elephant in the room)

The other tweet is a sort of a semi-common line I've seen get thrown around in the wake of any controversy of this flavor. "why are you criticizing Y instead of X?" its dumb for a lot of reasons, like first of all, you can do both. Most people do both. But its also funny because a lot of the people who throw out this line dont actually criticize whoever x in this situation is. (its like that one tweet about firebombing a walmart. I'd edit it but im too lazy.) Its just a line they can toss out whenever someone wants to plug their ears.
