“Happy new year, ladies and germs!”
lunarxprophet:
“So these vampires are like demons, then? I can assure you that I am no demon, or other bloodthirsty creature, so you need not worry about that.”
At the question, Waka paused before an idea came to him.
“You mean like this?~”
He made a dramatic gesture, which caused sparkles to appear around him. To add more flair, he lept into the air, glittering as he made his way to a tree branch way up high.
Pinky’s pretty sure he’s met demons before-- those are the green, horned, devilish little helpers down in Heck, aren’t they? They don’t outwardly bear any resemblance to any sort of vampire he’s ever seen, but personality matters more than appearances, of course, and personality-wise they were oh so much fun to play with! Yes, sparkles would fit right in among their cheery laughter and ticklish games; he nods enthusiastically, stopping only to stare, awed, as his plan... actually... works?
“Naaarf,” he compliments, then breaks out into a round of applause and a few delighted hops back and forth.
“Bravo, bravo! Egad, you really are a vampire!” The glitter, the pizzazz, the astounding leaps up into tall trees-- who knew Ms. Meyer had done her research so well?
“Now, can you turn into a bat, yet, or are you still taking your vampire lessons?”
@lunarxprophet || Cont!
“Gesundheit.”
“We-ell, vampires are the sparkly, blood-thirsty apex predators of any girl’s dreams! I thought with some clever reverse psychology, I could make you start glittering in the sunlight like Robert Pattinson. Or like a big, dressed-up disco ball! ...did it work?”

head full but i dont even know what’s in there
origingened:
what in the world is a narf? mew tilts their head, mouth forming a small o in confusion. maybe he’s speaking some other language that isn’t pokemon or human. huh!
oh! well, that seems to not be the case, given that he follows up the sound with a proper greeting. they nod along to his first question, trill in amusement at his second, then begin giggling in delight as he continues to wonder aloud. how silly that he can’t even tell if he’s thinking or speaking!
they drift back a few inches, pushed off balance in midair by their own laughter, only to flip back upright and reach out to poke the mouse’s stomach with a gentle paw.
[i’m mew. that’s what i am, so that’s what people call me. but some people call me cookie. you can use either one. what about you? what’s your name?]
“Did I do something funny?” If so, he’ll try to do it again-- his new friend has a wonderful laugh. And wonderful eyes, and two wonderful names, and the most wonderfully silly air-gymnastics he’s ever seen!
Pinky’s difficulties with the map have been completely forgotten, as have all of his other worries. Who could waste time fretting around Mew-Cookie?
He giggles back at the poke-- that tickled!-- and takes note of this new definition. Mew = bubbly pink sparkly laughter and fun fun fun! It’s a nice word, too, mew. Not one he’d mind saying a lot. Mew. ...yes, he could call them Mew, but--
“Wouldn’t it be sweet of me to call you Cookie?” He flops back onto the map, crinkling it as he rolls with laughter, and introduces himself through another round of giggles.
“I’m-- Pinky!” He pauses, slowly sitting up to scrutinize Cookie with a discerning eye. “But you’re pink...y. Maybe you should be called Pinky instead? Poit!”
i feel like ep 6 was missing something..
@dotomorrownight
oh, mew knows what this is! it’s a “mouse”!
this one doesn’t look like anda’s pet sundae, though. he’s standing on top of a map and scrutinizing the lines, so… maybe he’s lost? mew didn’t know that mice were smart enough to read maps. this must be the smartest mouse in the city!
they loop through the air before swooping down, coming nearly nose-to-nose with the little guy.
[hi. can you understand me?]
They sure make maps hard to read in this city. Carry the one, divide by the squiggly lines in the corner, and... nope. Pinky still can’t pronounce the name of his Ward, or figure out how far he’s wandered from home. Brain would love all these big words and complex lines (or at least be able to understand them) but without him here to say even bigger words in a long, drawn-out explanation, trying to make heads or tails of the paper Pinky’s standing on is just making the poor mouse’s head hurt.
He’s interrupted from his deep ponderings by something light and vaguely familiar-head-shaped, and for a brief moment, as unlikely as it would be, he almost expects to look up to see Brain about to give him a much-welcome scolding. But the eyes that he finds himself staring into are blue like his own, rather than the expected pink, and it doesn’t take long to realize that whatever this creature is, it 1. can float, and 2. is unlike anything he’s seen before.
“Naaaarf,” he comments wisely.
“H-Hello. I can! ...better than this map, anyway. Can you understand me? ...am I talking out loud right now? I hear myself talk in my head so much, it can be hard to tell when I’m speaking outside of it! Like right now. And right now. And this one, too! ...no, wait, I definitely said that last bit with my mouth. What are you?”
Winter outfit
forsakenpumpkin:
The stuffed animals’ eyes flash as the puppet beneath them wakes up, but they have no further reaction to the words. Besty, however, blinks with a curious awareness as he processes the words being said to him. He adjusts his hat, which is seemingly more front-heavy than usual, to get it off of his eyes as he floats up to a neutral position.
Club? “No, it’s a porch,” Besty says, squinting. He can’t see the owner of the voice that just spoke to him, even though he’s sure it came from above. Then he feels the weight on his hat shift again.
“Gee, I didn’t know you two could talk!” Besty says. He still doesn’t think they can, but he can goof on it anyway. “And I wouldn’t charge friends, sillies.”
The hat shifts under his paws and Pinky stumbles, pinwheeling his arms to stay upright.
A porch? He scratches at his head as the hat porch stabilizes again, peering around for old wicker rocking chairs-- a staple of any good porch-- until he realizes that the whole thing just rocked right below him. Brilliant!
“Right! Does your enclosed porch take a one-time fee, or is it pay by the month?”
“Us two? You two? Me two?” He looks back and forth between the mouse and the snake, getting no further clues as to which has spoken beyond the fact that the new voice doesn’t quite seem to match either of theirs (or at least, either of the funny little voices he’s made up for them in his head). But it doesn’t really matter, not when one or the other or both of them are so sweet!
“Thanks! ...except you can’t really charge at anyone anyway, can you? Hard to do that without limbs, even for a snake, I’d bet.” Still, it’s the thought that counts. And they’ve already called him a friend, which is doubly-bubbly nice!
Welcomed with a lack of open arms, Pinky sits, letting his tail swish happily over the edge of the brim as he cocks his head at his new friends.
“So do you have names, or should I just say the Long and the Short of it?”
Pinky and the Brain + Touching: Brain Grabbing Pinky’s Wrist
starter call! || @wovensentinel
The city is vast, and it feels even bigger for someone as small as Pinky. Brain’s Suit isn’t here to ride around in, and Brain himself isn’t here to create any other means of transportation or of interacting with humans on their own scale, so Pinky’s explorations have been limited to the areas around his housing for the first few days of his stay.
Luckily, he’s already managed to find the most fun fun silly willy sort of distraction that anyone could ever want from a strange new city-- the loud brr-rr-rrr noises of saws and the thunk of flying chunks of razor-edged ice! ...okay, so maybe the ice-sculpting station is a little more dangerous than it is fun and welcoming, but that’s never stopped Pinky from making his own fun before.
He’s already made dozens of snow-angels in the excess dustings of discarded ice, gotten his tongue stuck to three separate sculptures that were too delicious-looking to resist (an ice-ice cream cone, a fish, and maple leaf that tasted nothing like syrup), and gotten very kindly unstuck by sculptors who didn’t think that a panicking mouse added much to the artistic impact of their pieces.
It’s been an exhausting few hours, even for Pinky, and he flops down heavily next to a quiet observer who’s been lingering on the fringes of the ring of sculptors. The stranger has bigger ears than Pinky himself (assuming those pointy thingies are ears, of course), and he giggles to himself, delighted, as he props himself up to address the stranger.
“Which one’s yours?” he gestures to the sculptures littering the area, asking in the sort of tone that one parent might use with another when referring to children playing in a park-- expectantly, and with just a hint of over-familiarity borne of assumed comradery.
Mondays.
I like to dress them
charmingsecretary:
“I…”
Susie creases her brow and rubs her increasingly aching temples. She can only attribute this manner of speech to the creature’s diminutive size.
“I’m sorry, but are you saying because you take food out of the device, it should be called an of-out instead? That… That doesn’t even begin to make sense.”
“I mean, you put food in to begin with, so under that logic, it’d be an ‘of-in-out’…” Darn it, now he’s got her thinking about it. She’ll have to look up the etymology now.
Ooh, she’s smart. She’s got it in one! Or would Brain say that just means she’s as empty-headed as Pinky?
“Brilliant! ...oh, wait, no. No, that doesn’t really work, does it? I mean, the food’s not hot when you put it in, is it? You don’t put hot food in and get cold food out-- that’s just a refrigerator, or really slow take-out.”
They could call it an of-take-out, or an... of-in-of-take-out, or...
“This is a tough one! Maybe we should just call it an in-of and leave it at that?”
starter call! || @ombraventi
"Tra la lalala, tra la la narf!”
Pinky spins as he belts out a tune that’s just a little off-key in the worst of places, trailing colorful ornaments behind him that are bigger than the mouse himself. They’re hooked on a train of bright blue tinsel that’s been tossed over his shoulder like a feather boa, and they tinkle as they clack together with each twirl and leap. He’s discovered one of the many boxes of decorations scattered around the new Mistwood trees.
From the looks of things, he’s taken it upon himself to empty the box of its contents and hand-deliver each decoration to the small crowds of participants gathered in the area. ...or maybe he’s just using them to dress for the holidays.
“Tra la lala--oof!” His next round of singing comes to an abrupt halt as he dances straight into someone’s leg. Stumbling back with a laugh, Pinky shakes his head to clear it and looks up and up and up until his gaze settles on an impressive-looking gem-thingy and the face of its owner.
He stares for a moment, wide-eyed, then scrambles to unhook a shining red ornament from his train and hold it out to the stranger.
“Take this one! It matches your eyes and your hat and your shoes and your belt and oooh, won’t you look stunning with one more big sparkly red accessory! You’ll be the talk of the tree circle! Just remember to tell everyone you’re wearing Pinky Chanel when they ask about your designer, troz!”
