Snowy owls are powerful tundra birds, colored for camouflage. Those spotted south of Canada often attract photographers and media buzz. They are carnivorous, typically solitary, raptors. In flight, they are capable of knocking an adult human to the ground.

Like humans, snowy owls are diurnal. This makes them distinct from owls in general, which are typically most active at night. A Slytherin casting a snowy owl patronus may feel comforted by bright, warm sunlight.

Snowy owls are also unique in that they are monogamous. Slytherins, who value fraternity, are likely to place even more emphasis on personal relationships when producing this patronus. This does not necessarily mean that such Slytherins are especially extroverted or gregarious. They merely place a great deal of importance on long-term interpersonal relationships. They may feel comfort when receiving validation from those they love most.Snowy owls value large, unrestricted spaces. As such, it is not uncommon for claustrophobic Slytherins to cast a snowy owl patronus. In any case, Slytherins producing snowy owl patronuses often have a “special space” they go to when they’re feeling down. Coping skills may include going for walks, spending time alone, checking in with a close friend or partner, exercise, and sunbathing.
