GOOD OMENS s3 SPOILERS BELOW
I know people have a lot of gripes with the ending and whatnot
But guys
The ending was them quite literally giving the story to US (the fans) and out of the hands of Neil Gaiman (who fucking sucks ass)
The whole part in the bookshop with God (who is most likely Neil Gaimans self insert because OF COURSE HE WOULD THE BASTARD) is that this is a story She wrote. But this isn’t the first one She has written.
This isn’t the first time the ineffable husbands story has been told.
Book omens, podcast omens, there have been many universes where this story gets told, then ends.
They stop existing after that. Poof. God moves on to the next universe.
Sure, it’s the same story, same main characters, same plot, just a few details here and there switched around.
But Show Omens, (quite poetically might I add) broke off from God (and Gaiman). They (aziraphale + crowley) were given the choice to write the next story as They see fit, and what did They choose?
To give people free will.
To allow people to choose how to tell Their story.
To allow the fans to choose how to tell Their story.
Coffee shop AUs, human AUs, Immortal AUs.
It’s ALL canon.
And what’s the one constant?
THEY find each other. In every universe.
