I’ve noticed how easily Percy apologised in The Lightning Thief. Even if there was no need to, he said sorry. For example-

There’s literally no reason he should be apologising. It shows how much Gabe had verbally abused Percy and effected his mental health at a very young age. When you blame a child for unnecessary things, they grow up thinking everything is their fault and they end up apologising for nothing. Then he was told that the gods think he stole the lightning bolt and that’s why the world could be doomed in a few days unless he saved the world. Do you think he just took it lightly? Can you imagine how you would feel if it were you in his position? 😭

don't think about 8-year-old leo standing upon the ashes of a burned warehouse building, calling for a mom he doesn't know he's lost yet as paramedics drag him away. don't think about him not quite understanding death, or the concept of it, but understanding enough to know that no matter how many neglectful and abusive foster families or how many nightmares he has, his mom's never coming back. don't think about leo getting older and realizing the frightened and taunting whispers of him being a murderer are true. don't think about him finally finding a family only to find out it was made up and then, after the building of a real one, have it destroyed again when his best friend dies.

it could be. all the rick riordan mythology books are connected, one way or another. The flying horse could very well be one of the search teams looking for Percy Jackson because (in one of the calculations of another fan) "Throne of Fire" happens during the same year as "The Son of Neptune". Since this is a flashback, that means it could have occured between the years of "The Lost Hero" and "The Son of Neptune", meaning that they could have been still looking for Percy Jackson. Another theory behind it is supply runs for materials to build the Argo II, as previously stated that the timeline is still the same. There are a few novellas that Rick Riordan has written that create the scenario of Carter and Sadie Kane meeting Percabeth, and they're pretty cool to read. I would recommend you read them, but its not necessary.

Imagine your bestfriend. (Because not all brothers are close to you) You have all kinds of good memories with them. You have fun and are friends for 5 years, they save you in life and death situations and have stuck up for you when no one has. Then they unexpectedly go do smth seriously bad and betray you. But after all those good times you can’t just ACCEPT that they did what they did. So you struggle. You struggle with the fact they’re not as good as you thought they were and you keep telling yourself “They can’t be bad. I know they are good. Maybe they’ll listen to me. Maybe they still care.” Even if they did smth seriously messed up you can’t forget the nice memories you had with them. You remember the good times, they used to be a whole different person. Maybe they are still like that. You can’t just be like “Oh they did smth bad? Yeah I hate them.” when you’ve known them for FIVE years. Deep down you still care and you hate that you do.
