The story, to me, as a working artist, is so incredibly inspiring. The game WAS supposed to be a lazy asset flip, a quick cash grab like their last game. One more piece of slop to pay the bills by a small team of disallusioned artists who WANTED to make real games but had been broken down by the industry and accepted mediocrity as their lot in life. Then the trailer went mega viral and they realized this was their chance, maybe their one chance to make a real game. The CEO bet everything on it. "Lose your house and go bankrupt" everything. These people wanted this so badly. They remade the game in an entirely different engine they had no experience in. They barely knew how to do anything that they were doing. They just had to buckle down and figure it out, and they did. That's why Palworld is a good game. The absurdity of its development is unreal. It's crazy people don't know all this stuff. If you think that Palworld is just a lazy cash grab, watch this and see why it explicitly isn't.

It got me thinking about how often I see people bar young boys from appreciating girls/women as protagonists and heroes, and my own experience with it as a kid.

From what I understood, part of the wider problem in fiction. Something something a certain side of tiktok and twitter wanting a, basically "sanitized" version of a Yandere. Meaning they're obsessed and possessive, sure, but without all the bloodshed, dubious and messed up stuff that comes with the genre. This is their definition of a 'green flag' apparently lol. Though ironically, I heard of this through someone calling out how stupid the take is on twitter itself.

Gilbert Baker added a 9th stripe shortly before his death, with the new stripe representing diversity. He added this stripe in reaction to the 2016 US election. It’s unfortunately not as well known as the 8 and 6 striped versions.
