Hey ! i'm a 23yo french CG picture artist, working on rendering for diferents tv series. My blog is a mix of all that i'm fan of. It goes to cinema, animation (disney, pixar, dreamworks, ghibli...), RPG(final fantasy, uncharted,kingdom hearts...), books (I'm a huge Potterhead and Tribute). I also post some of my personal creations. Other interest: cooking (mostly dessert), travelling, hanging out with friends, and music.

Heard some important information on Twitter today, and thought I’d post it here for anyone who may not have heard it. This is actually a thing, devised by human rights organisation called Karma Nirvana.

My mom never really noticed. She noticed when she was breast feeding my little brother and blood started coming out instead of milk.

My mom said she felt and saw a little lump in the shower. She was lucky enough she found it at stage 2

My mom had a mammogram. The radiologist thought the spots were just regular calcium deposits. 

Turns out it was triple negative breast cancer that had spread to her lymph nods. Mastectomy, radiation and chemo saved her life.

This could SAVE a life.

Reminder that anyone who grew their own breast tissue can get breast cancer. That includes trans women, intersex peeps, and cis men who may not have been aware there could be some breast tissue in there. The only way to be sure you don’t have any at all is if you’ve had it all removed. If you’ve had tissue removed for reasons other than cancer, they likely didn’t remove all of it. If you find something weird, regardless of who you are or how you identify, get it checked out.

I felt nothing or saw nothing until doctor pointed it out. (Mine was actually picked up on a scan for kidney stones). I have been told by oncologist that I have more than 50% chance of reoccurrence. Diagnosed just over two years ago.

My sister diagnosed with it last year.

Both my grandmothers had breast cancer

Yeah, my paternal grandfather, a 46,XY cis male, had it. Vanishingly rare chance, that. Like, to the degree that medical software that collates all a patient’s known risk factors and calculates the odds that they may carry one of the BRCA mutations associated with getting breast cancer themselves does not actually have the option of saying he had it.

I mean, it had slots for ‘father had it’ and ‘brother had it’ but not ‘grandfather’.

The point is, it can be a stupidly unlikely thing, a stupidly uncommon thing, and still happen, so… yeah.

That having been said, are you familiar with the Know Your Lemons campaign? Fantastic way of conveying things to watch out for, using, well, lemons.
