This software reduces the size of Package-Files drastically, very usefull if you have tons of CC

🤔 How to install? 🔧
Just download and open the ".exe-file", you can move it anywhere, nothing else required

The warning message "Unknown Publisher" comes up, cause Microsoft wants me to pay, just so this popup won't appear
You can just tick the "Always ask before opening this file" and it won't appear anymore
(Optional) Technical Detail why this happens: You can sign software with a certificate by Microsoft, so windows knows it can be trusted. But this costs $70/year (minimum) and has no other effect than removing the warning.

(Optional) Technical Detail: It's just around 500 lines of code and parts of it I copied from other very successful Sims 3 Tools. If you're keen in coding, you'll find your way in the codebase pretty easily.
🤔 How do I use it? 🙆♀️
Important Notice: You don't have to use it repeatedly. The changes to the files are permanent. Once you finished, you only have to do it for new Package-Files.
1. Click "Browse", choose one or multiple folders that contain Package-Files
You can enable "Include Subfolders" and it will look at the subfolders as well
2. Check the boxes, choose what it should do with the Package-Files
"Remove Thumbnails" removes all Thumbnail (THUM) resources in the Package-Files

Some CC (mostly hair and clothes) has custom thumbnails, these will be removed, cause those images tend to be pretty big in file size

Compressing can take pretty long, but it will be worthwhile for your Game/CC-Experience, especially if you have tons of it, like me
3. Reminder: Do you have a backup?
You'll be reminded to have backups
You can disable the warning by unchecking "Remind me to have backups"
4. Click "Reduce"
Now you can make yourself a coffee, some tee or take a bath :D
Depending on the amount and size of the files, this can take a while (especially if you enabled compressing)
But trust me, it will be worth it
5. If you click "Stop"
It will not stop immediately, it will finish the file it currently edits and than stop

unhidden maxis objects with modified objects.package
for a while i've been using objects.package modified by me to unhide most objects that sims use during interactions and it's now a MUST HAVE for me when it comes to no cc decorating!
they're all in the decorative -> all category and cost 0$ except for sellable objects like those from flower station, sewing machine, etc (yes, i unlocked these as well!), those have their original price so they won't be at the beginning of the catalogue
objects don't disappear if you share a lot with someone, so it's really cool for custom neighborhoods and lots

this file doesn't go into the Downloads folder, so please don't place it there, for this to work you have to replace the original objects.package here:

i dunno if there's any potential consequences, but i recommend having a backup of the original objects.package file in case something goes south, personally my game is fine though and it's been like a year since i've modified the file
Testing out my custom TS1-inspired ReShade preset at the Broke house. Honestly, I'm pretty happy with the results! The objects actually look like real 2D sprites now, especially with those outlines. It's definitely a step up from my Mashuga house post where I edited the screenshots manually in GIMP. The objects there still looked way too 3D for my taste. I also love the effect on the Sims skin since it gives them a cartoonish texture. But when I switch back to 3D mode, my Sims get slightly transparent and I can even see those weird lines showing through (I don’t know what they’re called, but the ones used to move the Sims). Then, for some reason this preset seems to have trouble reading the color pink. Brandi's kitchen walls should be pink here, but they appear white. Also, the dithering in the dark areas looks a bit chaotic compared to TS1 smooth dithering, so I might need to tweak the settings more. Who knows?
Anyway, it's Beau's birthday (and no, that's not the present from Mr. Humble lol 😝)
"veronaville is so boring wahhh theres only 3 families" well obviously it's a hood all about the theme of family and loyalty. and the families themselves are extremely fleshed out. you've got ancestors upon ancestors with fascinating implications depending on what shakespearean character they're based off. what do you mean juliette capp's great great granddad is The julius caesar, dictator of rome. and his remains are just casually buried in their yard. what.
I kinda blame Maxis's half-assed approach to the neighborhood in general. Half of the families are in the sim bin for some reason, even though they should've had their homes, the memories are mess, even compared to Pleasantview and Strangetown sims. No wonder it's not popular, which is sad cause it genuinely had a ton of potential.

This is a really quick, but pretty big update from me.
I'm not really active in the Sims community as of late. But I have from time to time been working on this project, whenever I needed to sort of clear my head. And now was a moment I thought I should share it, because it would be kind of a waste if it just gathers dust on my laptop ;)
I've made an Old Town neighborhood (Sims 1) for the Sims 2. I've done that before, but this time Downtown, Studio Town, Vacation Island and Magic Town are all sub-neighborhoods instead of being part of the main neighborhood. And, all lots are built and in place, for as far as it was possible to recreate certain Sims 1 lots in the Sims 2.
I thought some people might enjoy it, so here is the download link
You can just place this in your Sims 2 documents folder, inside the neighborhoods folder.
This version has no sims in it. And I removed the characters folder, because it was massive, so it might literally not have any sims in it, not even townies. I've not had a chance to test it, so let's see how that works out...
If anyone wants to complete the neighborhood with sims, or change it, go ahead, you can share your version, as long as you credit me.
I'll try to check back in soon to see if there are any massive problems. But other than that, this is not a fancy CC release, just me sharing a project I've been working on as is, so that it might be of some use to someone 😅 I hope some people will enjoy it!

Massive thank you to @angelapleasant for getting this whole event together (you've done a fantastic job!) and to all the other creators who have both been and whose days are yet to come :D
preview pictures explaining as to which slider does what under the cut
Slider #1: cheekbone width
Self explanatory really, makes the cheekbones wider (but not deeper, nor taller). A bit like that one maxis slider but without any brow adjustment
Slider #2: cheekbone height
Makes the cheekbones longer or shorter on the y axis
Slider #3: jawline squareness
Affects the back of the jaw, changes the width without changing the chin or cheek width (unlike the maxis equivalents)
Slider #4: Upper lip width
The name's a bit confusing, it doesn't affect the upper lip but the area immediately above the upper lip, below the nose (I did look to see if it had an official name but that search sadly didn't turn up much). It's a little hard to see in the screenshot, but it makes this area wider or narrower.
Slider #5: nose fold rotation V1
This changes the angle of the nasal folds, rotating them up and down (as I've poorly tried to demonstrate in the screenshot). V1 affects a smaller area than V2, not really affecting any polygons around the mouth
Slider #6: nose fold rotation V2
Does the same thing as V1 nose fold rotation, but affects a larger area - this one moves more polys, including some near the mouth (despite the screenshots I swear they're different!). I only intended to make one slider for this, but couldn't decide which to keep so you get both :D
Slider #7: nose length
This slider makes the nose longer and shorter on the face, but in a different way to maxis' slider for the same thing in that the whole nose is stretched, centered in the middle of the nose, not just the nose tip moving up and down. (please ignore the clipping on the brow! the furthest point on the slider was too much for this guy's face but works fine on others)
Slider #8: nose tip length
like the maxis nose length slider, but only affects the tip of the nose
Slider #9: nose bridge shape V1
Makes the top of the nose bridge narrow and the nose tip wide, or the top of the bridge wide and the tip narrow, forming a triangular shape
Slider #10: nose bridge shape V2
Like slider #9, but affects only the nose bridge and not the nose tip, making it taper inwards our outwards from the top.
Slider #11: broken nose
forms a curve on the nose bridge off to the left, or off to the right, a bit like what you might get if your sim broke their nose

phew, that's all of them! hopefully these are ones that haven't been done before (I didn't previously have any of these, anyway), and that you might find at least some of these useful :D

expression practice with the lovely cassandra. i’m forever tweaking and adjusting how i draw her, she’s my biggest muse lol. i wanted to play around with using her pigtails to push the expressions further, i liked how it turned out.
