I think it would be a little funny if Nora was like âwe have Ozpins reincarnation with usâ and Theo was like âeven after a lifetime I could always recognize my friendâ but then goes to hug Ren
RWBY: the show that made people cry because Mulan and Thor held hands.Â
Donât forget the time Achilles kissed Jone of Arc and then got murdered by Cinderella.
Or the part where Jack Frost slaps Snow White in the face and disinherits her, after which she decides to run away from home and hitch a ride on a cargo ship smuggling magical gunpowder.
Or when Edward called Alphonse a pipsqueak.
When the Scarecrow got drunk and booped the nose of the Great and Powerful Oz.Â
ThisâŚthis is RWBYâŚ.
Just a remainder that cleopatra made achilles murder pinocchio
Actually @alltheallstars Emerald is based on Aladdin. Aladdin made Achilles murder Pinocchio
And everyone wants Belle to either make out with Goldilocks or the Monkey King.
And the Wicked Witch choked the Cowardly Lion with a jellyfish while Dr Watson watched.
Also Lampwick and an ice cream cone were the best characters. And the seven dwarves were just one guy with D.I.D.
And Little Red Riding Hood gouged out Cinderellaâs eye with eye lasers.
The fandom is torn apart because people canât decide if Belle should make out with Goldylocks or the Monkey King while everyone was suddenly very gay for Shir Khan.
Donât forget Cinderella pouting because her fairy godmother wouldnât let her go on a murder spree
Of ALL the replies this one is my favourite right now.
RWBY is such a good show
Also Baghira is Belleâs dad and he doesnât like the Monkey King but her mom the Hindu goddess of destruction does.
As someone who has never watch rwby, what the actual Frick
Watch it. You wonât regret it.Â
Anyone remember when Peter Pan was fighting the Indiegogo staff, or when Elsa slapped Snow White and called her a boob? Also people are shipping Red Riding Hood with Dorothy, but the Wizard of Oz may stand between them.
Also Mulanâs dad is Hanzo Shimada.
This post doesnât stop to amaze me.
Are yâall just gonna forget the time when Nyan Cat said Goldilocksâ boobs were too big and her teammate Bruno Mars did a shadow clone jutsu while fighting Snow White
Or the time Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks, Snow White, and Belle tag teamed then beheaded that bird Edgar Allen Poe was obsessed with.
Donât forget when the Beast cut off Goldilocksâ arm and Belle saved her. Also when Goldilocks got tricked by cleopatra into breaking the god Mercuryâs leg and then the tin man spoke to her about ptsd.
What about that time Goldilocks road a bumbleby to find her mom the bird from Nevermore only to find out that she kidnapped Snow White
Or what about that time when a cup of hot coco kicked a wolf in the balls for destroying her favorite clothing store
Or what about when an ice cream cone kicked the shit out of Goldilocks on a train
or what about Alladin being gay for Cinderella
Man remember when the Wicked Witch Of The West rode in on Monstro the Whale? Good times, good times.
What about that time Hansel kicked the shit outta Dorothy and The Great And Powerful Oz at the same time?Â
Or when Cinderella tried to steal what were meant to be Elsaâs powers but was stopped thanks to the combined efforts of Pinocchio, Gepetto, and the Grimm Reaper herself?
Or when the Scarecrow fell in love with The Honest Fisherman but then a scorpion framed the Scarecrow for murder and everyone was rightfully pissed off?
Donât forget that time when the Tin Man turned into a fascist dictator trying to murder everyone and disappear Robin Hood and her Merry men for telling him itâs a bad idea. Also the Tin Man shot a guy for calling him scared.
Oh what about Little Red Riding Hood going toe to toe with the Hare from the Tortoise and the Hare? Or all of Aseops Fables being class traitors?
And right now weâre viying for the police dog from paw patrol, Elsa, Aladdin, an ice cream cone with a knife, and Hansel to unionize.
âthe police dog from paw patrolâ is my new favourite addition
Tick-Tock the Crocodile blinded the Angel of Death because Rapunzel does not share power.
The Angel of Death once kicked the ass of an ice cream cone while Pinocchio and Cinderella went full cage match on each other in the background, all in the Roman Colosseum
The highlight (at least for me) of the newest season is that Goldilocks punched the Wicked Witch in the tits and blew them off with explosive rounds.
The Tin Man is going insane and the Snow Queen wants to blow up Moby Dick so Jeanne, Mulan and Goldilocks volunteer to go inside and save Tip (who is finally on speaking terms with the spirit of Princess Ozma). Tip manages to convince Hansel and Aladdin to turn good by showing them the Genie, but they are found by the Wicked Witch of the West.
Hansel realizes being evil goes against Gretelâs memory, so he takes all the steroids he has to beat up the Wicked Witch and hold her down while Tip causes a nuclear explosion that blows up her alongside Moby Dick.
Watts really decided to finally tear her a new one while she literally has his life in her hands and honestly thatâs a power move and I respect it.
I really love Wattsâ mood stages during this entire thing.
- When she first grabs him heâs nervous and in shock but he calms down and talks casually since sheâs only holding him above the ground
- When she pushes him over the edge his voice is shaking but his ego takes over âyou canât treat me like everyone elseâ
- He tries dealing with her âSalem told you to get me backâ, but when Cinder says âSalem isnât here right nowâ he starts being scared. His eyes dart around looking for a way to escape
- He is freaking out since she might actually kill him, but then he starts laughing. âYou know what? If Iâm gonna get thrown off a building by this tantruming child Iâm gonna go out telling the brat what she needs to hear!â
He even lets go of Cinderâs arm, the only thing holding him to life. This was a suicide run, she might let go at any second so he gave her a verbal smackdown she needed.
Itâs like the 4 stages of getting threatened: shock, bluff, bargaining, panic, acceptance
How Powerful Is Salem Really?
At the end of volume 3 when Salem was revealed to be the main antagonist of the series, I was under the impression that she was the most powerful character in all of Remnant. Yet between watching volume 8 and looking back at past scenes involving her something dawned on me. Salem really isnât as powerful as she makes people believe. Its like Oz said:Â
Thereâs also other lines that emphasize that Salem isnât that powerful such as Oscar pointing out how Salem knows she canât take on the whole world by herself and Ruby pointing out that if she was so powerful, she wouldnât have acted with such caution. Sure, she may have gotten stronger since her days of having to be rescued from the tower by Ozma due to being cursed with immortality and getting powers that lets her control grimm, manipulate them and even summon pbut that doesnât really make her a highly skilled combatant. After all, in their first battle, Oz managed to kill Salem multiple times. The only reason why Salem won and managed to kill Oz was because she had the infinite life cheat code.Â
In a one on one battle, Salem can probably fend for herself between her magic and immortality. But between the fact that she probably doesnât know any actual combat skills like a Huntsman/Huntress due to probably relying solely on her magic and immortality when in a fight, sheâd be in a losing battle against multiple opponents. Furthermore, an opponent wouldnât really have to kill Salem to necessarily win. If they could knock her out unconscious and lock her up in something, sheâd be pretty powerless. I actually like the fact that as a villain, Salem greatest strength isnât her magic or immortality, but instead her intellect and strategic mind.Â
Bear in mind, as a survivor of Humanity 1.0, Salem has to be, at least, on a similar power level to Ozma in his first lives. That was before Ozma gave away most of his magic to create the Maidens.Â
Each Maiden is, individually, poweful enough to take on Huntmen teams, even while inexperienced; a âfully-realizedâ Maiden, like Fria, could cause cold so deep it disintegrates cloth and causes instand cold-burn, if not near-frost bite (The Enemy Of Trust), melt through several dozen feet of steel (Amity), and Raven could cause large-scale lightning storms to appear out of nowhere.
Eache of them has a fraction of the power that Ozma once held; given that he still had enough to empower Qrow and Raven, and enough to fight Cinder 1v1? Probably around one fifth of his power each.
That means Salem has to be, at mininum, 4-5x more powerful than a Maiden.
Itâs not her greatest attribute youâre right, and she knows its not enough for her to defeat all of humanity by virtue of sheer numbers, but sheâs definitely the most power, non-divine entity on Remnant right now.
Good catch about the Maidens, I forgot to mention them, though youâre not factoring in the fact that when Ozma first fought Salem, he was at his full power, long before he gave away a large portion to his powers to the original four maidens with him being able to kill Salem multiple times. So I feel like saying Salem is 4-5 x more powerful than a Maiden isnât fully accurate considering that how powerful Ozma was originally.Â
If the CRWBY decided that all four Maidens working together, or even just three Maidens with a very good strategy, could beat Salem if she just wasnât immortal, Iâd be willing to buy that.
Itâs just that Ozma and the Maidens are the only standards we have to measure against, and Iâm choosing to believe that the two were more or less equal, with Ozma being the greater warrior but Salem having immortality haxx.
And on top of that she has an unknown number of Grimm powers. She can stretch her body like the Nuckelavee, She can use goo webs to pull people in and then there are her grimm arms that she can summon wherever she wants to trap people. (And also control any Grimm in the area to her whim.)
The Volume 8 intro shows Salem with the Houndâs wings. I wouldnât be surprised if this is a hint to her having mutation powers similar to the Hound, possibly creating wings or extra arms.
(And maybe she has her own version of Cinderâs arm and is capable of directly absorbing magic.)
Honestly, if she was a fighter her Grimm powers alone would make her a top level threat. But she is a mage type with flashy magic lasers
Do you guys realize how important the reincarnation cycle is for Ozma, though? And how crucial it is for differentiating him from Salem, and her own form of immortality?
A very common trope in modern fiction is that immortals just become⌠out of touch with humanity. How can you relat to someone whoâs life is a flash, a brief moment, compared to your unchanging, unending, interminable stagnation through history? How long until you lose the ability to empathize with the small, day-to-day troubles of these brief flashes in a pan we call life?
How many times has Ozpin met Team RWBY throughout the ages? Not the same people, but - the optimistic hero? The rebellious princess? The revolutinary? The protective firebrand? How many times has seen people just like them live, fight, and die? How long until they all start blurring together, and all you can see is their coming end?
Itâd be so easy to forget that these people youâre protecting are people, not just faces. And from there itâs a short jump to start asking yourself⌠why? Theyâll just die in a few years anyway. Why does it matter?
Itâd be so easy.
People like Oscar, like Ozpin, like all the countless lives Ozmaâs soul has passed through over Brotherâs know how many eons, are so crucial because they remind him. Ozma isnât just continuing through the ages like Salem is, heâs experiencing the lives of other people - their families, their friends, their hopes, dreams, fears, and deaths. Heâs constantly reminded of the importance of the little, miniscule moments of life, because as old as he is, heâs constantly re-experiencing them through the eyes of people living them for the first time.
How many times has Ozma met people like Team RWBY? Countless. How many times has Oscar? Once. And that makes so much difference.
âWhy do you keep coming back?â Salem asks. Because he hasnât forgotten. Not like she has.
(This is a fantastic post, thank you!)
I feel like forgetting was the only thing Salem could do.
By giving Salem immortality the Gods made sure she will never learn the importance of life. They forced her to live for millennia in a world without humanity so she would would go mad, and even after humanity came back her immortality makes it impossible to create any sort of connection. She is ancient, people die around her faster than she can blink.Humans are Mayflies to her. Even if she would try to connect with someone they are so fragile compared to her.
Ozma is complaining about a curse, but at least he has some change that keeps it interesting, a different viewpoint every few decades, but not Salem, her curse is so much worse, a neverending stagnant existence.
Not to say she isnât a victim, she could probably try growing as a person, but she is such a victim in all of this and her curse is cruel and evil.
What if Watts built his own Penny?
After the initial post where I initially thought this idea up, I brought it up on the Team RAIN discord and we kinda workshopped it all together. This is the result!
(by the way you should check out my rwby fan comic)

oscar unionizing salemâs crew is all Iâve been able to think about

RWBY X MAJOR ARCANA
So..... I had a weird idea.... what if I draw team wtch as super paper mario characters....
Now at first I thought âAh yes I can simply base every Rwby villain on a super paper mario villain!â but F-ing mimi and dimentio made that impossible.... so...
Tyrian was the first one Iâve drawn and Iâm gonna be honest I didnât know how to draw in the style so I traced of a pic of nastasia, and used that as a base to create this... also I used Tyrian purple as the main shading for him.
Next was Watts and heâs based of Mr. L mainly cause Mr. L has a moustache. I like how he tuned out.
This was the most frustrating picture! You would think that cause I traced over Oâchunks picture, that itâll be easy but... so many details! And colours! I didnât think he would have that many but than I coloured him... and the hair was I pain to draw too... god that took me so long...
At first I wanted to base cinder on mimi.... and oh boi did that not fit! So I based her on nastasia. Based not traced, btw I didnât feel the need to do that at that point in time. I think it turned out good...
Last but not least, the queen herself! Salem! The most original drawing on this post! The cape is loosely based on count blacks cape... but except that... was that completely my own Fan Art. I like how it turned out. To me it seems very close to the original style but still being clearly Salem. Also I like that from a far it looks like she is friendly smiling and than you look closer and itâs an evil smile.
This was fun! I really like the paper mario style. And Iâm kinda sad that Iâm already finished. Maybe Iâll do it again one day.
Um... since when is Cinder tortured by her decisions? She seems loud and proud about them.
You know what? Iâm sorry, youâre right.

Itâs slow going, but hey, sometimes youâve gotta crawl before you can leap, right?
But as long as you mingle with the right people, things will always look up.
After all, the streets are a fine home if you know what youâre doing.
Youâre right, sheâs really enjoying herself.
Growing into a brand-new person.
Sheâs a girl who made a wish many years ago, and at long lastâŚ

Callbacks are fun. Also showing why someone acted the way they did..
Weiss' scene is from Volume 1 Episode 15 (The Stray) and Jacques' scene is from Volume 8 Episode 2 (Refuge)
Oscar REALLY doesn't have good experience with Nora. Either she tackles him or he's nearly killed by someone with her face!
Turned my post into a video. Yay for learning how to edit.
Killing off Adam without ever putting him in a position where he got to meet and fight Weiss is a huge thematic mistake
Adam was literally branded SDC property. Because of the way Jacques is running the SDC, a child was literally branded, blinded in one eye. Adamâs obviously his own person, and blaming everything that happened between him and Blake on Jacques is incorrect, but the catalyst for EVERYTHING was the SDCâs blatant racism.
Weiss NEVER even MET Adam. She never had to see with her own two eyes the kind of monster her father is responsible for creating. She never got to see that brand over his eye. She never had to fight for her life to defend Blake, or pay for defending her with a limb the way Yang had to- and Yang wasnât even tangentially responsible for it. Weiss got through the ENTIRE narrative around Adam without ever having to meet the guy, let alone be presented with moral dilemma his existence invokes.
Fucking disappointing.
Meeting Weiss also couldâve been a huge moment for Adam as well. Heâd already gone off the deep end by the time 3.11 came out, but maybe if weâd gotten to have these two meet before that? Or maybe even during? Weiss is the personification of all of the privilege and entitlement that Adam hates. Sheâs the heir to the SDC throne. Even that one big White Fang grunt knew that killing a Schnee would be a huge thing.
Meeting Weiss, who would come out in defense of Blake- a Faunus- would FORCE Adam to reevaluate his position. If even the heir to the SDC- someone who we know was as racist as any run of the mill middle American irl was willing to put their life on the line to defend a Faunus, then Adam would HAVE TO understand that even IF he wanted Blake dead, that Weiss wanted her safe. Weiss wanted a Faunus safe.
They really couldâve done something interesting with Adamâs story, with a really awesome sword fight throughout, where Adam explains his POV that humans are beyond redemption ESPECIALLY for what they did to him, let alone for what theyâve done across the planet. And Weiss couldâve explained that she never knew what was going on- or at least, never wanted to know- but that HE was the one threatening a Faunus at the moment. Weiss and Adam are both arrogant assholes, but if theyâre BOTH presented with their opposing POVs and forced to look the results in the eye, thereâs no way that some really incredible growth couldnât have come out of it.
Adam shouting about his friends being orphaned in SDC mine explosions. Shouting about âNO FAUNUSâ signs in front of the only places to get food in small towns. Shouting about unfair wages and dangerous work conditions that HER FATHER is responsible for. Weiss countering back that NONE of this is Blakeâs fault and coming after her wonât change anything- that if anything SHE is the one responsible for not doing ANYTHING when faced with her fatherâs actions, not Blake. Weiss explaining that helping with the Breach just makes them criminals, that working with Salem would bring the downfall of Faunus just as easily as the downfall of humans. That all the privilege and entitlement in the world meant nothing if it was handed to her just because of her last name and not earned. That Blake is the LAST person he should be trying to exact revenge against because she NEVER stopped fighting for equality, just chose a different strategy. Adam angrily ripping the blindfold off his face to show his brand- as a statement, but also as a tactic to really fluster Weiss- and explain how in his POV Blake turned her back on any meaningful change when she left the White Fang, and that that betrayal hurt more than any scar.
Instead they decided to make him an irredeemable scumbag, more interested with getting revenge on his ex for dumping him than actually pursuing equality or justice for his people. And they doubled down on this aspect again and again and again, giving us the comic, the fact that heâs WAY older than Blake despite looking the same age as any of our other teenaged characters, etc. This retroactive rebranding of Adam from âradical revolutionary willing to do anything to achieve equalityâ to âjilted ex boyfriend gone psychopathâ robbed RWBY of a really interesting story that couldâve been explored. Adam and Weiss coming together- even just once- couldâve been a literal goldmine of insightful commentary on an issue thatâs been frontpage of nearly every newspaper at least once a month for decades. They couldâve made Adam an intelligent, passionate character, who felt that Blake was just as âmisguidedâ as she thought he was. Instead they just wanted him to be some 3edgy5me Killgrave clone.
Absolutely pathetic.
HOW THE FUCK COULD I FORGET THE SYMBOLISM OF THEIR SCARS?!
Adam was branded by the SDC, scarring and blinding his left eye. We donât know the whole story, but we can infer that heâd done something to warrant some asshole deciding that he needed to remember who he belonged to. That he was nothing more than property, like cattle.
Weiss was ALSO scarred over her left eye- a wound DIRECTLY caused by her defiance to her father and his company as she fought for her freedom. If you listen to her songs, she feels as if her father sees her as nothing more than his own property to manipulate and control for his own means, and itâs obvious he sees Whitley in the same way after he pulls Weissâ title of heiress.
Both of these characters were scarred over the same eye for daring to break the chains that bound them. These two characters clashing over their philosophies and ideals wouldâve been INCREDIBLE social commentary.
HOW IN THE FUCK DID RT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY IT LITERALLY WRITES ITSELF
WEISSâ COLOR SCHEME IS WHITE AND BLUE WHILE ADAMâS IS BLACK AND RED
HOW THE HOT FUCK DID THIS NOT HAPPEN
Adamâs Semblance was the ability to redirect all of the damage aimed at his sword back at his enemies. He was a kicked dog biting back. Weissâ Semblance was forced down to her through its hereditary nature, basically branding her as SDC property with glyphs sheâd never be able to run far enough away from. But while Weiss used her Semblance in a constructive way, even going so far as to ally herself with her fallen enemies, Adam only knew how to hurt back in return.
They are LITERALLY thematic foils through and through, you donât even need to add anything to either character to make this work. Itâs so perfect itâs like they wrote it this way and then decided to to follow through????
