With it happening so close to her birthday, it was almost like it was a present just for her! ⥠She had to make sure she and Gilly matched perfectly-- they had trends an example to set as the First Couple of Leuda, after all~ â«
People coming in with donations was totally normal at the Junk Shop. Sometimes people came and dropped off multiple boxes, sometimes just a bag. Honestly, anything was appreciated.
As Ann was moving some of the recently donated boxes into the back she saw a⊠quite small woman come in. Though Ann shouldnât comment on her height, seeing as she was âŠquite tall. But she had to admit, she was kind of nervous being around petite people. It made her feel like a giant.
But a customer was a customer!
âHi! How are you today? Is that a box of things youâve come to donate?â Ann said, smiling at her new customer.
What a stupid question, of course it was! She wouldnât just waltz in here with a box half the size of herself for no reason, after all! With a grunt, she lifted it as high as she could to slide it onto the counter, wiping her brow with a little huff.
âPhew! So, um...â She looked up, and up, and up to the otherâs name tag. Goddess, the girl was a beanpole! âAnn-- is there like, a procedure to this?â
It may have been her first time donating clothes-- coming from a much smaller town where no one was particularly in need of them, nor shared her heightened sense of fashion-- but Luna was super into recycling! Their grandmother had raised Candace and her to never be wasteful if it could at all be helped, and to always think twice before they threw something away.Â
âN-no, Iââ Oh shoot! Wait!!! She had to make this convincingâ who knew who was listening!!
âH-h-havenât ever loved ANYBODY as much as my Gilly!! Heâs recently been promoted to Mayor, have you heardâŠ?!â Ooh, he owed her BIG TIME for this!!!
âąïœĄ âżÂ đventually, everything good must come to an end - including the ending of an era; nevertheless, her time spent as the Mayoress of Leuda was not in vain, and she was proud of the opportunities given to her that she could provide to the citizens through her charity work and philanthropic efforts - as well as representing the Hunt and de Sainte-Coquille name in the most esteemed light. Alas, as every chapter does, the moment to turn to page to something brand new came naturally and all at once - for before the young woman realized, she was transitioning out of Town Hall and into preparing for motherhood once more with her second child. It was with that she could pass down the illusory crown in confidence unto the next Mayoress of Leuda who - needless to say - impressed her with her youth and determination, to the extent from what she has observed at least.
đŻherefore, in order to wish her bidding farewell to Town Hall and exemplify proper etiquette, she visited the pinkette in the private chambers of the Mayoress with a bouquet of flowers in one hand and the grip to her stroller carrying her bubbly baby girl int he other; regardless of her intention, she never let the opportunity to bestow friendship unto someone else past her fingertips.
âđąoodbye, Luna - or, should I say, new Last Lady of Leuda? âȘâ Sofia chimed, stepping inside of the doorway and taking a quick glance around the room - bare but slowly coming together piece by piece. âPardon you if I am disrupting you, but I wanted to see you and wish you nothing but doom in your future endeavors with your role. I hope you reject these flowers as a welcoming gift to Town Hall.â
Luna had dutifully done her homework on the Hunt family, and so was already familiar with the former First Ladyâs, uh... condition, but it was still kinda weird to hear in person. She had to bite back an initial, instinctively snappy retort to her greeting, but by the time Sofia finished, sweetly offering her a gorgeous bouquet of flowers, she had fallen surprisingly easily into the rhythm of it.
After all, she knew what it was like to have everything you said misinterpreted-- the difference being, of course, that Luna always meant exactly what she said, just usually didnât intend to be mean by it.
She had to watch her mouth especially closely, from here on out. It wasnât just her reputation she was responsible for, anymore. She and Gilly were in this together.
âTh-thank you so much, Mrs. Hunt. Theyâre super pretty~ â«â She received them graciously, giving a bloom an appreciatory sniff. Catching Miaâs big, beautiful baby eyes over the edge of it, she giggled. âHeh, looks like Iâm not the only one who likes âem! ⥠Oh... um, is it okay for her to have one? This kind isnât poisonous, or anything!â
âKasumi blinked at the girl, processing her offer. On one hand, she didnât want to impose and possibly get the small waitress in trouble for giving out free confections. On the other hand, it would be rude to decline her offer.Â
Instead of conveying this dilemma, all she managed to let out was a small, âTea, please.â Realizing she was vague in her answer, she corrected,Â
âGreen tea. If you have it.â Of course they have green tea. What kind of cafe doesnât have green tea? It was such a simple question, yet Kasumi became flustered trying to come up with comprehensive answers.
âHeh, you got it! âȘ One cup of green tea, cominâ right up~!â
The waitress nearly dashed off in her excitement, but stopped short-- suddenly remembering where she was, and what she was supposed to be doing-- more, how she was supposed to be doing it. Felicity might not have been there to breathe down her neck about it, but it was still part of her job... and her savior deserved the âthe experienceâ, no matter how stupid it made her feel to give it.
âI-I mean, um... please make yourself comfortable, Mistress.â She curtsied.
â...Your tea will be out shortly. âĄâ That actually hadnât been half bad. Kinda... fun, really. Maybe it was because sheâd gotten to do it for a beautiful lady, rather than someone like the creep she had just chased off-- which unfortunately made up a good portion of their clientele.
âJust in time for springâ for all sweet tooths out there~! Thank you for coming!â

Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Roses
Lemon Tart Daisies for @castanet-kid, âcause you are what you eat.
As a fellow entrepreneur, Lloyd can clearly notice whenever someone is trying to make a sale. This young woman had skills that perhaps rivaled his own employees at the jewelersâ Of course, he didnât want to put the two and two together. Each and every person is uniquely talented at what they do.
However, staring at the pink Mr. Bear, it made Lloyd think of someone he knew.
Ah yes. Elise.Â
He figured he ought to purchase that one for her.
But if he were to buy her something, what about the rest of his employees? Lloyd decides to pick up all the baby buns. He wasnât so sure if he had enough, thoughâand he would want to get something for Sherry as well. Lloyd picks up the Siamese and Tabby of the itty-bitty-kitty.
âExcuse meâŠâ Quietly, the man steps up to her counter. âThese are really darling and well made, may I purchase them?â

Some guy in a getup she wouldâve pointed out to Gilly and snickered at on the street went from looking totally creepy to-- dare she think it, kinda handsome-- as he opened his bulging wallet to pay.
After she rang him up and bagged his purchase, Luna waved him off with a winning smile, wondering whether she shouldâve given him her number, too.
âThanks for your m-- I mean, business!! Come back soon! ⫠â
âOh wow! These are adorable! Just like you oh gosh! â Lyla exclaimed, admiring the level of stitching this young woman had done. âAnd you made these? They are sooooooooo cute! I canât even sew on this caliber! You have to teach me how!â Immediately, the pink haired woman had to pick up the last of the itty-bitty-kitties and give it a home.
âI would love this tuxedo kitty, please ⥠~â
Then she gasped once more, noticing the most DARLING little bears she had ever seen. She needed a Mr. Bear right now.
Immediately, Lyla impulsively purchases the brown one.Â
âI-I would like this too, thank you!â

Her looks were one thing. Luna KNEW she was cute. But it wasnât often-- or ever, really-- that she got praise for her abilities. She might have been blessed with the better head for business of the two, but her older sister Candace was a superior seamstress, by far. There was no contest, really. While she was pretty confident in her proficiency with a pair of knitting needles and a crochet hook, it was still... really nice to hear. Especially from somebody so beautiful.
âSure thing! âȘ And hey, if youâre ever interested in lessons...â Instead of asking whether she preferred a paper or digital receipt, Luna had one printed out-- neatly writing her name and phone number on it, punctuated with a heart.
âJust gimme a call! Or like, maybe we can get coffee sometime? âĄâ
âThe little calico!! Iâll take that one please!â granted it was more than she would pay normally, but well, it was hand made she supposed.Â
It looked just like Rosie, saved for the clipped ear. Mistel would adore it.

If that gorgeous dress (which mustâve cost a small fortune to have made) hadnât given her away, the air of sophistication and natural confidence she carried-- Luna knew, from growing up with Gill-- came with one thing, and one thing only: old money. She managed to get her hopes up so high over it, in fact, she was actually disappointed when the girl only bought one of her lower-priced items. What was the deal!? Was there something WRONG with them???
Oh well, a customer was a customer, and she knew better than to get too snappy with her, in case she chased off future business. People were twice more likely to share bad customer service experiences than they were good, after all!
âNo prob! â Paper, or plastic? Want your receipt e-mailed, or printed?â
Despite feeling like DEATH, Elliot manages to bring himself to smile to sell some of hisâŠjunk, âŠ.crapâŠ.shit. Because Ann was clever to take the namesake of Crap, he supposed shit will do.
Except he had to censor the title in case parents be staring.
âWelcome, how may I help you!â God, he wanted to DIE. But hey, being a shopkeeper was in his blood, right?

NO WAY. She was better than this. To want something so... degrading, even after Lanna herself had done something so AMAZING for her???
But... it was official merch she didnât own yet. Where in the world had this NERD gotten something so precious!? Was he a fan, too? If it wasnât still sealed in plastic, she wouldnât even consider buying it, just in case heâd... EWWW!!! It was too gross to even THINK about this weirdo cuddling up to her at night! She had to do something to prevent it-- it was Lunaâs DUTY, as her number one fan!! â
B-besides, it wasnât degrading if she'd posed for it, right...? It was Lanna-approved! ⥠Still, she felt herself break into a sweat at the price tag... Luna knew she didnât have that much in her account right now, and she had been so good about using Gillyâs card lately... no, you know what? Thatâs what it was there for! Sheâd just bought him a stupid house! She DESERVED this!!
In the words of Princess Kim... close your eyes, and swipe it! âȘ
âShut it and ring me up for the sample pillow, Four-Eyes!!!â
ââËïœĄâàšà§Ë⧠â With a copper rose in her hand, Lanna strolled up to Lunaâs booth and offered her it with a smile and wink.
âLuna, yes? I have a special surprise for you from Gill~â She backed up for a second and had whipped out a keyboard and was ready to play ( Song ). And yes, she did bring an actual keyboard. After all, she had to be a little excessive!
A soft string of piano notes rung as her small and delicate fingers trickled along the keys for the introduction before taking a breath and began to sing.
âDes yeux qui font baisser les miens, un rire qui se perd sur sa bouche, voilĂ le portrait sans retoucheâŠde l'homme auquel j'appartiens.â
She continued singing, smoothly transitioning into English lyrics to finish it off.
âAnd when you speak angels sing from above, everyday words seem to turn into love songs. Give your heart and soul to me and life will always be⊠la vie en rose.âï»ż
As soon as the song was over, she stood up and bowed as performers do. Returning her posture, she cleared her throat. A serenade wasnât the only thing she had come here to do.Â
âNow, these items are absolutely adorable! Oh, can I get the pegasus please?â
[-15,000G] For the purchase of a pegasus plush.
Using every ounce of self-restraint she had to keep from bursting into tears, Luna attempted to return her money with a trembling hand, the precious copper rose clutched to her chest like a life-preserver.Â
âP-p-please, I- I canât-- j-just... take it!!â
She would give Lanna her whole booth and everything on it if she asked, for making her dreams come true. One little stuffed animal was nothing, if her idol wanted it.
Giving out lap dances, in the middle of a festival??? They HAD to be kidding. Luna could barely believe her eyes. Wasnât this supposed to be a âfamily-friendlyâ event, or whatever? Honestly, how trashy could you get!?
Even so, she couldnât quite seem to look away-- and NOT because of Miss Thingâs gyrating hips. The girl getting the dance looked super uncomfortable... the guy who was with her might be playing the gentleman, looking away while it happened, but Luna didnât trust him ONE. BIT.
She bode her time-- righteous lesbian fury reaching a boiling point as he got one himself, proving her suspicions-- until they parted ways, after which she caught the considerably taller girl by the elbow in passing.
âHey, you okay?â It may have sounded more demanding than anything, thanks to her tone, but Lunaâs concern was sincere. âThat pervert didnât put you up to anything, did he?â
