Back in my day you couldn't pin a post. You had to develop the html skills to have a sidebar to tell people your hogwarts house.

I do think it's funny how when you leave home you learn that people have different 'tiers' for things and specifically I'm thinking about how since I left home I I have learned in that span that many people consider flat pack furniture the cheapest tier of furniture. And I don't mean anything at all deep by this, but it was a shock because I didn't know about flat pack furniture until I was in college and I thought it was kind of fancy.
To me the cheapest tier was always Something Your Extended Family Doesn't Want Anymore or else Found It On The Side of the Road/In The Communal Dumpsters, followed by Bought It At The Thrift Store/From Someone Who Doesn't Want It Anymore. Any kind of new furniture always seemed very fancy to me and usually when someone bought something brand new it was a recliner specifically for some reason.
And I think a lot of this is because I've always lived in places where there was a lot of secondhand furniture being passed around and where there was room to park delivery trucks and get it up the stairs -- I expect it's different if you live in a fifth-floor apartment in a crowded city. But I DO think it's funny to experience that type of dissonance. Even now I think of IKEA as a luxury brand? We bought some shelves last year to store yarn and I was like "wow, how posh of us."
"What do you mean its modular? I can make the furniture suit my needs and not just use a chest of drawers as a TV stand?"
John Oliver gets it, as usual. AI Slop is one of the best episodes of Last Week Tonight I've seen so far. Gen AI is theft. Those who use it are not authors or artists, they're grifters profiting from real creatives.
'That's one form of magic, of course.' 'What, just knowing things?' 'Knowing things that other people don't know,' said Granny.

being anti ai is making me feel like in going insane. "you asked for thoughts about your characters backstory and i put it into chat gpt for ideas". studies have proven its making people dumber. "i asked ai to generate this meal plan". its causing water shortages where its data centers are built. "ill generate some pictures for the dnd campaign". its spreading misinformation. "meta, generate an image of this guy doing something stupid". its trained off stolen images, writing, video, audio. "i was talking with my snapchat ai-" theres no way to verify what its doing with the information it collects. "youtube is impletmenting ai based age verification". my work has an entire graphics media department and has still put ai generated motivational posters up everywhere. ai playlists. ai facial verification. google ai microsoft ai meta ai snapchat ai. everyone treats it as a novelty. every treats it as a mandatory part of life. am i the only one who sees it? am i paranoid? am i going insane? jesus fucking christ. if i have to hear one more "well at least-" "but it does-" "but you can-" im about to lose it. i shouldnt have to jump through hoops to avoid the evil machine. have you no principles? no goddamn spine? am i the weird one here?
Hey, don’t cry. You can log onto the computer and talk to other gay people about The Characters okay??
maybe if i reread a discworld book just one more time everything will be alright in the world
Angel: Did it hurt?
Husk: Yes
Angel: I was talking about the fall from heaven
Husk: It all hurts
Husk: My life is constant pain and suffering
Angel: Stop being depressed and flirt back!
I like when people like a character so way too much that it transcends even self shipping or kinning and becomes more of a patron saint that you pray to type of deal
people are getting high as fuck on new stupid drug called "night drawing" its making them stay iup all the goddamn night drawing. and brother let me tell you. the drawings. not even good
I don't know the temperature of this take but, I think Ghoulia should've had more eating brains imagery
Me when a song has honestly nothing to do at all with a character but I played it a lot while thinking about them
When Angel Dust quit 🤣🤣🤣
I LOVE YOU VAL!!!!! 🦋💖😘❣️
It's not very detailed, because I'm at work and I did it quickly and secretly, on my cell phone. 😅
you never truly leave a fandom. some day down the road you’re gonna remember the blorbo you were obsessed with when you were ten and never recover the brainrot that’ll attack you out of nowhere
making every conversation into being about The Character with the same reliability and conviction of a youth pastor going “you know who else partied? our lord and savior”
