All the Phantomhive servants know Sebastian isn't human, they just can't agree what he is.
Do you believe the theory that Undertaker is Ciel's grandfather?
Yes
No, but I think he is stoll related to the family in some way
No
Maybe
I have not heard of this theory
It just hit me that I have been staring at additional evidence for the parallel theory without even realizing it.
I straight up FORGOT about Undertaker's magical bookmark from season 1.
Why do I keep coming back to Black Butler?
It's not because it's perfect.
It's because this story is one of the very few that makes me think about masks, identity, power, grief, and the roles people choose to survive.
Almost every character is playing a version of themselves: Sebastian, who plays āthe perfect butlerā to hide his monstrosity, Ciel, the child who claims he's āan adultā, Undertaker, a grim reaper who chose to hide behind the identity of a āA cheerful undertakerā to escape his grief; Elizabeth, who decides to take the role of a "perfect wife" to adhere to her society's expectations, Agni, who in order to atone for the sins he committed, took the role of a ādevoted worshiperā. Lau, who literally takes the role of the āfoolā to diffuse attention away from himself.
Some characters wear these masks to fool others. Others wear them because they have forgotten who they are without them. For some, the mask is not just a disguise, but a survival mechanism.
Perhaps this is why this story sticks with me.
Beneath the demons and murder mysteries and Victorian aesthetics, Black Butler is a story about identity made through trauma, about what grief can turn people into, and if the mask you wear to survive becomes your real face over time.
I had the opportunity to purchase asthma cigarette packaging dead stock the other day and passed it up because it wasn't Victorian or Edwardian and now my brain can't stop thinking about it.
I should have bought it. It could have been friends with the Opium script and croup med advert card from 1889. :(
Concept:
Doing a tea drink along while reading or watching Black Butler.
Personally, I like to headcannon that, rather than being a historical inaccuracy, Sebastian put a corset on Ciel wrong because neither of them know how they're actually meant to be worn and there was no woman in the room to help them
Black Butler Week 2026: July 5 - 11
Day 1 Yap Prompt: How did you discover Black Butler?

Sebastian should get to pretend to get drunk with the other servants, let a few demonic features slip, and then gaslight the servants about said features as a treat.
Iām sharing this on my main blog because I genuinely believe that this community could be harmful and be a breading ground for unsafe adults to take advantage of children.
My groomer used ships like Sebaciel and other media like nekopara to normalize there actions against me and found me in a space like this community and found other victims as well.
This is more then hating a ship this is about protecting minors from being harmed by unsafe adults
Donāt go harassing anyone in this community. I have censored the usernameās of the blogs to prevent harassment. Just report this community and warn others about its existence

AU where Akechi survives, but ends up with a spinal injury/in a wheelchair due to the events in the engine room.
He is still learning to adjust and come to terms with it at the time of the story's end.
I fear my boss is taking the corporate slavery joke too far. Dude just got a location with a weird dog kennel addition and spent today talking about plans to use said kennels as cubicles.
What they don't tell you about writing is that as you write, you discover scenes and entire plots that you hadn't accounted for that need to be written. So you can spend two hours writing and editing only to realise you're further away from the finish line than you thought you were when you started
AU where durge and Gortash have a kid together so Gortash gets stuck with a feral little bhaalspawn at his own coronation.
Wanting to cosplay Isobel Thorm is suffering.
I have been working on drafting the sewing pattern for 3 weeks now and I'm still absolutely hating how it looks.
I just want a pretty coat :(
That I may or may not wear at random because it is so pretty and I'm making part of it detachable for the sole purpose of passing it off as a normal coat.
